- Pre-flight checks and repairs before startup of my new 5 door 99 Turbo! Part 1 out of 2.
So I now own one of the very rarest Saab's in existence. The UK received roughly 109 5 door Turbos which were all cardinal red with the exception of a few black ones. Australia received 49 5 door Turbo's in Marble white, cardinal red (like my other one), and black. There is now only one other RHD 5 door marble white turbo in existence and this still resides in Australia.
Very nice and rare find. My uncle has a 99 GLE Turbo Finlandia with manual transmission (2 or 3 ever produced)
Wow yes that's probably the rarest of them all! Bet it looks stunning
Lolol! Spilling the oil on the valve cover filler. Every single time. That is me! 17:52 That had me ROFLing.
Didn’t know these 5-door turbos were made in white. Very cool. Hope the work goes smoothly.
Thank you! Yes they were only made in white RHD for the Australian market I believe. Only 49 exported there in total as well.
Nice to see another 5 door 99 saved. Made in Uusikaupunki!
I have two C900’s here in Western Australia, no rust but lots of sun damage and brittle plastics, good luck with getting it back on the road…
Love it!
Aha! That's where it went... (Saab Driver, Jul/Aug gave the game away - now running after replacing collapsed brake hoses and completely stripping the fuel system).
Have the DVLA done their bit yet?
And how's the red one coming along?
Ah yes it was in there! I somehow made it into the magazine 2 months running. I need to send DVLA some more paperwork but that's being a total nightmare! The red one is on stop for a minute since I've had to concentrate on other things, but I'm hoping to get back in that this month.
That is my Turbo. I sold it in 1991 after 5 years of ownership. It’s rare due to the colour and I put the Aztec wheels on because it had the horrible metric rims/ tyres on it. I’m floored because I’ve looked for it for ages and it’s now in the UK. WTF.
AMAZINGNES!!!
NICE ONE
Very nice video.
Wondering how you cleaned the inside of the fuel tank. Can you epxlain me more or less in a detailed way?
Many thanks and cheers from Belgium
Hi speaking of water pumps for 99's do you know where you can get them? Mine has been stuck at a garage for 4 months trying to find one.
Ah sorry to hear that! Unfortunately no I don't know of any. Water pump and jackshaft availability are becoming a real issue with these. It's a pity the Triumph ones don't fit since they're still available
You don't happen to have a tow bar laying around for a 900 hatchback do you? Trying to find one for mine.
Hi I have a spare set of floor mats like the front ones but they are green so might suit your car……. Let me know if you are interested.
i think by rights i saying that rust in the a pillar makes it an mot failier
