It was a Yugoslav league game and in that game the opposing team (Olimpija Ljubljana) played their youth team, due to a mistake made by the club administration (their senior squad wasn't registered to play the game). So that is hardly something to brag about.

Daniel D, Petrovic died before he could make a real impact in the NBA. Sabonis was too old when he came in. 2. Bot of these guys won more medals and personal awards than Dirk on international lvl. 3. When Dirk won the MVP it was already i different game, defence was not nearly as tough as in those guys era. 4. Look at people that Petrovic and Sabonis had in their positions and look at who was DIrk playing against. Sory, but you can be a fanboy all you want I watched all off these players play in their prime, so no, Dirk is not the European GOAT even if he won 3 titles like Kukoc.
Gal1njo the only truth is that the best european players of all time that have made great things in the nba are: nowitzki, pau and marc gasol, sabonis(he went too old and with an injury on his knee and he played like a god), petrovic (he could be a great player with many all stars and maybe he would have won the NBA championship) , parker, kukoc, divac, stojakovic, schrempf and maybe kirilenko.
But there are so good european players that didn't play in the NBA because of different reasons, so we must add to the list players like: Navarro (he went 1 year to the nba, he did a good season and he made the 2nd best 3 pointer record in a season for a rookie in the history of NBA), Diamantidis, Teodosic, Spanoulis, Llull (I hope he'll go to the Houston Rockets because he is soooo good), Reyes, Rudy Fernandez, Epi, Jasikevicius, Delibasic, Bodiroga, Arlauckas, etc. There are european players who didn't play in the NBA that are better than players who played in the NBA. For example, in my opinion Navarro is better than Kirilenko.
PD: Ibaka, porzingis and antetokounmpo are already young and they can add to the list if they have good careers.

What a different game back then a lot of efficient short rand mid range shooting and taking it to the bucket . No one was jacking up 30 three point attempts a game for 27 percent . God I miss the old NBA!

I am Cratian. Dražen was so amazing even before USA. His story is about work, work (but we all did see his talent), first one before training 6 o clock, and the last one to leave. So nice to hear good comments from Americans about Drazen, I came to USA (from Croatia) September 93, just few months after his death. There was no internet, we listened to NBA news on the radio, 5 minutes every day, we had no idea what was going on there. Cheers to all Bball fans!
I start to love the game after i saw Dražen Petrović play with Cibona-Zagreb,the best basketball team in Yugoslavia in these years82-86,they smash all European basketball clubs (amathers)and they won the European champions cup for 2 time in 2 years,and Cibona took these cups,very easy.Remember one thing,in these years Europe basketball teams was very good and stringa,almost all clubs was good,and a lot od players who play in these years signed for NBA teams,and this was the first time that NBA took some players who cames outside of USA.Ok Dražen was the machine and others of his team mates was good,beacose the national basketball team of Yugoslavia was one od the best in the world.They won every cup what exist in basketball, the Olimpic games too!!!!They always play and fight in the finale of all of these cups and won against Russia- SSSR,Lithva too.And this dominant era contine from the 70's to the and,when Yugoslavia stop to exist in bloody war,even the first and defenitely the best,USA basketball DREAM -TEAM in Olimpics od Barcelona 92'(Magic,Jordan,Barklay,Ewing,Bird,Stocton,Drexler,Malone....)almost lose and that game against Yugoslavia was very,very hard for the NBA stars and Yugoslavia make a hard time for Dream-team shooting grom the distance for 3 points,NBA teams and a few players practice this style od playing in these years.Yugoslavia players was the masters for distance shooting,and they shoot for 3 points all the time.Afther Barcelona Olimpic games in 92'nothing remain the same in basketball world.USA recognize one thing: basketball exist not only in NBA leage,good teams and exelent players exist and play in others countrya too.When some of this players came in NBA its not easy for them in first years.The style,the rules and kind od playing was two different world,but Dražen Petrović,Toni Kukoč,Vlade Divac....make to NBA stars a hard time.But Dražen leave us too soon and too young.He die in car acident in 1993.He show more od his magic and that is for sure.😭😓😞😡😡
Just to correct you:
In 1992 Dream Team didn't play against Yugoslavia, it played against Croatia so it wasn't the full force Yugoslavia team (no Divac for example). But one of the reason that Dream Team came to be WAS that Yugoslavian team which was regularly beating all of the USA selections before that in various competitions. So they had to send the absolute best to beat them. And were comparing 18 mil people country against 300 mil people.

sctmprn ok lets be real. He was a good player but would’ve been a 3x all star max in his career. What helped him look good was the fact that he entered the league at 25 with years of professional experience in Europe. In his last season he was 28 which is where you start your prime and he was averaging 22/3/2 which is good but would probably just be enough for an all star selection. If he hit his peak he would’ve probably averaged 25/4/3 on slightly worse fg% and 3p%. Facts are though is he is an influential player for Europe but not the best. And he isn’t one of best players of all time let alone top 100 player of all time.
