You genuinely have OCD. It's not necessarily a negative thing. So long as cleaning makes you happy 😁 Just don't be hard on your kids to be like you, their cleaning standards may not match yours and that's ok.
My favorite is the paper links. My sons are grown with families of their own. The paper links is a genius idea for all those "are we there yet" and/or "how much longer" etc. questions. I am going to definitely give them this idea. They all travel by car quite a bit and I know my granddaughter will love this. Thanks Ashley for all the great travel tips 💜💙💚💛🧡
I can remember asking my mother why we had to clean the house before going on vacation. I’d say, we aren’t going to be here, why do we care whether it’s clean or not! My mother was a registered nurse in a hospital ICU, so of course, she saw the worst that could happen to people. Then I as a mother always told my own girls, if something happens while we are away, people may need to come to our house, and I wanted it to be clean for them.
Great video …My packing tips. 1) packing list 2) keep an area with stuff you need to pack 3) dryer sheets in suitcases 4) use the hotel bag as your laundry bag 5) a few days before you leave figure out your toiletries….items that need to be packed the day of put in a shoe box in your bathroom and another shoe box in your makeup area 6) 2 panties per day of travel 7) put a fresh set of bedsheets so when you come back it’s just a nice feeling 8) check your fridge for any perishables and take out your trash from your home Car travel tips 1) pillows/blankets for kids sleep in the car comfortably ( even when not traveling) 2) plastic bag for trash 3) small cooler for drinks 4) baby wipes 5) Costco trip to get drinks / snacks 6) zip lock bags / binder clips for snacks 7) Costco has clevermade collapsible laundry totes that are great for your trunk for snacks to bring to your hotel 8) disposable utensils 9) sharpie to label your water bottles or snack bags
I start packing months before a trip. It just makes the planning and waiting so much more fun. As soon as I'm back from one trip, I start packing for the next. I have my standard packing lists for Mexico, cruises, Disney, and even for our 2023 Ireland trip.
Cleaning house before vacation is the best advice. Also when I stay at my sons' house when they leave, I wash all the sheets for them. Then when they get home they have clean sheets. I don't wash their comforter bc I don't want to ruin it so they may do that when they get home but at least their sheets are clean and their house is clean. Years ago my Mom would do that for me when she came over to watch our pets 💜💙💚💛🧡
Lol the clean house! I have been given such a hard time because my house must be clean all laundry done except what you wear out the door and I will go to the laundromat if hotel, beach house whatever doesn’t have washer/dryer. But I will come home with everything clean except again clothes on our backs. To walk into a clean house, no laundry to do, just unpack and relax before heading back to work next day! Love it
Loved seeing Tiger peaking around the door! So cute! Love your packing tips, my mom taught me the same things your mom taught you! And great idea for putting water in a rolling suitcase! Oh my gosh the paper links for the kids to rip off is great idea! Definitely love coming home to a fresh clean home!
You can also use a rolling cooler. That way you can fill it up at the hotel ice machine, and you won't have to make as many trips to get ice from the machine.
I also like to take extra clothes. Add in a jacket or sweater even though I’m going to Florida, you never know. Thanks for all the tips, I can sure use them!
Travel size/card games to play while waiting in the hotel for things to happen. On flights, Request cup and lid for yourself if you have a child. A 7 yr old next to me (my son)may or may not have spilt 2 out of 3 of my ginger ales on me today!🙃 3rd time my stewardess brought my a lid and straw. 😅
When I was younger my mom always did the goodie bags on the hour for my sisters and I. It is such a fun memory and I have started that same tradition for my kids! Love all the tips
I take a reusable laundry bag when I fly. I also take a kitchen trash bag to line the hamper. When I’m packing to leave I cinch the trash bag and toss it in a suitcase!
Loved the Video. I am a list maker. I finally Laminated mine as I find I take some of the same things. And the same for my kids, husband, and menus for vacations. I keep the lists in their luggage and the Menu I tape it to the top of the bin. I check off with dry erase marker and wipe clean when packed and then cross off again when we pack from the destination ... Just because I have forgotten a special pillow or blankie! 😜
I worked for an airline for 40 years so your video is spot on. Make sure you also have any medication, stuff for contacts, etc is also in your carry-on bag. You don’t know how many times we had people that put their medication in their checked bag they needed them & it was in the belly of the aircraft. Also very important- DO NOT put your bags on the beds in case they have bed bugs. It will get on your bags & you will bring them home. Hotels have luggage carts to put them on.
We have such similar ideas. My mom always taught me to come home to a clean house. Laundry, dishes, clean counters. I organize my dirty clothes too separate for ease when we get home. And I also have the extra toiletry bag always ready to go. I have done that with charge cords too. I have an extra bag of them so I don’t forget anything!
Another tip for trips is to ‘hold mail’. This is one thing many people forget to do. More so for safety while you are gone. Have your neighbors look out for packages at your front door. Grab it and store it until you return from your trip. Iron school clothes before leaving at 2 days worth. No stress when you return.
Anytime my family and I travel I will always pack at least an extra set or two sometimes even of clothes because especially when you have kids they could have an accident or something could spill on it you just never know.
We were flying on my daughter asked if I would hold her drink of course I did and when she got something out of her bag she hit my arm and I ended up with her entire drink in my lap. Extra clothes in carry on and the small blanket came in handy. Wet jeans are not it on a 5 hour flight. She felt so bad and I assured her I was ok and she said, I wanted my drink.
Great tips Ashley. Its as if you were in my head. We share the same tips. Your last tip (cleaning the house before you travel) is 1x of the most important tips. After a short but especially a long trip, it is such a great, welcoming feeling to come home to a clean home. There are so many tips but if you plan head, it won't feel overwhelming leading up to your travel day. Great video. 1x of your best👌🏼 😊 ✈️ 👝👜😎
Hello Ashley, hope you had a great mother's day. I also like coming home to a clean house after a trip. I make sure that there isn't any trash left in the can, and leave an empty bag. Nothing worse than coming home to smelly trash. 😒 love that bag that goes over the suitcase. Super handy. I'll be trying that out for our trip next month. Thanks. Have a great week
I keep a list of what's in each pre-packed bag, inside the bag. That way the kids don't tear apart the bag looking for something that isn't in there. We bring a smaller suitcase inside a bigger one if we check in bags for free. We tend to bring home more than we brought. We didn't have a car on one trip so we took an empty suitcase to the neighborhood store for water bottles. The hotel sold water bottles for $3 each! It was Vegas in summer, so we would have gone broke just at the gymnastics/acro meet we were there for. Each of our girls had their gym bag with their name in it for the meet. We designated one rolling carry on for those irreplaceable items. The girls put their cheer bows on their bags so they could find theirs in the mass of everyone's bags at the competition. I found a couple travel bags that have see thru compartments and roll up to carry and have a hook to hang in the closet open during the trip. Time saver for meds and over-prepared items. Small scissors, tape, etc. I also bring a few Surge protectors for the car and the room. I use the label maker to make sure we have all the cords when we leave the hotel. It helps in the car too. We use a cigarette lighter adapter for the first outlet, and run surge protectors all the way to the back of the van. If we are in the car ready to go everyone should have their charger in, or by the outlet. It's the worst when you are packed up and ready to go and someone says, I don't have my charger. Thanks for all of your tips and tricks. Most people don't know that many smaller bags will slip onto the handle of the suitcase, that's a game changer.
I pack almost like u. I start packing about 1 month b4. Lists r a must. Gr8 video. We also take a cooler filled w/ice 4 water n snacks if we r using our car. 🥰
I love the hamper item...we always just packed a garbage bag for dirty clothes but I like the hamper much more. I always try NOT to check bags...hate checking them! I too never use the hotels wash clothes...just don't like them along with their soap always bring my own body wash and luffa! Thanks so much for sharing - found this so informative especially since this is the time people will be taking some trips!! Thank you!
Thanks Ashley for the great tips. I used the laundry basket for my son who went to a week long summer camp. My husband laughed at me and said im making him into the kid who will get picked on. But man a boy at camp for a week and no showers so glad I did! I bet I started a trend when I picked him up too 😊🤣
I traveled with three small kids and dollar tree sells these road trip games on a dry erase board. The games were like when you see a fire truck circle it or a stop sign etc love those !!!! We also played the ABC game where you start with the letter A and find a word on a sign or something you're passing but you just say A in Antiques...whoever gets to Z first wins. It could not be words off of cars it had to be on road signs billboards etc. then we chose a color and count how many cars we see in our color choice and whoever gets to 100 cars in their color first wins ..time flew by and kids loved these games ..heck I would play too :)
This was so helpful you mentioned some things I would forget to pack, I love to have my house clean when I travel I will tired and I don't want to come home and have to clean
Such great ideas Ashley!! And cleaning the house before you go is a MUST for us!! We've been doing this for years so my kids alredy know & expect it. We love coming home to a clean & nice smelling home. And to know all we have to do is unpack & relax after a long trip is so nice!! 💕

