Hey Tribe! We hope you enjoy our last video of Ascension Island. I think it's fair to say this spot in particular- Botswain Bird Island, was one of favorite stops this season. So stoked we get to share our crazy adventures there with all of YOU! Are you guys ready to set sail to Brasil or what!?
What a great episode guys! I almost cried....because of the underwater new experience for the girls....reminds me a lot of my first dives. Miss diving a lot :-( ...not doing it for the last 6 years, family prioritys. eheheheheh. Keep it going and "boa estadia no Brasil e não esqueçam de provar a caipirinha".
I teared up at how sweet Brady and Brian are for teaching Elizabeth and Lisa how to dive. Their happiness afterwards was wonderful to watch. Thanks guys!
Thank god Brian was with Blue in the cave . I don't know what would have happened if he wasnt there to help pull her out of the cave. A great captain ,leader and best friend who never hesitates to take on any challenge for the sake of his crew ! Brian .... you're awesome !
I think they are all incredibly beautiful in unique ways. I'll say Alex's composure after that was either absolutely fantastic, or greatly edited. That was scary as hell.
Cave diving is a different category on diving. Dive planing, safety equipment, contingency planning are different. Glad everyone is safe. Live & learn.
i'm in my 60s and if somebody was to ask what will you miss when you're gone - viewing SV Delos vlogs would be in the top 10 for sure, so glad to have been along for the great ride since Mexico, best wishes Delossians
I'm almost 70 and can't ever sail again (Illness for the past couple of yrs) after a lifetime of sailing BUT these videos take me there in ways the old days never could. No drones or Internet, no radar, GPS, nada but sailing the old fashioned way in the 1950s when I started boating. Patreon is the greatest use of the Web I have seen thus far. Enjoy living the dream and making memories for a lifetime but most of all, be safe. Survive the adventure. Get some spare parts and 3 of anything your life depends on. A sail kit for the dinghy is good. Thanks for keeping it clean enough for kids to watch and enjoy and get hooked on! You / they, truly are some of the luckiest sailors I have ever seen as you ride the start of an incredible wave into the future and make money living your dream. Do you really know how amazing what you are doing is and the time you are living in,,, REALLY is?
WOW the videos they are putting our are incredible. How many sailing videos ever show you scuba diving and getting sucked into a cave, NONE. No one even comes close to what SV Delos is putting out there. They not only raised the bar but they set the bar also. Great job Delos.
I'm addicted to watching SV Delos. If I own a TV Channel, I would negotiate with you to buy all your episodes. I don't think I will lose money... Congrats!
No other sailing vlog has such a well-honed grasp of sympathetic character development and story. You’re consistently delivering the very best content, both entertaining and educational. Anyone can throw up salacious video of bikinis and parties for a few likes and subscribers (indeed, I was initially put off by some of your earlier efforts), but you’ve clearly learned that respecting your viewers earns our respect in kind. Thanks!
I've been following your channel and adventures for a few years now and always admired your adventures and ability to put them together so as to make sense for us to enjoy. But I noticed something this episode... Brian, you. You have changed alot physicaly and its for the good I can honestly say I've seen what happiness looks like on a person, you've gone from dim to bright over the years and it shows and in this episode not only do you wear happiness well but it seems as though contentment has joined you as well. To all of you on Delos, safe passage, fair winds never stop being amazed at the wonderful life you have been blessed with and the lives you touch along the way.
From start to finish....just perfect. Imagery, music, story and editing...all perfect. I'm so glad we have you guys sharing your life and adventures with us.
Hey Brian and Delos crew! Another really sweet adventure. You all have really got the most winning combination.... hitting a perfect balance of sailing, diving, exploring and entertaining personalities. I really appreciate that you guys have never done anything cheap or tawdry or clickbaitish to lure watchers. A really good hearted bunch of sailors, you deserve all the success you have achieved, lightning in a bottle I think is the term. Good on you all!
Honestly , this is beautifully addicting . So calm and relaxed with so much going on . You bring us to places where few have ever gone and we see what you see . This is magic !
Yes, this channel tops it all. I am watching your journey the 3 rd time. I would like to live on H. Or A. Island life is very special. I lived on an island for 3 months, slept outside. Coming back to Los Angeles I felt like dying being in homes, rooms. It felt like not being able to breath. Yes A. And H. are very special. Thank you.
Amazingly beautiful! Possibly the best episode yet. I got kind of choked up contemplating the impact that you guys have had on Elizabeth and Lisa's lives.
The series just gets better and better! Nothing against the other channels, they do a good job as well but you guys are really hitting your stride right now! The flow of the videos along with the comradery between you all makes for some fantastic episodes! And the places the scenery, "EPIC" as you all like to say. Thanks for sharing the story with us stuck on land with the jobs dreaming of what you all are doing.
