It depends because not all families are healthy families. If staying with family means arguments, manipulation and triangulation, avoid it at all cost. But if everyone is nice and normal and it’s just for a couple of days, make the sacrifice of a comfortable bed and private time with your partner because you can have that for the majority of the year.

First dilemma - It depends who I am friends with. If I am friends with the guy she shouldn't be upset with me because I knew him first. But if I was her friend then it depends on the situation on why they broke up. If he was in the right I would take his side, but I would say I am happy you both worked it out and are back together.
Second dilemma - If you plan on one day marrying this woman then stay with her family. If she is the one for just right now stay at the hotel.
Third dilemma - Go out once with your boss. She might turn out to be a life long friend or not. You at least have to go once.

I also like the beginning segment when you just chat with each other.

That’s my favorite too! Often, I’ll just shut off the show after that part!

Of course it's OK. Especially if you're not even married. It might make his/her parents feel uncomfortable if you're unmarried and wanting to stay in the same room. With a hotel room, everybody has their space and privacy. This is why I don't have overnight guests in my home. I prefer my own privacy and space. They can visit with me all they want during the day. I'll fix them dinner and enjoy time with them, but if they're staying the night they need to get a hotel room. I have to have that relief knowing that they will be gone at night instead of staying with me. I need that break from guests. If your partner insists on staying with their parents, you can always get your own hotel room just for you. That would be awesome. Everyone needs their privacy and space. 😊

In my 20s, it wouldn't bother me. At nearly 50 now, I need a comfy bed. 😊

I vehemently disagree with Hoda & Jenna that you MUST stay at someone's home while visiting. I hate staying at anyone's home, including relatives. It's so uncomfortable and you have to conform to their living styles and habits, no way! It's a personal preference obviously but for me I will always choose a hotel.
