I'm from the states and normally stay away from English videos because of the heavy accents but found myself watching this video a few times in the background while picking out rods. You make a good team. I ended up with the 4wt 11' , the 3wt 10' , and the 3wt 6'6". I use the maxcatch gold fly line with success.
It's great to see the pair of you back on RUclips.
Thanks Lee! And we actually have filmed some fishing too! 🤣
I have the older XF2 streamflex 10' #4 they are very nice rods . It tends to be my go to all-round river rod as I use it for dry fly , nymphing, wet flies and modest sized streamers . They do roll cast very well .
Dear IB and Andy
Congrats to the great channel you are running. Thanks for the great review .I hope to see you soon in Slovenia.
Great to see you both back.... how about a Vlog on fishing a heatwave!!!! pheeeww!!
Hey Paul! We have filmed 2 fishing vlogs, something different and quite sentimental.. hopefully one up this Friday if Andy gets chance to edit tomorrow 🤞. Hope you're getting plenty of fishing done
Really glad to see you both back. I was actually looking at this rod to start river fishing for brown trout and grayling.
Thanks John! Great rod, I think this one will serve me for many years to come
@@IBandAndyFishing will this rod be ok for grayling ? I am going to give grayling fishing a try this year so getting my river kit sorted out..have a lovely day.
Welcome Back, I have used several Streamflex rods over the years and they are pretty good bits of kit, use a 10 ft 4 weight now (older model) with either the #4 line or if there is a crafty downstream wind (which tends to be the case on the middle Usk) up gun it to a #5 and slow it down, also choose a reel that balances the rod not too light or the rod goes tip heavy. Funny Andy I slightly off-set the butt section to avoid line slap also. Now that filler in the cork would bug the hell out of me for a rod that cost nigh on £280 I expect good quality cork, not perfect but pretty damn close, all the more reason to go to a tackle shop and pick one up and see it in the flesh.
good to see you both back
Thanks Anthony! It felt weird in front of the camera again it's been that long.
Good to be back!
Nice to see you back. I was getting a bit worried you had gone for good. Been missing my Friday evening viewing. So, looking forward to that again.
Hey Peter! We are here and have lots of fishy things coming soon! Hopefully one this Friday 🙏
Andy and IB
Which better grx80 or vision nympho rod?
Good vid, fish more please
Cheers
Great review by very knowledgeable people, thank you Andy and IB 😊
Not at all! Thank you, for watching it!!
nice to see you back guys
Thanks Steve! Nice to be back ❤
Glad to see you back
Thanks Steven! It's good to be back
Good to see you guys back on screen!!!! I've missed your vlogs!!!
Hope there's more to come soon 🤞🤞🤞 😁😁
There is, there is! Nice to be back & thanks for watching ❤❤❤
Dooooods, where you been? Much love cant wait for some new adventures!
Thanks Mark! It's good to be back on it, we've been working non stop, but slowly coming out of the busiest period now
What a delightful couple. They seem to have life right,
thanks for the review. I found an 11' 4-wt for $219 new and decided to get it partially based on this review. I plan on using it for fishing spiders and swinging wets on a local tailwater. I'll let you know how it works out!
Lovely to see you both looking so well, great review 👍
Thanks Zachary! It's nice to be back! ❤
Hey folks, looking forward to this.
Thanks James, hopefully you enjoy it 😀
I have the 8'6" 5 weight and it fishes like a charm. I am a bit of a dinosaur when it comes to lines. I am using it with an Orvis/ Sci anglers Double taper and I use it more than a sage TXL I have..
You do cast well. I prefer a 20 foot two handed rod, but 10 foot 4 is a good size.
Good to have you both back, hopefully there's some fishing coming soon. Enjoy your vids and liking the honesty ☺️
Great review guys, really enjoyed that!
IB and Andy is this rod too fast to euro nymph with? or is the tip section able to cast a mono line?
Yay! 😁 So glad to see you two again! I was thinking about you guys the other day, and hoping all was well. Looking forward to more videos!
I enjoyed your review very much. Thank you for both, for an informative summary.
Thanks for the great review guys!!! Those new Greys rods are amazing… I’ve got 8ft 4 wt and absolutely love it .
They're such a joy to use aren't they? I definitely love mine one! Glad you enjoyed the review 💕
Thanks for insightful review! Now I am confident buying small river fly rods using 3M Powerlux.
My Tiemco 11' switch rod is 3M Powerlux blank with the same characteristics of faster flex (helps accuracy in overhead cast on long rod) while having nano resin technology (why similar to Hardy Sintrix) adding resilience and smooth torque (helps roll/Spey cast and fight fish).
We can't get Tiemco rods over here in Europe, are they as awesome as I imagine they would be?!
Thought you’d split up.
Good to see you both back!🎣
Hahaha! There's a few of you! Nooo, just mega busy this time of the year. Why would Andy ever leave me... I'm amazing 👀👀👀🤣
I was wondering where you have been, so great to see this. Good honest review
Hey Tim! As you can Imagine, Andy has been working non stop at this time of the year. He has proper guide/panda tan lines and a few less hair (not that he had many).
