its 2020 and i just bought a 2006 chevy hhr with all the feaures in it and it made me think does my car have auto start , and i tried it and it does so great help , my mom has a 2016 mazda 6 and hers dont have auto start , this just made my day
Doesn't work on mine. I have that 3rd button on my remote. My car has a dent right in the front center of the hood, maybe it affected the sensor telling it whether the hood is open/closed?
I was hoping this would show about starting the vehicle afterwards. why, when I get in do I then insert the key and turn it all the way like I'm starting the vehicle? or do I only turn it part of the way?
I had a '13 Impala and if I remember correctly, you put the key in and just turn the key to the "run" position. Don't turn it all the way like you're going to start it, although I don't think anything will happen if you do. Older cars would try to engage the starter while running and make a horrible grinding noise but I think modern cars know when they're running and won't allow that to happen, but I'm not totally sure either. Of course you've probably figured that out in the 3 years since you posted your comment, but someone else might find this useful.
I have the digital climate control in my 09 silverado. When i do auto start the climate control remains off. Can this be changed? I want heater to run while engine is warming.....any suggestions?
Is there so many time you can only turn it on an off with the remote before the car requires it be stared with the ignition key? I ask because it seems every third time I start my car remotely (and shut it off remotely), it no longer stars with the remote. This is handy as there are some weeks I don’t drive the car during the winter months, but use the remote to start the car so it runs for a bit to avoid the battery from going dead and for the engine to come up to operating temp, thereby circulating the engine fluids as well...
Lorissa: On my 2008 HHR one can program the lock button to honk when pressed once or you set it to simply flash the lights the first time it's pushed and honk the second time - which is how I have mine. This is done through the Driver Information Center (DIC) Vehicle Personalization menu. You can also turn remote start OFF through this menu so it never works. Check your owner's manual. M3alnemer: Whatever A/C or heat you had set when the engine was turned off will be in effect.
@@JayyMoney-vr7nv Yes I did actually, I learned that if the hood sensor is going off or the Engine light is on then it's not going to start. It's a sort of Safety lock
should be able to buy replacements off Ebay for cheap and then program them to work with the car. I'm not very familiar with Chevy stuff but I did this with my Toyota.
I have a 2010 LT. No hood latch wire. No "remote start" option in the DIC. Anyone know if I can swap and reprogram a BCM from an older hhr with the hood latch wire to get it to work?

It's currently -28 Celsius, and I just realized my truck I bought last summer has remote start. Amazing.

That HHR sounds like shit...sounds like it needs a remote main bearing job
