I'm have been a beginner for two years, and mastered a few things, but now want to start with making my own tops, skirts, etc. Thank you for explaining the correct way to use the Singer dress form. I purchased it on sale at Joann's. Thank you again! 🪡✂🧵
Thank you for your response. Just be careful with it. You want to make sure that you are spinning the dials evenly all the way around. What do you think of it so far?
@@sewingwithmaryrose love her! She doesn’t complain about being stabbed with pins like my friends do! 😂 And I’m beginning to experiment with draping for the first time… so fun!
@@livyourlife2039 It has been fun draping projects, Enjoy your singer 150. I think your friends are happy you have your mannequin as well 😆 This is my first mannequin as well. I am just so happy that I have it! It has been such a timesaver!
I wish stores had men's versions more available. I first started sewing men's clothes and always wanted to body double. I can totally see how helpful it can be. Great reminder about adding padding to those places where we might be irregular. (Is that the nice way of saying lop-sided? LOL). That tape measure looks SUPER helpful and I'm sure knitters would love it too! Thanks again for sharing : ) -Best, Chip 😀
Yes, I agree, they should make male versions more readily available. I did find an adjustable male garment form see link below. You might also consider getting a smaller female version and padding it (link below) Thanks for stopping by! Thank you, this video was short and straight to the point which I prefer. and very helpful. Is this dress form/model adjustable in the body length, ie nape to hip??
Thank you! I just got one today, I have all of the measurements except for the lengthening or shortening the waist. It tells me that I have to go underneath and turn something but I'm really unsure how to do that.
Hello! Yes, you are able to lengthen the torso up to approximately 2” longer but not shorter on the small/medium Singer 150 dress form. When you are on the inside of the form, there is a while pole that extends from the neck down through the center of the form. At the end of the white pole, there is a pink plastic overlay with 3 notches with a red adjusting handle over the pink plastic overlay with 3 notches with spaces for the notches to catch on. You need to move / turn the red adjusting handle to move up the notches to increase the length of the torso. Be very careful when adjusting it. I suggest putting it in a sofa or bed. It’s not easy and it takes a bit of muscle to adjust it.
@@sewingwithmaryrose Thank you, I've got it all adjusted except for the neck and I still have to raise it 2cm for the height but it's all pretty exact right now. I'm just 5'2 inches.
Hello! You could tape the bottom bar and then tape the top bar to the bottom bar to prevent it from slipping down. You could use wide packing tape so it will hold up. I hope this helps.
Hi! You could try putting a rubber band right below the area on the pole you want it to stay and tape it with wide clear tape so that the tape is on the top and bottom and covers the tape. I hope that works for you.
@@sewingwithmaryrose Thank you I really need this information and I just can not find it on the Ytube I was excited to find you and then I just could not hear it, I hope you don't think I was being ugly. I was just letting you know. Have an awesome day.

I hope it is helpful for you. I really do love my dress form. You just have to be very careful with it and open each section a little at a time so it does not break. can you demonstrate how to make the dress form taller using the tightening screw?

I have been working on it, but sometimes I do NOT want it to rotate while pinning, is there a way to lock it in place?

remember to adjust the head dial too!
