--------------------------------
In this clip, Lord Jamar and DJ Vlad discuss The D.O.C. who is a legend in the eyes of true hip-hop heads. Lord Jamar stated that he believes D.O.C. had similar star power as 2Pac when he came on the scene. He praised him for being one of the first artists outside of New York that he thought could really MC.
Later on, Lord Jamar and DJ Vlad chopped it up over D.O.C.'s lasting impact and how he should consider writing a book to tell his story to the people.

djvlad The D.O.C was going to be the biggest west coast rapper ever.bigger than snoop,or anyone.no one can do it better bar far smashes today's current albums.he was lyrically ahead of his time.
djvlad vlad interview master p that'll be a good one
VLAD and Shock G NEEDS TO HAPPEN ASAP. He got stories bruh
This nigga vlad loves to mention how great of friends he is with people. “Yea, me and Lloyd banks are actually real tight. We had a sleep over, roasted marshmallows and watched scary movies together”
if he was in the vicinity of you then he will say yea I hung out with so and so lol
That’s funny as shit. True though
Reality Check LMAO....
🤣🤣🤣🤣. Pajama Party 🎈 🍿
😂😂😂
D.O.C. and Rakim were way ahead of their time. Their flows are not dated at all
So was ODB
@@angelgilmore4188 what? Lol
I disagree.
@@angelgilmore4188 ODB was similar to Biz Markie, just a little more over the tip.
Facts
vlad get some of the best interviews but he always gotta say sum irrelevant about himself. "me and doc are friends, we had dinner one time, he got fries, i had a shake" like vlad we dont care!!! lol
Hahaha. So accurate.
Milwaukee24 Sk8fam You are so right and I notice Vlad doing that shita lot lately.
Milwaukee24 Sk8Fam 😭😭😂
😂😂😂
Milwaukee24 Sk8Fam start your own You Tube channel and leave Vlad alone
“High energy flowin' with the wisdom
Sense of a rich man, knowledge and the rhythm”
The D.O.C. Is like the hip hop bo Jackson. the formula might be in my top 10 favorite hip hop songs of all time. It might be my #1 favorite song. That no one can do it better album from top to bottom is classic. The formula made me fall in love with hip hop as a kid. From all the work he did on the chronic, niggaz4life album, doggystyle, etc makes him such a legend. He wrote bosses life for snoop too.
Iceberg Slim Tupac joined Death Row....D.O.C was Death Row
@///// AMG i like that. I can hear that now that you mentioned it.
It’s Funky Enough STILL bangs hard.
obatron-one timeless song!!💯
Y'all ready for this?
Classic even till this day
Stop him in his tracks show him that i was ruthless 🔥🔥
D.O.C got pulled over by the cops the night of that accident and they let him go .... i can't believe I'm saying this they should've locked his ass up !! .... 😔
Charlie G damn didnt know that
BLVCK VIKING yeah the pigs were star struck they seen the NWA plagues in his car and started to take pictures with him lol
Cadillac Kadafi Facts...damn. They coulda saved him from himself.
oh please stop it if they would of locked him up you fools would be crying racism and white supremacy blah blah blah smh
Lolll It's All They Fault
Vlad think everybody he interview is his friend.
Young Doggie they had dinner 😭😂😂😂
He’s like a five year old
They think all other kids their age are friends with them.
Lmao
That's because he suffers from delusions of grandeur. He wants to be looked at as more than what he think he is in hip hop, as opposed to what we know he is in hip hop. He was DJ that no one really knew about then, who parlayed that into this platform. Now he can say the things he says because it his show and he's talking to a newer generation of hip hoppers who don't come from that era, that he can bamboozle into believing he was that dude and he was not. How many of you have any of his mixtapes or even knew he was a DJ....... EXACTLY
It is what it is Fam. I just keep it 1k, Like your name say all day
DOC a legend!!! He wrote all of dre's lyrics for the chronic album!!
Not true. Snoop wrote most of them.
Snoop did most of it.. dre says this
G Thang was D.O.C.
Mr Kush Nugz no rbx and the doc done the majority of his lyrics
Mr Kush Nugz no he didnt he wrote some not all though
The DOC was our Rakim. No one rapped like him on the west coast.
Rass Kass. Soul on Ice was my shit and I lived on the other side of the country.
MackinShizzaveli #WeWasCavemen Both get mad respect from fellow MCs no matter the coast.