Hi! We travel alot so we've been doing all of these for years, with two exceptions. These reminders were great especially since many are traveling again. Thanks! 😁
Thanks for the great tips! I make a packing list and a to do list of things to get done before we leave. Just ordered the collapsible hamper for our trip to MN. Driving from AZ! Ashley this video took me back to 20 years ago with my daughter and husband. I would pack exactly like you do. I also left a clean house behind it's very satisfying when you return to a clean house. 😌
Hi Ashley, lovely content, the flip flop, clean house, games, having laundry done the night before, are some things I must take care of before we leave for a road trip. Thank you 😊
I love to travel with a pop up hamper but we dump all the dirty clothes back into an empty suitcase and the clean in another. Since we fly a lot. Plus then we can use a smaller pop up hamper
I like my house to be cleaned before we leave too! My husband thinks I’m crazy and always says “do you want it clean for the people coming to steal our stuff”? He’s so funny!
I travel all the time and I always stay in an airbnb......extra clothes is a must. I find it that I will get a delay flight or someone in my travel group seem to always need something lol 😆 also I travel with 38 teenagers and 6 coaches that are like teenagers as well. We miss a lot of connecting flights or we just miss our flights ✈ 😕
Hola. I love coming back to a clean home. Lists are my friend. These were all great tips. Glad u were able to host ur family. TFS I hope u had a great Mothers day.
I don't think I could function going on a trip without lists. And I always have one bedroom where I put things I'm going to be taking with me so I'm not running around all over the house. I completely agree about the carry-on luggage and have essentials with you just incase. I've experienced that firsthand and it sucked. Lol. My son gave me several of the packing cubes that goes inside luggage for Mother's day which I've heard great things about. You gave some wonderful tips. Hope you have a great week.
I guess I didn't realize you were posting a video today. Weird I didn't get the notification for it, even thought I am subscribed and have the bell set to everything you post. :(
The 1st my boyfriend and I went away, he thought I was crazy to be cleaning the house the night before leaving lol it’s SO great coming home to a clean house so no, you’re not crazy 😂
Good morning! I hope you had a great Mother’s Day! Mine was great. I hope you have a good week. This video will be handy for me. The hubby and I are taking a road trip in about a week. I am a list maker for sure! 😀🚗
Hey Ashley! I want to book a trip so I can buy that carry on bag that slips right onto your suitcase. Thank you for the great content, good luck to Savy and travel safe!
We are going to South Africa for 2 weeks - day trips to the jungle, evening river cruises/dinner, winery tours. I think I may have watched too many packing videos. My head is about to explode … and my husband hasn’t been thinking about it at all. 😖
Hey guys, I hope this packing video was helpful for you! Let me know down below which packing tip or hack you want to use the next time you travel?
Your hair is looking really good. It looks a little lighter and really compliments your skin tone with the highlights around your face especially! 👍
You genuinely have OCD. It's not necessarily a negative thing. So long as cleaning makes you happy 😁 Just don't be hard on your kids to be like you, their cleaning standards may not match yours and that's ok.

