Surf Dog Ricochet "Surfs" W 6 Yr Old Severely Disabled Boy

Aaron is 6 years old & has spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). He is very fragile & it had rained the night before, so they couldn't actually get in the water, but Ricochet was still able to give him a unique experience at the shore. SMA, a disease that affects the nerve cells in the spinal cord, taking away the ability to walk, eat, swallow or breathe.
Ricochet has been surfing with children and adults with challenges since 2009 when she made an independent decision, to jump on Patrick Ivison's board. Patrick is quadriplegic, and it was the first time a dog helped a child in the surf as a form of assistance, surf therapy, healing and empowerment. Since that day, Ricochet has surfed with hundreds of kids with special needs, people with disabilities, wounded warriors and veterans with PTSD.