The Doc is a legend no doubt , but the greatest emcee from Cali Is Ra's kass
I think Ras Kass would agree that DOC is that dude. Lineage wise DOC is Ras Kass' father (and Kendrick's grandfather....talking hip hop family tree on the west coast).
Just what I was thinking.
DOC needs to write a book
The DOC was definitely going to be one of the greats...Shout out to Dallas Texas
Garion Bush tf ! he is a great
That first album from DOC was a absolute banger. Classic.
I saw in the Source years ago where 2pac said his favorite song was The Grand Finale by The D.O.C
Cube and DOC owned that track
I listen to that album once a week
Keith Delbridge never gets old
Just to prove how fucking instrumental D.O.C. was/is.. Ice Cube shouted him out in the NWA R&R Hall Of Fame speech saying his apart of NWA and he deserves to be in the H.O.F. AND Snoop Dogg is always shouting D.O.C. out and has admitted D.O.C. worked with him on Cronic and Doggystyle and helped teach Snoop Dogg how to write!
Absolute legend!!
Middle School in Philly 89'...we all was bumping DOC heavy, same with NWA and Special Ed.
DOC is from West Dallas.lol Southern hip hop always been here.
Khallid Muhammed legend
Khallid Muhammed yes sir
Yeah but he rep West coast , he lived in.Compton
except in 1973
yea but hip hop started in the south bronx NYC , dj cool herc is The Godfather of hip hop
The d.o.c. could write 3 separate books one when he was with ruthless one about death row and one with aftermath and how along the way he got shafted by Dr.Dre.
Shafted? Aren't they cool?
And 1 book on how he found Eminem! He played Ems track to dr dre
@@bobm3250 That's just one page. Come on now.
DOC was the best lyricist on the entire west coast. Hands down. NO one could do it better, No joke.
He from Dallas my guy
It's gettin funky, It's gettin funky (hey) It's gettin funky, It's gettin funky. My favorite track by The D.O.C. respect...!
The D into O. The O into the C. the C into the period. sukas are fear'n this.
Damn. TO call em a GOAT would be an understatement.
speachless#
humbled#
awestruck#
I STILL HAVE THE 1ST ALBUM ON CASSETTE TAPE
NICK NICK man you got gold. Damn
So do I. Have Helter Skelter on cassette as well..
deezy81 ...
R.I.P SEAN PRICE
NICK NICK I actually meant D.O.C.'s sophomore project Helter Skelter, which was originally supposed to be a collaboration album with D.O.C. and Dre, but never materialized. I do have Nocturnal and Magnum Force on cassette as well though..
deezy81 ....
YEAH..AFTER THE ACCIDENT..HE STILL GAVE IT A SHOT THO
The Grand Finale! ! Last song with the full NWA roster before the break up. .
D.O.C. was the real fucking deal! !
Charisma
Bars
Flow
Style
D.O.C was on his way to be a megastar according to my father.
Dallas Kottonmouth D. O. C. are the best of Dallas Texas and one of the greats in Hip hop period.
D.O.C. was one of the greatest MC's before his accident. First West Coast rapper I bounced in my car. Dude was awesome and did have other CD's after his accident.
Peace to the God lord jamar...been a day 1 fan since...that unsung episode was dope.
#yanadameen
Denzel Wilcox hell yeah
I remember as a kid. Buying his first album. Classic. This guy would have been huge if it wasnt for accident
NoOne Can Do It Better is by far 1 of the Top 10 Classic HipHop Albums
DOC was one of my west coast favorites growing up. I still respect him.
The D.O.C. Is an amazing MC. Much respect for all he has done for Hip Hop music
There were a few cuss words on NOCDIB but not many. Still one off the greatest hip-hop albums of all time!!!
I Remember 1989" The D.O.C came out of no where with his new dope style at that time🎶😎
DOC from Dallas but he was made in L.A. Technically a West Coast artist.
He was rapping and known b4 he went to the West coast 🐣™️💯
@@victorporter1970 Known in Dallas not the world though
The hardest 2 MC's tht dont have to use curse words..... Rakim & The D.O.C.
DJUNKNOWNxx They curse sometime tho
Jamar, I wouldn't go that far. But he was nice, no doubt. When comparing other rappers to Pac we must remember he Transcended rap- he was in another world.
He transcended RAP dude, is that hard for you to understand? Com[paring him to another rapper don't work. He was doing much more. smh
Do ur Googles.