Hope you're good and have a good fan in front of you!
@@IBandAndyFishing all is well here. Too hot to fish. Glad you’re both well
You're beautiful together. 😉😉
Nice and honest rewiews, I'm another happy owner of this fantastic rod , and another three Streamflex different line as well .
I will definitely recommend this rods to everyone without regretting my advices., quality performance ratio absolute unbeatable.
Cheers guys keep on sharing together this fantastic passion..🤗🤗🤗
Yep Greys warranty is good i had a miss hap with my streamfex 🙄lets just gloss over this and they replaced the broken section no problem, if the rod is discontinued they will offer you a full replacement at a reduced cost
Great to see you both back. When will your trout fly packs be back in stock I’m dying to try one!!
Hi Jack! Not sure if they will now before next trout season, we will probably focus on grayling packs now and start working on trout ones asap. We misjudged on the demand badly and that's totally our fault! If we do have a couple of available, we will post it on here 💕
Hope you're well and catching a few!
Guys would you say that the streamflex is suitable for euro nymphing as well?
Some good info. I think I'll give one a try.
Good to see another vid' from you. Can I suggest a rod from the same stable for review? The entry level Hardy, the Shadow. A little dearer (around £300) than the Greys, but very very nice. The 9ft 4wt is my favourite dry fly rod. It's very versatile and will handle nymphs and even small streamers, too.
Your backkkkkkkkk 🤗👌🏼
Guess who's back.. back again 👀😎🤣
Yeah review tuesday. Great video of a nice looking rod good to see you back but we need more fishing videos just saying 😁
Dear IB and Andy
First of all congrats to the great channel you are running.
I am a fan from Switzerland and I enjoy the different approach you apply compared to other fly fishing vlogs.
I am considering the streamflex 10 foot 4 weight but am wondering what line fit the rod perfectly.
What brand and line would you recommend?
look good with an Abel reel 🤣 good to see you back
That Abel reel makes me look good! Let alone the rod 🤣
I purchased the 9'6"/10ft Gr80 streamflex plus version in 3wt for euro-nymphing though havn't got using it yet, can't wait!
What rod and casting weight would you recommend for wet fly fishing though around £350 for similar rivers as in your footage about 20-35 feet wide with overhanging trees etc and occasionally high banks? Riverbanks shouldn't be an issue now I have waders ordered :)
Honestly I'd be tempted to use you GR80 at 9'6" to fish the wets and then go out and buy a Vision Hero for your nymphing!
Great review you two.👍The rod looks great with the Abel🤣. Also I feel honoured to have my flies on your shelf thankyou so much!!!!🎣
I think that too. Although the abel would make any rod look nice 🤔🤣. Good eye for detail! It's been there since the day we fished!
Hi Both,
thank you for another helpful review.
Can you confirm whether your rod was the Streamflex Plus? I see it has a cork butt. I thought it was only the Streamflex Plus versions that have a cork butt.
Cheers.
Which fly line do you recommend to use with this rod?
we used a few and both had differing opinions. I liked it with the airflo Superflo Ridge 2, IB preferred the Airflo Tactical Taper....
Hi guys is it right ( hot weather is no good for trout fishing) I'm bored with not going fishing on the Dane many thanks xxx
Terrific Review. I’m not sold on it.. only because my local chalkstream is soooo overgrown it would be almost impossible to cast a 10ft+ rod. It’s hard enough using a 7ft. I’m using a wee stick of 5’6" #3 most of time. Having said that, I could be tempted on getting one for the freestones up north. Thanks again.
I have a question. Should trout always needs to be caught by fly fishing or it can be caught even with normal rods.
Could you use this rod on small wild trout lakes ?
Great review! Will you be reviewing any maxcatch outfits?
Perhaps one day, nothing in the pipeline at this moment in time Thomas
Would you be able to use this still water fishing
Nice review. I currently in the process off getting lighter tackle this greys in my sights, but also the Mackenzie nx1 10' 4# have you tested handled this rod?
I've not handled the Mackenxie at all I'm afraid, would like to see them that's for sure
Well what rod did u go for ? That’s the same 2 I’m looking at in a 3wt
@@davidgregg6703 Sage LL 8’9’’ 4#
@@neilmason158 Thts crazy u just said that. Cause the sage trout ll is the one I’ve always wanted . Very expensive! But was really considering it. Wud u recommend it? And Wht was ur reason for picking it over the other 2
@@davidgregg6703 Already own a Sage XP 9'6'' 6# for Sea Trout and the wife bought me Sage SLT 5# 12 years ago, fantastic warranty, light in the hand, quality build and a joy to fish with, Drys, Nymphs, Wets
nice couple
I stopped watching when you said £300 ! Well out of my price range. That sort of rod will only ever be a dream for me.
We've found an incredible 10' 4# for an insane price. We're giving it a good going over at the moment, review should be early in the trout season 👍
@@IBandAndyFishing anyway you could name the rod?
so what are your names again...? lol.
Caught my pb rainbow on a 10' #4 @rockbournetroutfishery 😍
