I love the way you interpret themes. What I took from this is that art will always find a way. Art is important. So this show is a tribute to art and the resilience of it in the face of adversity. And yes, it’s a staple art piece: “the snail”
I know one of the tenors and the color guard members, there dad teaching my drum line. The color guard member came to my school today and helped and visuals people.
6:43 Yes, so this whole drum feature (6:17) is supposed to be reminiscent/sound like a war and gun fire(especially here 6:30 with those aggressive hits). They did this due to the fact that Matisse (the artist the show celebrates) family was apart of the French resistance during World War II. The guy you’re hearing speak is Charles De Gaulle speaking to the French people (he was a famous military general and also President of France)
Something I love about their flagline is that they have so many stops and starts mixed in with the choreo! If that makes sense?😂 like they’ll be spinning then BOOM they all have their poles stopped at 4th position or whichever, do a little dance or embellishment, and then they start moving the flags again! It looks so good from high up
I wasnt sure about you at first, but I like the life encouragement about overcoming obstacles... YES THEY DESERVED TO WIN. YOU HAVE TO BE THERE TO FEEL THE EMOTION OFF THAT FIELD
I don't know if you planned it this way but your commentary at the ballad Both Sides Now was perfectly timed. If you know the song, the info you gave about Matisse, the life lessons, paired perfectly with the lyrics of the beautiful music and visuals!
As a 40-year drum corps veteran and watching hundreds of reviews of shows past and present, I had said from the beginning of the DCI season that this would be the show to beat, but I've never heard analysis from the color guard perspective of things, so I really wanted to see how you'd react to the visuals. With the colors, the choreography, and just flat-out EXECUTION of the show, this was easily (in my humble brass and marching opinion,) the best guard show all year! Looking forward to seeing more of your reaction videos!
Enjoyed your reactions, although the video cut away from some incredible guard moments I’m sure you would have enjoyed. As far as the show theme….This video does an awesome job of explaining the Cut Outs theme and how BD brought it to life. ruclips.net/video/cjNxsq2G-rc/видео.htmlsi=qSsAk8zWWbMwn8SC

Nice idea - pit gets to entertain the crowd during setup
i feel like she chooses the bad videos on purpose🤣🤣🤣🤣
I can’t watch this b/c of the props and electronics used to play the music.
I’m not a fan of the new stuff.🤦🏽♂️
too bad for you