Well im bored an smoked out so Ill entertain U 1 las time. Lemme put this to your GoofAss in a manner your fake ass African ass can understand. One was setting them selfs up 2b a BOSS, the others were gonna be WORKERS at best. Would you compare your Boss, to your position? Naw ur broke ass an got no job or grind, now ya can KickRocks Fukboi.
And I hear that. But D.O.C was no actor. No speaker( good ass writer and rapper). A n he was in NO position to BOSSUP like pac. So I disagree with his position. Its all good though. Got luv 4 all 3.(Pac, Jamar, and D.O.C) If u look back at D.O.C'S old vids you can see he does not have the same "star" power as Pac, and I jus don mean the "political" stuff: charisma, energy. That shitt goes deeper than being a good rapper.
@@flex1481 i think that's an unfair statement due to the fact that DOC only had one album. His presence on that album and what that album meant and was showed he could've easily been that guy as far as rap goes. Thing is, one could never say because the reality of the situation is he only got to make one album and everything changed after that. So all this is really a big "what if" or "only if"
Ive been saying this 2 people my entire adult life he could have been the greatest he is in my top 5 period point blank that album he created was the first albun that touched all sides of america and hip hop Vlad please do some more interviews with D.O.C.
And he wrote a majority of The Chronic. He was crazy with the pen.
TRUTH!!! D.O.C Is The Truth... 💯💯💯
Shout out to Dallas,Tx! Home of the D.O.C
All facts.... but i will say this.... we ignore the promotion of drugs in this world as a part of the "culture of fun" ...... even simple drugs like alcohol..... but these things hinder the mind and body which causes downfalls. So even without car wreck the alcohol etc wouldve caught up if not ceased....
Lord Jamar: :Anything to the west of NY is West Coast to New Yorkers"
Vlad: "New Jersey, West Coast!"
That would be south Vlad.....
New Jersey is West and South of New York City.
Lmfaoo anything to the left of New York is west coast 😂😂
dizzy brown that’s that same arrogant shit that caused ny to fall off
That's why nobody likes New Yorkers
dizzy brown I’m from NY and that’s some dumb shit for him to say lol.
dizzy brown he's just talking but you can't ignore the truth. His word isn't in stone
Right! Doc. Book called "Nobody Does It Better".
Rest In Peace Pac baby ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🌹
One of my favorite mc's ever. He would have been top 10 all-time!!
Big Facts! Solid Proof that one mistake can change your whole life. Drive safe people and definitely don't drive under the influence of anything.
Dallas was like LA back in the 90s ask DOC I remember my neighbor made DJ Quik pack up and leave
+Vlad For the next interview you upload with Tray Dee, you really need to ask him about how he met Crooked I and what his overall thoughts are on him as an MC. That would be really amazing to see and I know a lot of people would love to see that as well.
George Kumria He has em on his latest album so he should say nothin but good thing bout em now
1. D.O.C cussed on "The Grand Finale" with NWA
2. D.O.C IS a west coast artist "i got raw when i came to Cali", Dre produced his entire album, he wrote for NWA, after NWA DOC was on Death Row as a writer, he wrote majority of the Chronic album.
Have you heard the Mind Blowing remix? Amazing!
I STILL bumps the formula! My man was dope on the beats and rhymin!
DaddyFilms That track dope. Luv that shit
D.O.C. STRAIGHT LEGEND FOR ONE OF THE GREATEST OF ALL TIMES.
Nobody ever mentions how the DOC helped MC Breed. The DOC is one of the greatest writers ever in hip hop
Interesting how Jamar didn't take Cube seriously prior to his solo projects and how he took D.O.C. seriously automatically.
Next Phase Doc was better then Cube
East coast mentally....
Haven't watched yet but FACTS to the title. STILL bang D.O.C. 💯
Havent heard No One Can Do It Better in years but im pretty sure that the song Grand Finale had plenty of cursing
The D.O.C. was fucking incredible
DOC actually did swear on his album. Listen to Lend Me An Ear and Commercial Break
"lend me a muthafuckin ear"
And that was it...
I remember when the D.O.C. here in Dallas before he blew up. The D.O.C. and Dr. Rock. I couldn't wait for his 2nd album then the wreck happened. He had a song on the radio called, hate to go to work.
Secret Plan by The D.O.C. is one of the greatest hip hop tracks ever written!
Love ya like cooked food Jamar... Dallas is the souf playa... You still my all time favorite Brand Nubain doe...