Cave diving is no joke and takes special training, I know you are competent divers just be careful in an overhead environment, most caves or wrecks look inviting and safe but you can get in trouble quickly. If you are going to do it consider taking some Intro to cave or at least cavern training. Stay safe Delos Crew.
Been reading the comments and you're the first person to bring this topic up. Cave diving is no joke, and many an experienced and skilled diver have lost their life do so. I was literally terrified watching that clip on my sofa!
There are a few things I appreciate about your videos. 1. The positive nature of your stories. You could focus on the inevitable “drama” that always occurs in a group. But you don’t! 2. Learning about new places around the world. From Ascension, to the Skeleton coast to Madagascar. 3. Learning about new things, namely, the Mavic Pro and the Still Spirits Turbo. Both new hobbies of mine. Keep it up!
My new favorite show by far.. seen 164 episodes in 5 days now, since we are still on semi lockdown here in Norway . Great crew and cant wait to see the next passage.. OHHHHH, and a big shoutout to Brians mecanicskills. Dude im building cars from scratch including wiering, but you are on a different level mate 👍👍keep it going, and im really looking forward to the next 160+ episodes i have left. Youre beer chest will get a donation tomorrow 😊👌 happy sailing
Richard Mette Most RUclipsrs collab and pick up subs from other creator audiences. That's what I've mostly seen since subbing/watching daily to weekly vlogs onRUclips since 2009. Living in L.A. has an advantage with that, too. And, being able to upload 2-7 times per week helps. But, once those wifi satellites are in orbit, sailors may be able to upload regularly in a few more years. Patrion has been fantastic too.
@@garymango I saw something about Delos on RTL (one of the biggest german TV channels) so I guess they finally made it but why they still dont have 1 mio is beyond me.
I lost a friend freediving the same way. He was freediving for lobster (at night) off Santa Barbara Island with some memebers of my dive club and he got sucked back into a massive cave. We think there is an exit for the water, so there was no 'rebound' after the surge. The other divers on the boat found him the next morning. He was one of the best freedivers I know, with decades of experience. Glad you guys made it out safe, the ocean is one unpredictable place, but we still love her.
Such a beautiful and amazing group of people from all over the globe. ...amazing experiences and caring for one another! So proud of Liz and Lisa! Great job by Bryan and Brady- helping them along the way! Karyn, you are so sweet with a tender heart !
Another brilliant video. Although I tend to expect nothing less from the Delos crew these days, being able to witness the awe in Lisa as she spoke of her dive puts everything in perspective. You are creating life changing moments and making everlasting memories. Thanks for taking us along for the ride.
Fantastic video. Each better than the last. With that cave adventure, we realize how really remote you are- can't screw up. No matter how beautiful, Brian fixing stuff is still my favorite. Sending beer money from Denver.
THIS is your BEST video yet! The imagery, the music, the expert editing... I actually cried as you’ve evolved from bloggers - to movie 🎥 makers extraordinaire! Thank you 🙏.
Biomirth Agreed! I appreciate they list the music 🎶 with timestamps. I went to the link they provided, downloaded it and played it over and over, like their video.
delightful watching the new diving experience reactions of liz and lisa. what an original thrill. Both had some very dear comments about learning to dive. fun to watch. learning to dive on Delos is quite an exclusive school. I must say i am envious. have fun all !
Love seeing the diving videos again. but seeing Alex get sucked backwards, yikes! Got me in a bit of a laughing fit, when Kazza said, "excuse me", Liz said she "never spat". :-D I love waking to The Delos Crew adventures, you succeeded in giving me; a small fright, a huge laugh, and another ear-to-ear grin, which should keep me going until the next episode. Thank you Delos Crew, love you all!
Another outstanding chapter of the best sailing adventure on RUclips. The haul out, the dive, the cave, the danger, thanks mates. Alex Blue an SF Giant fan? Atta baaabe!
Pool water at a 5 Star resort is less clear than the oean water at Ascention Island. This is some of the best reef footage on RUclips. Anazing job, guys!
since you guys are about 6 months ahead of your videos...where does that put you coming into 'hurricane season'?? cuba? columbia? shame you all miss mexico...meaning, all you 'round the world' sailors. delos was lucky enough to have the trip down the baja coast, though no one spends enough time, and it's nearly a thousand miles of 'ascension' type vistas that include much more sea life than i observed in your videos of ascension...plus, if you want to be shit on by birds while anchored, we have islas marrietas here in the banderas bay...hahaha. you guys have a great boat and a great crew. it's been nice to see a little more 'revelation' and a little less 'ego' in the videos. a tip; show don't tell. it's really more of a rule. hahaha