Love the rolling suitcases. I gotta get sims and having a toiletry bag already packed! Thanks Ashley! 😀😍
Also love your highlights! 😉
Cleaning our house is always part of my “packing for a trip” routine too! There’s nothing worse to coming home to your house being a wreck!

Omg that puppers peaking around the corner when you were showing the bathroom toiletries was just too adorable 😍💕!!!!
I start packing months before a trip. It just makes the planning and waiting so much more fun. As soon as I'm back from one trip, I start packing for the next. I have my standard packing lists for Mexico, cruises, Disney, and even for our 2023 Ireland trip.

At 9:51 Tyger looked ADORABLE peeking around the corner while you were in your bathroom getting your pre-ready bag to show us. I LOVED that! Arlene
Haha he’s a cutie
9:59 Your dog is like "let me make sure she is doing it right" LOL
😂😂😂

I always pack a gallon Ziploc bag to put our wet loofahs in to get them home. I can usually squeeze them down pretty small to fit in our bathroom bag.

Good morning!! I also pack extra clothes and leave my house clean before I go anywhere 😊. Thanks for the tips👍🏼
Thanks for watching!
Very good tips. I used to leave our toiletry bags in our suitcases.
They were great tips!! Thank you!!! Enjoy your trip and stay safe.
Always great ideas and tips, glad you thought to share them!

Great video!!! I love cleaning the house before leaving - there's just something about walking into a fresh house after travel!
This was a very informative video!! I enjoyed it. I hope your dance trip was fun and you relaxed…
💐Hi Ashley! 👍AWESOME TIPS! You are so thorough…love all your suggestions!
Thank you Sweet Lady!😉