D.O.C. is the best rapper ever (my opinion) just for that 1st album. Even his 2nd was special even though his voice
"jajectory" - Lord Jamar
Jamar better give mac dre props yadidameann?
Ron O'neal mac Dre was not garbage chill out there.
"No one can do it better" is a fucking classic!!
Of all the things that could’ve happened to him in the accident he loses his voice, sucks cuz that album is a classic & the most underrated album of all time.
You can’t talk about west coast rap history without DOC being part of it.
The Formula!
Straight L.A. vibes!
A song I still play til this very day!
lol...true statement people from Texas have always had love for the west coast. Back then NYC rappers had a mentality that if you were not from there you had no credibility
sugar baby before Ice T and NWA west coast rap was shit like the Egyptian Lover LA dream Team and world class wreckin crew niggas was wearing eyeliner and shit
MrWARBUCKS24 i dont think the eye liner matters flash bam melle mel furious five kool moe dee were all wearing questionable things nwa used to rock skinny jeans
Hohepa Hape nope they was str8 leg levis 501s gangstaz no disrespect homie ✌😁😎
how would you know? How old are you? Time to drop that "baby" from yo name if you apparently remember what NYC rappers thought back then in the 80s.
I'll just say I love hip hop east and west but there were definite diffrences made between regions.
Doc was A pure Mc .. Dre lucked up goin to shamrock skating in Dallas when he met him
Clubber Lang yall sleep on MC Ren. He's Tupac but more lyrical
I fuck with ren .. shock of the hour stays in rotation .. ren fell victim to Dre tryin to sound like him on majority of the nwa songs ren didn’t get his lane until 100 miles n niggaz4life
Doc was ahead of the pack .. he was complete more complete than cube n could rhyme circles around anybody in the West at the time
Cube low key knew that n because doc didn’t need to talk that street life shit
I think “half a mill” gotta be one of the biggest what ifs
My favorite DOC song is The Formula
He did cuss on that album. On Grand Finale he said “Imma send ya Ass to the temple of doom. I got raw when I came to cali, now I’m with NWA on the mother Fucking Grand Finale”
Doc was fire . .his Albums are fire
Damn!I didn't even notice there wasn't no cussing!THE D.O.C.album was hard as fuck!
Texas is the south. I love Jamar, but come on,B! Lol
D.O.C was that dude he was my favorite out of the N.W.A camp
To be fair Helter Skelter after the accident is one of my personal favorite Hip Hop albums ever!
When doc came out everybody in louisville was riding his music, everywhere in tha city.
Born and raised in Niagara Falls, NY. I smiled when he said "Anything outside of NY is the West Coast"
I hated that shit
I still like the songs he puts out people act like he died he can still rap.
The D.O.C was my favorite Nwa member i ran down to Boss ugly Bobs record store in Memphis to buy the tape....ahead of his time
DOC moved to the west coast and was down with NWA. When he came out he blew shit up. He was unique with a nice lyrical flow. Man hip hop artist use to be so unique and diffrent from eachother. Thats what made hip hop great.
Always loved and respected The D.O.C. He was a standout rapper from his era.
DOC truly talented lyricist incredible vocalist.
The D.O.C. cursed on “Lend Me An Ear,” “Beautiful But Deadly,” the first commercial break & “Grand Finale.” He definitely didn’t curse very much, though. Damn, hell & ass here and there lol.
Doc was dope!
I met Tracy Curry (DOC) in 1988 in his hood in West Dallas
Release D.O.C.s Full interview! That’s a legend
d.o.c. was that nigga when he dropped and he played a major role in The Chronic's production. I always said that he would be in my top 10 goat rappers list if he would've been able to ride his wave out.
I have heard it said before that D.O.C. had a special gift
Do y'all think Pac was gonna sound the same even after having one of his lungs removed?
No
"Stomp him in his tracks, show him that I am Ruthless"
That Funky Enough beat still one of the best of all times
it's so sad what had happened to the DOC he could've put Dallas on the map man and he would've been the first southern rapper to blow up damn Dirty dirty Dallas TX stand up 🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Why is it that when West Coast OGs are brought up people go directly to Ice Cube? Y'all forgot about Ice T
This nigga called Dallas the "WEST COAST" lmao so Texas is the west coast? LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
It's New York mentality!
I guess the word "South" isn't in Jamar's vocabulary...
B C if you go to Florida ppl will say you’re from the West Coast
B Ch
you must not have heard that ugk keith murray and lord jamar collab
D.O.C. - "The Formula" is timeless. Real shit.
