This video really ran through all the details and specifics. The video skips are unnecessary and we missed important steps like how to route the stator cord and fit it into the cap. It seems simple but for 101 it shouldnt be skipped over
that's a good video bro. I think I need to check my bike rotor as well which I think has the same type with yours. My bike is CBR400F 1983. It's rare in my country. but I have another problem, I have missed the one way starter of her....
Isn't the rotor supposed to be torqued down when you re-install it? Is there a way to tighten it down if the engine is out of the frame? Will you damage the transmission at all by placing the engine in gear to tighten the rotor?
Yes, the rotor bolt will need to be tightened up to draw the rotor onto the taper of the crankshaft. With the engine out of the frame you can just use an impact gun, it should tighten it up without the motor spinning much. You could also put it in gear and lock up the sprocket somehow.
Thanks for making this video, I'm wondering if my brushes arent the culprit of my no charge issue. New Rotor and Stator checks out, i've ordered a new reg but any tips to check brushes or recondition them? Thanks heaps mate!
I put a new rotor in my CB900C and getting 13.2 max at high rpm. My stator might be bad when at higher temperatures but seems to check out ok with ohms. I’m getting high resistance thru brushes but when I clean them resistance is improved. Do the stators come with new brushes
Probably a dumb question but would these be considered a alternator I’m very new to the bike world and no nothing really but am a mechanic of other things. I am looking into a 81 Honda cb650f and dude says it needs an alternator so that’s why I was looking for replacement videos
Yes, depending on make, they can be called alternator, generator, magneto in the OEM parts manuals. An 81 CB650F uses the parts in our video, which are technically a stator, field coil rotor, voltage regulator.
Bought a new battery and installed on a 81 Rs650. Just bought the bike. It sat overnight after a ride back home and now it wont start today. My thoughts were the battery had died but the battery still showed fairly high in the charged range. Any idea why it wont turn over from loss of power if my battery is good?
I replaced stator rotor and regulator on my 81 cb750 and at idle I'm at 11.5v and the rev it up and only get 12.6. Any help to ehy im not getting about 13v-14v?
Is the 84 model nighthawk difficult to find a rotor for.. or is there sonething else... I haven't been able to find one. Thank you for your (unpaid) time
thanks for the video! I want to test the charging system on my ´83 CB110f, can you please tell me where are you connecting each tester cable? as i see they are not connected at the battery - and* and it looks to have a more easy access...
I saw it in another video Remove the rear axle and thred it into the rotor all the way then tighten it good take a hammer and wack the axle inwards the shock will knock the rotor loose
Electronic ignition became common in the late 70's, and early 80's. Your CB would have had electronic ignition. There are also good aftermarket options.
It sounds like you definitely need a new voltage regulator, and possibly stator. Also test the resistance of your field coil rotor, they are known to fail on CB's.
No, sorry. The 85 CB650's used a separate alternator, which we don't make parts for. We only cover the earlier field coil rotor type systems for Honda CB's. Thanks!
No, the regulation point is generally around 14.6VDC. You need a good functioning stator, field coil rotor, and regulator to achieve this on the Honda CB's.

I have watched many man videos on the same topic and u r the only one that makes any sense
Excellent video helped me a lot with a similar problem on my Honda CB650 / 79. Thank you..
GREAT VID! HELPED ME ALOT!

Excellent video I just subscribed and will be ordering up the new stator and rotor for my 750 custom.
Excellent video!! Very well done. Thank you.
No problem!

What battery tester is that? I like that
Will this be the same process for a 83 Honda nighthawk 550??
Following, I have the same bike
When will you have the Charging Alternator Rotor, RM40004, back in stock? I definitely need one.
Still out of stock, Oct'21
Is there a certain torque that you have to use to tighten the rotor?

I do t see the rotor listed for sale on your website? Is this your rotor or purchased elsewhere?

I need a starter for my 83 Honda cb650sc. Any suggestions?
Unfortunately we don't have a starter available for that bike. It should not be too hard to find online.
So will a alternator from a 1983 cb1000c fit onto my 1979 cb750k?
Any idea when you might have alternators back in stock?
Did you get this figured out?
I got one off of another cb750 parts bike that was good but now i have carb issues to deal with
@@arealcanadian7448 you and I both. Mine are pretty rough. Have you done anything with airflow or with your pipes?
No i haven't done any of that
@@arealcanadian7448 nice, then yours should be pretty straightforward. I’m likely going to have to end up rejecting re jetting
Do you have to change the rotor as well when changing that strator? also do i need to get new brushes ?

Hey any idea on if you can put windshield urethane on the rotor to hold the epoxy in because my rotor epoxy is coming apart is that normal ?

You would want to connect directly to the battery terminals for this test.
The rotor can be a pain to get of! It was on my cb 650 cr3.
Do you have any experience with CB700SC alternators, there seems to be some difference
I'm after stator and field coil for a honda cb500 four 1971 k0 can you help?
Unfortunately we don't have these available for the CB500 at this time.
i need that tool to pull the magnetic rotor off! PLEASE HELP! send a link or something!!!

You can use your rear axle as well
areal Canadian what.

I need both the sat or and rotor for my nighthawk wen will u have them in stock
What about the single cam engines such as a CB650SC?
What is used instead of points like older bikes

Good evening, i need a kit for my cb 750F 1980. Wold it be possible to send me data for purchase? I'm brazilian. Thanks in advance.
Hi, you can see all of our parts for your bike here:

Is this 3 phase?
Is there a voltage regulator at 3000 rpm charges at 15.2

Need point for 1981 750 Honda cb can you show how
What do you mean? What point?
Hi I live in Texas
just clean the original parts and my 2 650four charging correctly on 1500rmp...
