John the Baptist began to question his faith when Jesus was not meeting his expectations or ideals. Many people today go to church seeking a Jesus that conforms to their personal desires rather than the Jesus revealed in Scripture. Jesus' response to John the Baptist and to the crowd teaches us to let go of our personal preferences and to seek and trust Jesus on his terms.
