Gotta learn a song until you barf. Then start playing it in such wierd ways and remember beat one or you'll get fired.

You don´t need to play fast to sound good. Watch all the great bass players from the 70´, they played swinging. Of course you have to practice to achieve your goal, but, your goal is not the same goal in your life. Just make your playing swing and with a good tempo
