Hello I've just bought this and aeratored my lawn it's a beast absolutely brilliant and I think the bit left over is a wall bracket looking forward to your next video.
Thanks again for this video - mine arrived yesterday and thanks to your video I was able to assemble it without any fluster. The basket does fill up quickly - one run and I had to empty it even though I have small garden. I used the same blade that you have done above thinking that what I was doing was scarifying but the manual refers to the other blade as the scarifier and the one above as the aerator!!
Hi, I had mine delivered today. I think the part you’re not sure about is to allow the unit to hang on a wall. You screw the part into a wall in your garage / shed, and then when you want to hang the unit you loosen the hand screws holding the handle in place so the handle goes flat. Then hang the unit by the bar (where the plastic cable holder is)
Glad to find at last a video on this model, paid for mine on Saturday on their website. Very informative but would be scared to operate the machine in sandals.
Found all bags on different brands are to small but I don't use the rake I use the other blade cause with the cuts it makes in to soil handy for over seeding
Thanks a lot, I just bought one today, delivered in 3 days time. Is the part that you were unsure about, something to hold the cable up with? Cheers Paul
You incorrectly named the scarifier as the aerator and vice versa I believe. The user manual states that it comes with the scarifier already attached and not the aerator
I contacted there repair dept on the Wirral they had no wheels as this is a new model, they had no idea when they would get any spares. So contacted Aldi customer services who arranged collection via yodel, I boxed everything up. It was collected at a arranged time and on there receipt payment refunded (awaiting). Like you they had sold out.As I said the bag is rubbish and hardly worth using I noticed the stitching on it was coming undone before trial use and the metal parts seemed a bit flimsy, but I guess at the price on balance worth it.
Hi I had mine delivered recently I was sure the roller you used was the aerator not the scarifier I’m a bit confused now did you mix up the names in the video cheers
The roller I used in the video was the scarifier. It’s teeth are supposed to act as a rake. The other other is the aerator. I’m hoping to use it either today or tomorrow if the weather holds out 🤞🏻
It was about £70 if I'm remembering right. I would definitely recommend it! In fact, I used it this afternoon. Two years on and it's still doing a good job 👍🏻
So, this does come with two separate blades, a scarifier and an aerator? This is not very clear from the description of the product on the Aldi website.
Mine also had broken front wheel straight out of box. What did you do as Aldi don’t do parts and now sold out so cannot replace. I’m going to contact the service number but not sure they’ll have wheels.
im saying the aerator should be used as a verticutter..which is less aggressive than a scarifier..you should use it on a higher setting than the scarifier and to get a verticutter to have blades that close together you need to spend thousands..look at the allet verticutter cassette ..its a bit poo with blades too far apart..then look at the way more expensive commerical version.

I have got it wrong in my videos! To be honest, I had a quick skim of the manual and got straight to it - I need to be more vigilant next time! 🙈
What they call an aerator is what other companies call a rake. An aerator has spikes which go deeper into the lawn.

Thanks for letting me know - I guess that would explain the wall plugs!

Was not my wisest move! 🤣
Make sure you use the right roller, this video was complete wrong
Thanks for the helpfull video. Just wanted to point out that the first roller you used was in fact the aerator, the second roller was the scarifier.
Yep I would delete and start again.
Piece left over is the wall bracket to hang it up in your garage or shed when not in use. The handle folds down too.

Lovely to see the sliders on again mate ;) full health and safety followed :)
🤣🤣
Typical Scouser gardening in black socks & sliders 😂⭐️😂

Quite possibly! I’m sorting the front garden tomorrow so I will see if I can find where it goes. Thanks for help 👍🏻

The first blade is a verticutter, great for controlling weed grasses

@@NoviceGardener thanks for reply really good video by the way going to watch your next video before I try mine out cheers
@@ryanbutterworth2841 Just uploaded part 2 now using the aerator attachment - was slightly trickier to use with my lawn!
@@NoviceGardener Hi. I 'm a bit confused too as the user manual on page 3 shows the cartridge with the wire hooks as the aerator??
Pretty sure the Blades are the scarifier and the other is the aerator
You need the blades for scarify
The springs are for air
Yeah I thought or was thinking that. Got it wrong
How much did you pay for this, mate? After one year are you happy with it? Thanks

Yep, it comes with both. I though the same - they haven’t made it very clear!
Thank you for your prompt reply. Very helpful and timely videos. Thank you
You do the lawnmower huh ???
Handy tip, flip-flops = lost toes with lawn care machines 🤞🏽
🤣 I was lucky this time!
Do Aldi sell safety shoes
Perhaps you should invest in some. Best wishes Keith
Great for overseeding your lawn
Mine came with a broken front wheel, found on first use,the collection bag is absolute junk flimsy ,and to small best used without it.

Umm..thats the Aerator you used first...hence it ripping the grass up.
Flip flops..only in Liverpool….😂😁😅
What you think is a scarifier is a lawn rake. The scarifier is what you think is an aerator.
Seems ok for a scarifier and verticutter
Hope it's better than last year's model. Burnt out on first use.
Most Aldi stuff is chinese tat now. Lidl stuff far superior
