I have both. I love both. Standard 50's gold top and Standard 60's tea burst. Craftsmanship on both is flawless. I get a better Dickey Betts sound with the 50's. I get a better Thin Lizzy sound with the 60's. But I can do both with either and they look, sound, feel and play great. My hands aren't that picky about neck shape as my ears are about sound. If you love the Les Paul sound you can't go wrong with either one.
I just bought an Epiphone Les Paul Standard 60's and I tested the 50's! Well I can say that the 60's is really a step above the 50's! Plus, I hate 50's mechanics! From now on, I have the guitar of my dreams given my level!
I still don't have a clue what to get... the 60s sounds like Doug Aldrich to me, which I love. I like the look of the 50s mechanics and fatter neck, more Ace Frehley-ish... IMO. 🤔🤯
This is not a review. To make it a review, you need to say what you think of the guitars. This is a playing demo of two very similar, identical-sounding instruments with only superficial cosmetic differences between them.
Not really, a review is subjective to the listener. These reviews without words say more than spoken ones. I don't want to know what the person has to say as much as i want to listen to for myself and come to a conclusion. A lot of times, people who review just talk too damn much and play too very little when covering guitars or amps.
@Strato13 then it isn't a review. It's a demo. You like and prefer a demo. That's fine. I prefer a demo too. But this is not a review, this is a demo.
i have 50's standard and i love it. my Fender became a corner furniture in the room since i bought it :)
NICE TO HEAR CLEAN PLAYING IN A DEMO

Which one would you say gives you a thicker, warmer tone on high gain?
I'm into the 60s Slimmer tapered neck love the iced tea color.
este es, sin duda alguna, el mejor video demostración y de comparacion que he visto en mi vida.

I'll go for the 50s
The last song is Runaway by Avril Lavigne
Great comparison. Very helpful! Except I may need both.
Very little difference in it to my ears. Maybe the feel sensation varies?
Great demo. Both sounded good in their own way. I compared two together and chose the 60s. Could have so easily chosen the 50s.
Good demo. 50’s a bit more mellow, 60’s more mids or scratchy, a little too harsh maybe - some tone adjustment should do it though?
yep, pick thickness and the harshness of your playing and itll sound closer to the 50s one but not identical for obvious reasons
50s all the way
They definitely sound like they have something the 60’s don’t despite being very similar overall
@@SelFreeLions Different wiring.
ProBucker 1 in the neck is underwound. I prefer the ‘60s, and have both one Gibson and one Epiphone, both Standard ‘60s.
Un grand BRAVO !!! Merci beaucoup 👍
Thank you,so much.

50s for sure. Thanks.
I like the 50' standard
They sound beautifully congruent.

Anyone know the song he's playing at the beginning? Or if it's just a chord progression he came up with

False. There are differences in Pots an Pickups.

I prefer a demo too. But this is not a review, this is a demo.
Thanks for your review.
They both sound equally mediocre do to the mediocre pickups.
awful review
I don't think it's a review, I think it's a sound test for both guitars to compair their sounds and to help us decide which one to buy
you just love to complain dont you, he literally said nothing and played both guitars for people to choose what they like, touch some grass buddy lol
@@M7awesat Touch some grass, buddy!! Very good!
