    Complaining for the sake of complaining. Tav made one big mistake which Butland dug him out for other than that he had a goal and assist. This podcast relies on sensationalism.

    Literally embarrassing the revisionism around Kris Boyd. The idea he was “phenomenal” or dessers shouldn’t be used in the same breath is insane. Reality is they are very comparable. Neither good enough to lead the line against good sides and fire us to titles

    • @Demondoink1
      @Demondoink1 3 месяца назад +1

      Dessers has played at a higher level than Boyd. Dessers has played in Holland, Italy etc and done well in Europe. Boyd, while doing very well domestically, done nothing in Europe and moved to Englands second tier after leaving Rangers. Its funny how Boyd is so highly rated in hindsight when someone like Steven Naismith actually went on to prove himself at a much higher level- excelling in the Premier League for a very good Everton side.

    • @rangersnut
      @rangersnut 3 месяца назад

      @scottmcdougall6854 I disagree Boyd wasn't the best of our great strikers, but he was a lethal finisher and he was a cut above Dessers. We haven't had a striker yet since 2012 that was as good for the club in terms of winning trophies and skills and goals as almost any striker prior to that time. Hopefully Igamane could be the one, but I don't want to heap pressure on the lad, hopefully he does well though. I never liked Morelos and his petulance, for me he for all his Euro goals, he was lazy and overweight. The guy could have been a huge star like past Rangers strikers and loved by all, had he screwed the nut and maximised his potential and trained and lived the right way.
      For what we have just now Dessers is doing well. He will be more appreciated if he can cut the big Jessie side out, with rolling around and moaning constantly. When he focuses he can be at least good against some of the smaller teams in the league. Which is where most of his goals will and have came from. Maybe he has more to show in a second season and there will be Euro goals and goals against Celtic that can swing the title our way. If he has that in him , he will become an absolute legend. I would love to see it, but I wouldn't bet on it being reality.

    Stevie looked like his feelings are being hurt over a bit of banter, which isn't like him in all the time I have watched him. He normally appears to like a laugh. In regards to the Jack and the bean stalk comment, I am sure he would normally laugh more, but he looks worn down by people picking at him.
    I think it stems from the amount of people picking at the guy online. Some of it is verging on bullying, when someone is being affected like that. He looks really fed up with it all. I think when someones well being is being affected that the time, whether you like a laugh or not, a real man knows when he is upsetting someone and knows when to back off and leave them be.
    For those that either don't like him or don't agree and are getting upset by him. If you feel that bad, go and touch grass or do something else. You don't need to watch and listen. For some trolling Stevie has become a sport between them and makes them feel like big shots. Leave the Lad alone. He is coming on here to stoke debate for everyone, to chat about football and bring bits of news. No problem with folk that disagree with his or any opinion, mine included, but some of the chat towards the guy is getting quite personal. So from me to those folk I say just bloddy stop it. Its weak sauce to take your own unhappiness and lack of power or control in life, out on others online or in life. Be better. There is no problem if someone doesn't like someone. We all have folk we don't like but just leave others be if you don't, especially when it is a person not doing you any harm
    All the best Stevie BTW. Do not let idiots get under your skin. It must be very tiresome some days but chin up my man. I appreciate your efforts and many others do as well. Derek as well. Thanks to you both.

We can't cream oursleves everytime we beat a wee team. We can enjoy it and be happy but let's not go over the top. The size of club we are, we should be beating these teams handily and challenging Celtic.

    I thought Boyd was crap. He scored goals and don’t get me wrong, I cheered when he did. His overall play was terrible and when he played, Rangers didn’t. If you want him in ahead of Prso and novo, it’s no good. He only scored against the bottom half of the table regularly. I’d put Naismith and miller up front before Boyd too. With Dessers it’s a little similar but he is a far better player than Boyd ever was. If Iggy can add goals to his game it will be a no brainer to drop Dessers but he is young and learning.

    • @rangersnut
      @rangersnut 3 месяца назад

      Boyd was class for us. Probably and Novo as well. All legends of the club for me. Boyd was a great finisher and goals win games.

    • @reallyannoyingguyrighthere
      @reallyannoyingguyrighthere 3 месяца назад

      @@rangersnut yes, he scored many goals and I did celebrate and enjoy those goals. I just never felt we played well with him in the team. We had to carry him until he buried his chance. I thought he was lazy and preferred the other 4 I mentioned. They were all just better. It’s all opinion but I just don’t like players like him.
      I loved Novo, loved Prso, Naismith, Jelavic, Miller etc. I just always felt he didn’t do enough. He did score but when he started, we didn’t play well and his goal scoring record didn’t do it for me. If Dessers scores 30 this year and we play badly, I’ll think the same. If iggy comes in and gets 10 but everyone starts playing well, I’ll just prefer Iggy.

    • @rangersnut
      @rangersnut 3 месяца назад +1

      @reallyannoyingguyrighthere Inzaghi was a striker I really liked. It was an art form to him to make defenders think he had switched off and then like all penalty box predators he came alive and got the goals that win the game. Boyd was the same. I used to watch Kenny Miller and sometimes he had a good game , but at others he would run a round like a headless chicken. Some fans would go, look how hard he worked though and I was like great, but we didn't win. Even Kenny Miller in my eyes was better player when he played as a younger player being more of a focused penalty box striker. I rememver him scoring 4 in one game, and as he pushed more to add other things he lost some of that pure finishing ability. For me the rest of the team is there to do all the hard work and striker burns them. I know there are different types and obviously it's cool you like what you like, just for me I like a proper poacher. The likes of Negri, Arveladze and even Mols come to mind for us before his injury. McCoist as well. I loved watching boyd hit the net for us and he was one of us and a fan as well. You could see how much it meant to him.

    • @reallyannoyingguyrighthere
      @reallyannoyingguyrighthere 3 месяца назад +1

      @@rangersnut I really do not doubt that he was a massive fan and I like certain poachers as well. I just think as the game moved on, we see less and less poachers. By the time Boyd came along, it was starting to change in my opinion. I like Muller cause he could ran the channels in order to hold it up. I agree, he had bad games for sure. When we played 2 up too, I liked a little and large combination. Foists and Hatelel, Prso and Novo and Jelavic and Naismith. I never felt Boyd’s could play up front by himself. That was my main issue with him. If we were away in Europe, I never thought “right Boyd’s got this”. I just didn’t have the confidence in him. If we played Celtic, I never thought he was gonna get one. If we played anyone in the bottom six, I knew he might bag a brace. I never wanted rid of him, I just rarely want him to start. Like you say, it’s a preference thing. I loved a poacher in the 90’s when we got into the 2000’s and 2010’s I just didn’t think they were as effective for us. An Inzaghi would’ve been perfect. Shearer was amazing it’s just we couldn’t get lads like that.

    • @rangersnut
      @rangersnut 3 месяца назад +1

      @reallyannoyingguyrighthere Well we did have some really good strikers then. I loved Boyd as a player and sometimes I think he was unfairly left out when he was scoring for fun. Still to each their own. I miss the little and large striker combination upfront. The game has changed but not for the better for me. I liked our tradition of having a front 2. Still as I say, I respect you have your own view. I just hope that in my lifetime we get back to seeing a truly great Rangers team again, one we can all love like those teams.
      Since 2012 and even with the Euro run and 55, I just haven't had that level of fondness for the likes of Tav, Goldson, Borna or others. The one player I really loved in recent years was Bassey. I liked Aribo a lot as well. Recently Barron has the capacity for me I think to become a potential favourite. It's not all bad. I just miss the days when we were top dogs and were filled with class.