Hello Delos! I have just finished watching ALL your videos from episode 1 having only discovered your wonderful productions about 6 weeks ago! You have exhausted me! Your videos are wonderful, the underwater footage is captivating and I particularly enjoy your passage videos. Brian, I have often admired your team building skills which are a combination of crew selection and man management! I wish I had those skills. Karin and Brady are super in their support of your mission and the crews you select are quickly loyal and effective. Your choice of vessel is I think excellent, I have always liked the sail options you get from a ketch and the safety two masts give you. The sail you call a bloomer, I have called a BLOOPER for the past 50 years! Your off passage activities are fun and I must comment on Lisa (Austria) and her pixielike/fairy personality and the oofle dust she spreads over the boat is quite magic. I know you have reached the Carribean ( Rick Moore mentioned you had visited) but I have only watched you to Ascension Is. Still, I look forward to your series continuing and hope the completion of your circumnavigation continues safely! Keep up the good work! Enjoy!
Lol Binge watching through this, remember watching that video in Namibia and thinking there was one left over but perhaps you'd just edited it out :-)! Impellers are both awesome and a nightmare :-)! The cleaner shrips will clean your teeth if you hold your breath fill your mouth with water and stick your head in a cleaning station - they're all over the reef, there are also cleaner wrasse (very little fish that you see cleaning bigger things). You can see the Cleaner shrips at night - when you shine your torch on teh reef there will be lots of little bright lights all over it - the cleaner shrips eyes are prismatic so they reflect light back at you - just like the "cats eyes" in the middle of roads - pretty amazing!
FYI for burns like this you need to get ice water asap (bag of ice and water in a pan). Hold your hand under the water until you are virtually screaming in pain from the cold. Results are staggering!
Delos core crew obtained valid international Maritime safety training in the Philippines back in episode 30-40ish... and remember they have handbooks for managing all situations on board including Cookery... they know what to do...the right thing....always
Sorry but how do you know they did the right thing? Sometimes people don't know this stuff and I'd argue putting something for minor burns all over your hand is far less effective than the ice water. Maybe they did not show the ice water but either way i was adding my experience. Also you assume i am totally unqualified. I have seen every episode including the one in question and I'm afraid that training is not exhaustive. Just because you have it does not mean you can't learn anything new.
And to be clear i am talking about minor burns. Cold tap until ice water can be arranged. Anything serious needs medical attention asap and all you can do is use a damp cool towel etc. Creams are not normally very effective.
Last thoughts before leaving Ascension Island ?Magnum,Magnum......The ice cream is pretty good : ))) Humans can be happy about something completely different on an island. When its volcanic the magma beneath might produce magnetic fields floating around. Veeery impressive !Be careful with the edges also, there can be "underwater-waterfalls" (no better word for it)that suck you into the deep.
Awesome stuff as always! Thank you for sharing this place with us, the audience. This is a place I know I will never visit in my life, so thank you for taking me there.
I’m a mechanic and have to say that I’m impressed with the “MacGyver “ fixes. Good job! As far as looking over the missing piece , just chalk that up to experience and shit happens. Love your videos
What an ace crew this is I really hope you can all stay together for much much longer, you all seem really happy together......I'm sure the wonderful places help and the prettiest girl of all DELOS!! 😀😁😂
Hi Delos crew, Have been watching your videos since you arrived at our fairest Cape Town...which by the way is suffering under terrible drought conditions. Awesome stuff you guys are experiencing. As my great grand father was born on the island of St. Helena now through you eyes i was able to see almost every nook and cranny of this volcanic rock in the middle of the vast Atlantic Ocean, thank you !
Brady Trautman you guys live the life! Enjoy! Thanks for the reply! Maybe one of these days i will get to meet you all. What are the odds you guys sail through the Saint Lawrence Seaway and make it around Michigan? Maybe that can be a future adventure for you guys haha😂
Poor poor Lizbef.. I hope you're doing well dear.. Take care of that burn... Much love to you and the rest of the Delos Crew from South Carolina. USA..
AMAZING!! Breathtakingly beautiful!! Thanks for sharing. I hope Liz’s hand is getting better!! Glad everyone is safe. Wishing you smooth sailing to Brazil. Happy St. Patrick’s Day tomorrow 🍀. Ciao! ❌⭕️❌⭕️
Brian, Nugget and Kazza, Cheers from Kerala, India. Hope the maintenance went good and you're shipshape sailing smooth. Was watching this video while going through the whole channel from top again, thoroughly this time 😄. Saw the burn incident and wanted to help. Any animal fat, especially chicken fat helps very much if applied immediately before the skin gets a chance to scald. Even after scalding it is much effective than any cream or other topical applicant. Cheers again and Godspeed.
If i think about a PARADISE (underwater this time) for me is that one! Thank you guys, really. Very amazing and "EPIC" (as you girls say...) job. el venesian
Man y’all gotta be careful even getting near caves, wrecks, etc. even if you have done it tons of times, even if you have your wreck cert. be careful! Would be horrible if something happened to one of y’all! Very thankful, I know that had to be crazy scary. Keep up the great vids!!
Hey Tribe! We hope you enjoy our last video of Ascension Island. I think it's fair to say this spot in particular- Botswain Bird Island, was one of favorite stops this season. So stoked we get to share our crazy adventures there with all of YOU! Are you guys ready to set sail to Brasil or what!?

