Bennett Brook Railway 85 year old steam locomotive and lots of whistles

  • A couple of trips around the Bennett Brook Railway in Whiteman Park north of Perth in Western Australia
    This narrow gauge 1939 built steam loco originally built and used in the sugar cane industry plies its trade in retirement gently running around the park. The steepest grade is 1:75 and makes BT1 bark a bit on the climb.
    With a brief photo stop at kangaroo flats to have a sweep out of the smoke box on the second trip as it wasn’t practical to do this at the main station due to the proximity of the foot crossing, so a planned pause is taken
    Lots of whistling ensues due to the many level crossings, so if you like to hear steam whistles, this is the place for you
