8:18 Weird detail here. The horse our main dude is leading is dragging a tree-branch, which is an old trick for obscuring tracks. But he wants the women to pursue him, and the other guys don't appear to be utilizing the same technique, so what the hell? They think the women are going to follow the obscured tracks over the blatant ones?
Well with no reference words for the images or understanding of letters and just having an ABC book it's pretty impressive he learned to read ever...
So, in the eighties they could make batteries that still had power after 900 years, and I need to charge my phone every night. What happened?
A professor I'm taken this term in college wrote/directed this movie.
He's a super nice guy, pretty sharp, great teacher, and according to him there was a lot of studio interference with this, but despite that he still has a poster of this hanging next to his desk.
Well, that pretty much demonstrates what happens to your brain on college.
@Kaycee Jarrard Did he ever mention why they did the goofy future speak? It never works and they over did it in this film. I’m wondering if that was a director thing or studio thing.
"A professor I`M TAKEN this term", because grammar..
Wow, that's coo!
This dork took this shit way too seriously to begin with.
Watching in the year 3000. This was eerily prophetic.
@The raging Infernos no shit dumb ass
Lol
No it wasn't, they should've been fighting over toilet paper 😉
How's argh the awful
HOLY SHIT THAT LINKARA
"they have lots of makeup, but no mirrors to help em put it on!" 🤣🤣🤣
13:38 If Wayne's World 2 is correct, then at Keith Richards cannot be killed by conventional weapons.
I'm honestly surprised his hat was called a hat.. and not something weird. Also, best line in the whole movie.
Man, that "Nuclear Morning" song is surprisingly fun and catchy for coming out of a movie like this. Does anyone know if it's possible to find it anywhere by itself, removed from the film?
I kind of like what they were trying to do with the language thing, but I think it could've been executed better...maybe. I'm reminded of something I tried to write when I was a teenager after watching "A Clockwork Orange." I quickly realized it wasn't working out as intended and I quit while I was ahead, lol. Perhaps the folks who wrote this never came to such a realization?
17:30 hey, there's a reason they say "make love, not war".
This bomb had Karen Sheppard as one of the lead Amazon warriors, who in reality has the martial arts skills beyond scary
I am so glad that I've found your channel! I haven't laughed so much in a long time. Thank you!
Funny how the narrator just knows what words we, the listeners, would have trouble understanding.
Love the "I'M A MAN!" line!😂😂😂
When the guy said 'i'm a man' I immediately thought of Linkara and lo and behold there he is.
@@craigh5236 I immediately thought of Steve Winwood and Spencer Davis Group.
I figured out that neggi means no or negative.
I so love your reviews!!!!!!!!!! they make laugh so much and brighten my day up!
Come on, Brandon.
Can't you get BEYOND Thunderdome?!
Wait, Cannon did Superman IV? You learn something everyday.
That explains a lot.
With recycled special effects
What's absolutely terrifying is just how likely this is our future
Lol
You don't know what terrifying is. Just imagine Donald Trump in a fur loincloth.
The Nell-comment cracked me up. Good for you, sir!
Not seen anyone else mention it so...
AUTOMAN !...
He DID act in something else.
i was beginning to think he'd only had one glorious moment in a very short career.
Thomas Carnacki He was a big star in musical theater. He has been on Broadway starring in a bunch of shows.
Thanks J, that's good to know.
Awesome Review!!!!!
Nice Linkara Cameo!
Fat grandma would have been better...although, the " i am a mayun!" bit slays.
Even after a nuclear war the hair salons are still functioning. 🤣
I am very happy to see a Linkara cameo.
This was also effing entertaining. You deserve much more audience. Love you! and Happy New Year!!! :)
Lifeforce will be better than America 3000! The horror. The horror. The horror! No way!
They also made runaway train that is very good.
4:24 NOW YOU'RE A MAN!
A MAN MAN MAN!
I always catch the end of this movie on Comet TV, and now I'm kind of glad that's all I end up catching!
So this is where Kevin Costner got some of his Postman script from.
So it took humans until the year 2890 to figure out what bonobos knew all along? ;)
The funky dialog is likely them trying to ape the feral kid tribe from thunderdome, which came out the year before
Hey Brandon, you're references are on point.
Absolutely hilarious review
Funnily enough, I enjoyed this movie as a kid
Frickin HILARIOUS, just caught this flick a short while back on the comet channel... 😂😂☺
Mind if I make a request for the 1981 "Caveman"? It has Ringo Starr (yes, Ringo from the Beatles), and Dennis Quaid in it!
And they do a better job of explaining their caveman language -- not only by using it in the dialog, but having the one guy translate it into English for us in the movie. LOL
@@MasterJediDude except they never explain what zug zug is.
@@michaelkrull3331 some things need no explanation. Heh heh.
I'm from the future the year 2020. I'm also cooking some fish in the oven right now.
Thank you so much. I have been trying to find the name of this movie since I watched it late night on the space channel in the late '90s.
Korvis was the title character in an awesomely bad TV show called Automan. He played a glowing blue holographic man with a glowing blue holographic car who fought crime, because 80's.
In the immortal words of King Julian - "Make peace by breeding with your enemy!" :P
I just found your channel. Thanks for the laughs.
10:40 this is the BTTF scene where Vader goes to Vulcan and meets Spock to get the Van Halen tape to melt his dad's brains!!