Those are awesome games! We’ve done the car bingo boards from dollar tree before and loved those
Great video. Really useful information. I always clean the house before I go. It's much nicer to come home to a clean house, you are so right.
Definitely agree with everything specifically not packing late and taking extra clothes... . Love the bag🤗
Doing a lot of traveling is seems this year so thank you!!!!!
Yes that is the best feeling!
My mum made a large draw string fabric bag, for dirty laundry. And if we both go away for the night we take a large bag and put both our clothes and toiletry bag. We can’t take aerosols or nail clippers metal nail files or small scissors as carry on in a plane here in Australia
Great tips for sure! Thanks!
Hi! We travel alot so we've been doing all of these for years, with two exceptions. These reminders were great especially since many are traveling again. Thanks! 😁
Can’t go on a trip without cleaning my house before we leave! Best pre travel tip ever!
Great tips! Your hair looks so pretty!
Thanks for the great tips! I make a packing list and a to do list of things to get done before we leave. Just ordered the collapsible hamper for our trip to MN. Driving from AZ! Will have a cooler for water and snacks. Will use my weekender back for our overnight stops during the drive so we don’t have to drag the huge suitcases in to hotel. Thanks for sharing!
Great ideas! 💚💚💚 💚
I like that you keep toiletries under the sink nearby for travel. Where do you store you luggage in between trips? I find putting outfits together to wear days before and after the trip helps also. Thank you
We store it on the top shelf of our closet when we aren’t using them. Thanks for watching!
Great tips! 💗
Ashley this video took me back to 20 years ago with my daughter and husband. I would pack exactly like you do. I also left a clean house behind it's very satisfying when you return to a clean house. 😌
It’s so nice leaving with it clean! Thanks for watching!
@@TilVacuumDoUsPart safe travels and good luck to Savy. God bless you.
Soooo many good tips! I like the idea of taking a blanket. I'm always cold. And that beauty bag was perfect. Thank you.
Another tip is to unpack as soon as you get back home if possible. Coming home to a clean house with empty washer and dryer helps with that as well.
Yes definitely I always have to unpack as soon as I get home
WOW...this is the best packing video ever. Wish I had saw it before my last trip. Thanks for sharing. And best wishes to Savy with her dance contest.
Happy Monday Ashley!!!
Great packing hacks.
Hope you have a wonderful week 🙂
Happy Monday!
Great tips I loved the video 👍🏽Using the pop up laundry hamper tip on my next vacation.
I love the count down tip for little ones!
Thanks!
I love this! Thank you so much this is an awesome video!!!
So glad you liked it!
I’ve never seen a carryon bag like that before that’s pretty cool, I’ll have to look into that thanks, Ashley!!
Thank you for all tips, I’ve got some good ideas. 👍🏼
You are so welcome and thanks for watching!
We use a laminated list for when we go to camp so we have a base of what we always need.
Great tips!! 😊❤ We do several of these but you suggested a few new ones which will be awesome to try for our next trip! Thank you!
Completely agree
💕Ashley, great ideas I learned one new one thank you.
So glad you liked it
Very helpful tips!!
Thank you! Wonderful tips.
Thank you!
Great tips. Thank you for sharing. I hope you had a wonderful time.
I like my house to be cleaned before we leave too! My husband thinks I’m crazy and always says “do you want it clean for the people coming to steal our stuff”? He’s so funny!

Thanks for the smart ideas! "Xpecially" so adorable!
Thanks Ashley for packing tips, enjoy your trip 🙂
Love these hacks! I’ve always worn flip flops in hotel showers. Lol.
Thank you 🙏🏾
Hola. I love coming back to a clean home. Lists are my friend. These were all great tips. Glad u were able to host ur family. TFS I hope u had a great Mothers day.
I love lists! Thanks for watching and hope you have a rest week!
I’m so glad you liked this and yes I must have lists! Thanks for watching!
Hello lovely, I have to clean the entire house before we go on holidays 🤣 the last thing I want is to clean the house after coming home.
Thanks!

I always pack one extra outfit 😊
Great advice. I'm just like you come home to clean house!!
The 1st my boyfriend and I went away, he thought I was crazy to be cleaning the house the night before leaving lol it’s SO great coming home to a clean house so no, you’re not crazy 😂
Thank you Ashley for those great tips. This video will be saved!
So glad you liked it!
Good morning! I hope you had a great Mother’s Day! Mine was great. I hope you have a good week. This video will be handy for me. The hubby and I are taking a road trip in about a week. I am a list maker for sure! 😀🚗
Good morning, yes it was a good one! Have fun on your trip!
Such good timing Ashley. Thank you as always. I’m going to find that carryon bag. Happy travels everyone. ☀️🌻🌸

Hi Ashley !!! Thank you for the great tips !!
I totally agree with you about coming home to a clean house.
Thanks for watching Patrice!
Hey Ashley! I want to book a trip so I can buy that carry on bag that slips right onto your suitcase. Thank you for the great content, good luck to Savy and travel safe!
It is amazing, I love that bag. We are back from the trip safe and sound now and Savy got 2nd overall again on her solo dance!
Good timing! Packing this week for a beach trip :)
Yay have fun on the beach!
We are going to South Africa for 2 weeks - day trips to the jungle, evening river cruises/dinner, winery tours. I think I may have watched too many packing videos. My head is about to explode … and my husband hasn’t been thinking about it at all. 😖
