Oh thank you for sharing the making of your bodice block and mentioning that each toile takes three to four hours. It's so good to have realistic expectations!
Thank you so much , very useful information and very encouraging....I have had my mannequin for many years and have never used her ...I will definitely start now!
Dress mannequins are very handy for all the reasons you mentioned..I have been sewing for myself and others for 60 years and love seeing your enthusiasm on your dressmaking journey.
The verticality limitations are what’s stopping me from fully using my mannequin. You are lucky to have it right for you. I have to pass the shoulders to effectively lower the bust, as my bust typically required lowering a dart. But then I’m a bit stuck, because my bust to waist is shorter. So I’m dialing her all the way down, rebuilding her to my oddities.
Loved this Jayne, thank you. Love her spotty covering! I borrowed my friends lady valet one when I made my ball gown, but I'm wondering if I need one where the body splits to lengthen the torso. I'll definitely research before buying, but I do like the big dials on the front as they look much easier to use xx
Loved info about maniquin. Pattern designing bodice block by Natalie Bray best I've tried, also back length best taken from where necklace sits on neck.
Ew I love your top. Would you mind sharing what pattern it is? It looks really lovely. Great tutorial too. Thank you for taking the time and trouble to share your knowledge.
Hi thank you …. Mabel was bought from here sewing-online.com/adjustable-dressmaking-dummy-red-polka-dot-available-in-2-sizes-sew-stylish.html I love mine so much xxx
I bought a vintage dress mannequin I have misplaced my remote control for my mannequin it's like yours but mine is a brown bit grey one and I've been out I've been on Internet and all over please could you advise me where I could get a replacement remote thank you my name is Mrs Donna
Hi Jayne, it’s me again so you can guess I’m binge watching your vlogs! This vlog is so helpful as I’m thinking of getting a mannequin. There’s only myself and hubby so I don’t have anyone to help me with measuring or fitting so I think a Mabel would be very helpful to me. Could you tell me if you can adjust the body length on this model or do you think you that necessary? I don’t usually have to lengthen or shorten body lengths in patterns so I think I’m probably average length. Also, size wise I’m falling between small and medium so should I go small and pad it a bit or go medium? Thanks so much in advance.💕

That was so useful. Thank you! Are you able to lengthen and shorten the torso?

I am watching as I have seen one on sale in my shop for sale and
need to anything because I don’t know anything if I can get it or not?
❤❤❤❤❤
Bought mine from the company in your description about 7 years ago. She is called Coco and well worth the money as you get a much better fit.
You definitely do … I think they’re just so useful to have xxx
Lovely Vlog . I have padded my mannequin out for my rounded back and full tummy. She is now very useful
Why not try watching Nick Verreos draping a bodice. Very easy and accurate when you have a dress form.
I forgot to mention, does it come with lengthened or shortened finish for someone maybe with those issues?
Some really good knowledge sharing here, love your accent Jayne!
Total coincidence, I just got mine today and called her Mabel 😂
Oh did you that’s wonderful 😍
Where did you start from in making a toile?
Great blog, may l ask where did you buy Mabel. I am very interested in buying one for myself .Looking forward to see your next step 😊