12:35 - Excuse me, I'm making the Snarky jokes around here!! ;P
Cave Wumun USA.
Jesus H. Christ; the way that wumun was blown up! 😂
I actually recently watched lifeforce and its sooooooo fun, really fresh
I can't stop watching this review; Frown over dog-logs? I love it, man! I love it all!
I liked they had the slang and got into it, since it made the period piece kind of nice.
Watching this in 2022 and it's weird how none of the top comments mention that "Frau" is just German for "woman".
Chuck Wagner who played the main character was Automan in the short lived series.
I love the part where Prince Charming(into the woods) finds the Turbo-Man suit!
Ah, now here is some cult classic Cannon!
This video also includes some cult class Linkara as well.
First The Cinema Snob, now Linkara, wow, you're getting recognized by big Channel Awesome guys pretty quickly, cool.
loved the review, btw. :)
He's technically a part of Channel Awesome, actually.
Being that I just stumbled onto Brandon (good job laying on the ground, Brandon!), do you know which ep has the Snob in it?
The Snob episode is Alienator
This dude's a dork.
Hey it's Linkara! Another of my favorite Critics. Good work Brandon, very funny review.
The Lightbringer!
Classick Tenold review. (Not said ironically. I really think so. Laughed out loud on this one. Love your channel)
Really cool of Linkara to do that for ya. I hope you do a collab with someone soon, I think it will help branch you out
Lmfao! "LISA KUDROW...BEYOND THUNDERDOME"!
(She DOES look like Lisa Kudrow!)
Dead on balls accurate review, Brandon!
In the Future...BEATNIKS!!!
Hey, it's Chuck Wagner (a.k.a. Automan). I haven't seen him since the early 80's. According to the Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus website, he has served as their Ringmaster since 2005. ;)
This was one of my favorite movies to rent when I was a kid.
The dialogue in Hammer's Cave Girl series was easier to understand than the dialogue in this movie.
OH!! LINKARA CAMEO!! LINKARA CAMEO!! I love you guys
And where was the Roger rabbit soundbite!?? A,.... MAN! 😂😂😂
Oh my god that’s the dude from the short lived Automan series!
This is the best thing I ever saw.
8:51 Seriously, the guy who made that yelling is now MY FUCKING HEROE.
We'll do a preview on Electric Boogaloo and also the first breaking okay I know it's not no action but it's a really good good movies okay
Serious hair-spray budget in this movie
What? No, "Automan" references? Look it up, it would've been really funny.
I was waiting for one to.
Me three. Automan is one of the greatest television series of all time. Well, then again, so is Manimal. And Misfits of Science. And Shadow Chasers. And ... well, just kill me.
looks like that presidential room still looks good after 900 years they must be using that new 2016 machine that keeps rooms new forever
Try reading A clockwork Orange. The movie is easy compared to reading the book. I had to read to twice to get it. The craziest thing? Alex in the book is 15. Let that sink in
Awesome Linkara cameo.
Male pattern Bigfoot! Classic
Cannon produced THE APPLE? CANNON produced The Apple? CANNON?? THE APPLE??? *head explodes*
Lost Girls reference for the win :-D
The talk in this movie will drive a linguistics expert crazy.
I foresee you getting much mileage out of Linkara's "I am a man" sound-bite. :-) Great review, Brandon! Yayy!!!
Funny thing is that if someone made this movie today it would be viewed as a parody of present day feminists vs MRAs. Back in 1985 it was viewed as a joke well still is.
Man, this makes Cannon Films' MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE look like a full-fledged DeMille epic by comparison! Thank god Cannon also had LIFEFORCE and TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 2!
Brandon you should have your own show on prime time TV.
Cannon are also famous for not making Spider-man.
If they'd not made more films, they'd probably still be in business!
So it's a brutal post-apocolyptic wasteland but herbal essence conditioner is still a thing? Got it.
You should do the movie the forest from 1982! Totally hilarious!
holy crap! the line about babble fish & google triggered the siri function on my phone!
This is on tv right now, not even a single joke in this movie. The trailer narrator pretty much takes creative license.
I am a fan of a quick down and dirty language note, like "over the years the syntax become simplified and dominated by contextual cues" Then everyone just do the normal speech thing.
Oooo you have Eliminators!!! I'm crossing everything I can that it's coming up.... shit now I need to see the doctor again.
Don't know why, but this is my favorite so far...
I AM A MAN! I laughed until I cried both times that came up.
Hey I understand the dialog, and I like this movie.
I love your videos, by the way, if you ever want to do another review of another godzilla movie, I highly recommend godzilla vs Hedorah. And Also a movie called Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, yeah....... you read that right and also one called kong island, I mean... if you want to do another king kong rip off XD. I hope these help you byeee.
+Gogoji222
I'd love to see him review Godzilla vs. Megalon, but considering he's in the process of reviewing early Gamera films, I'm guessing he can only take so many Kennies.
4:15 should be "I'm Auto Man"
Menaham golan and yoram globus. Bloody hell Avi make us an offer hahaaaa
That’s Automan!
4:25 Perfect. It's worth sitting through a review of a boring sexist generic post-apocalyptic film for that moment.
Radiation really seem to help with the hairdos.
awesome film
So, funny story about that Spider-Man toy Limkara pulled out of..........Offscreenland......I found it like ten years ago at my local comic shop and promptly realized it was a cool-looking but not-actually-cool toy.
AHAHAHA! That MLP joke is solid!! xDDD
