Its such a shame the XFM studio wasn't filmed, I'd love to see the look on Steve's face after the stuff Karl says about him
There was a fair bit of it that was filmed on webcams for the ricky gervais website back in the day, if you look hard enough you can find a few clips. They are few and far between though. I remember hearing someone had a lot of them downloaded on their computer
Shame they don't do another animated series. I still watch the three series to this day .
There was a webcam running all the time.. but it isn't what you imagine. It was an image that updated every few seconds. Sometimes Ricky would bring a camera in to film stuff like popping the cork onto Karl's head

I haven’t heard of the rockbuster bands but I still enjoy hearing Karl’s “clues”

Yea.. defo do educating Ricky before rockbusters. I would still react to it eventually tho! If you just accept you won’t get the clues… it’s still just funny to hear Ricky getting angry at Karl!!
I'm actually amazed that you said 'Maths' the first time, apparently without even thinking about it!
I'm English and didn't know half of the bands or singers used in Rockbusters, but i still love listening to it either in the XFM shows or as a compilation. Karl's clues are hilarious, as is Ricky's anger at them not working or being offensive, and Steve generally just hating the game and mocking the terrible prizes.

The Godzilla gag was in reference to Steve's height, and the Blakey reference was similar to the tall character Blakey from ITV's 'On the Buses' a miserable inspector, a foil for the main characters to play against.
I might get noise complaints for my reaction to Karl's owl text.

8:57 nah...i can't be SURE, as i don't know them personally, but my suspicion/ intuition isn't that Karl is "bad at his job". i think Steve feels he's entitled to delegate Ricky to doing what is really just personal favors for him because Karl works there ......the thing is tho: Karl doesn't work FOR Steve. therefore, as far as job title hierarchies go, professionally - for this specific job / company - they are equals.

I think the 'free ticket' problem is unacceptable tbh.
Steve thinks he should get a free ticket just because he was on the radio, earning a really decent wage, whilst regular nobodies have to work long hours for paltry wages and are forced to pay silly money for crap seats, and that's if they don't have to stump up more from a ticket tout.
I hate privilege for the privileged whilst the vulnerable have to make do or have to pay extra for the same.

I guess Rockbusters are 40% American; 59% British and 1% Other - BUT HERE IS THE THING - it’s irrelevant if you know the bands or not. The comedy lies in the lousy clues that Karl comes up with, and Ricky’s furious reaction to these clues.
I would love to know how watching these shows and the other videos on UK culture has influenced your opinion on the British, too often the stereotypical idea of an English person is based on a very biased and small cross section of UK society mainly what the media want to present, which is largely a middle to upper class south Eastern perspective. I'm just curious what your take away impression is now that you have seen more of what the people are like