Keep it going and "boa estadia no Brasil e não esqueçam de provar a caipirinha".
Yeah what he said! The more I watch you dive the more I want to get in the water, thankyou your video's are def a weeks highlight :))
I teared up at how sweet Brady and Brian are for teaching Elizabeth and Lisa how to dive. Their happiness afterwards was wonderful to watch. Thanks guys!

Brian .... you're awesome !
These two vids of Liz and Lisa diving are absolutely heart warming.
Miss Austria has the best natural attitude.
I think they are all incredibly beautiful in unique ways. I'll say Alex's composure after that was either absolutely fantastic, or greatly edited. That was scary as hell.
Miss Austria really is an attractive person in all ways! 😗😗😗😗😗😗
Her whole face smiles !
That was definitely a 10..................................................WOW!!!!!!!!

The whole crew is utterly awesome, but I particularly like Karin's attitude. She seems so happy and loving. Kinda inspirational, frankly.
WOW the videos they are putting our are incredible. How many sailing videos ever show you scuba diving and getting sucked into a cave, NONE. No one even comes close to what SV Delos is putting out there. They not only raised the bar but they set the bar also. Great job Delos.
Congrats Liz And Lisa the newest members of the undersea world. Well done. Such a beautiful wrap up to an amazing place.

Thanks so much for joining us on this adventure!
The shrimp on the eel!! Priceless!!
Sorry ladies were hurting!!
And the TURTLE!! AMAZING!! 🐢
The video production of this channel deserves a ton of credit.
Best part about Delos is the smiles! I love to see the crew smile. It brings great joy and laughter to my life.
waldowoc Thanks man! You guys make us smile everyday!
Any kind of cave entry underwater is cave diving, a different beast
The editor of Delos is top notch. Elite status.
Oh thank you so much :). Fair winds! Brian

Alex you are so fortunate to have Brian with you. So happy you are ok!
After a shitty week it's nice to come home to 38 minutes of Delos!

Amazingly beautiful! Possibly the best episode yet. I got kind of choked up contemplating the impact that you guys have had on Elizabeth and Lisa's lives.
By far the best underwater photography you guys have done.
Quinton Lindgren Thanks man!

Brings back memories of my first open water dive in the ocean.

Sunday mornings I love moving to the sofa and watching the latest vid from SVDelos. Great way to start the day.
Great stuff.
The best was watching Lizas and Elisabeths emotions after diving, priceless!
Much love to all of you.
Wow some amazing scuba diving. Very cool to see all the sea life down there.

shame you all miss mexico...meaning, all you 'round the world' sailors.
delos was lucky enough to have the trip down the baja coast, though no one spends enough time, and it's nearly a thousand miles of 'ascension' type vistas that include much more sea life than i observed in your videos of ascension...plus, if you want to be shit on by birds while anchored, we have islas marrietas here in the banderas bay...hahaha.

Raw water pump impellers and autopilot spare parts! Cant have enough of them on Delos!
Best sailing channel together with RAN sailing. Great video.
Best diving video seen so far, ( Delos or others !). Ascension Island has the clearest water, and the richest marine life.
Brian ! The impellar , your doing it wrong ! LOL thanks for sharing 😎
Excellent underwater photography, Jack Coo-stow , is green with envy . Seriously..
How am I sure? Because Brian Truatman is the Captain!! C'mon
@@githice Sure, my mistake ;)
Absolutely the best editing and content on RUclips. Got rid of cable because of vlogs like yours. Thanks you. Look forward to next Friday already.
Last thoughts before leaving Ascension Island ?Magnum,Magnum......The ice cream is pretty good : )))
Humans can be happy about something completely different on an island.
When its volcanic the magma beneath might produce magnetic fields floating around.
Veeery impressive !Be careful with the edges also, there can be "underwater-waterfalls" (no better word for it)that suck you into the deep.
aw thank you so much for playing 'better when' again! love that song from Noseby vid!
Team work
More underwater epicness :)) happy everyone is okay! Asencion island what beautiful and strange place! What a gift you all got!
Lived on Ascension for a year and this is bringing it alllll back! Delos, you rock!
Tim Meaker thanks for the love Tim! It's an awesome place!
Brilliant song choice guys
Been watching you and some other sailing videos for about 6 mths now and this episode has to be the best I have seen yet. Great job, thanks.
Awesome stuff as always! Thank you for sharing this place with us, the audience. This is a place I know I will never visit in my life, so thank you for taking me there.
Thank you for joining us!
What an amazing episode. The diving shots were stellar and the reactions from the new divers were fun to witness.
Thanks man! It was so much fun to film!
Thumbs up from Torquay England , all of your adventures are fantastic thank you so much for sharing this beautiful planet 🌏 to us!
Don't know how you guys do it, but you just keep getting better and better and better
Hi Delos crew,
Have been watching your videos since you arrived at our fairest Cape Town...which by the way is suffering under terrible drought conditions. Awesome stuff you guys are experiencing. As my great grand father was born on the island of St. Helena now through you eyes i was able to see almost every nook and cranny of this volcanic rock in the middle of the vast Atlantic Ocean, thank you !
Sorry, Robert Hilton, for the horrible drought you're dealing with. Thoughts and prayers...
Hi Lydia, thanks for the thoughts and prayers
Cracking video guys. Good to see the continuity editor is on the case with the bananas.
Another masterpiece
Man, I truly love your videos!.. you guys brighten up my friday mornings!
The last minute or two of this post was the best! You guys should do more blooper reel style stuff at the end like this of every episode.
Bruce Bruce oh we do :) I guess you have to go back and re watch now haha
Brady Trautman you guys live the life! Enjoy! Thanks for the reply! Maybe one of these days i will get to meet you all. What are the odds you guys sail through the Saint Lawrence Seaway and make it around Michigan? Maybe that can be a future adventure for you guys haha😂
good music, great editing and filming. this is my fav crew.
wow. wow. you guys are incredible. beautifully shot, amazing coverage. and an incredible edit. absolute perfection. sensational work!!!

One of the best ive seen in the last 6 years;)
One of the best videos EVER! The underwater footage is spectacular! Well done and fair and favorable winds always!
Loved this episode. I remember Ascension Island from an episode of Departures. Now I have to go back and rewatch it and see if I recognize anyone!
Great track for the UW scenes. Tasteful and appropriate.
One of the most amusing videos you've shared! Lots of fun amidst the fears. Fair winds!
Thanks for the love man! We had a lot of fun filming it!
Lisa is Sooooooo Adorable!!
aaawwww.... thank you nick!
Your welcome=) its looks like you've had the most amazing experience being aboard Delos!
Brian, Nugget and Kazza,
Cheers from Kerala, India.
Fantastic videos as always. Under water looks amazing & loving your attitude to sharks
Like a slow release of joy 😎
Thanks Delos for the great dive footage! 🇨🇦🇨🇦💞💕
