X-men legends and you could've put other Spider-Man games. They were all great.

I think I remember a PS2 era game called X-Men Legends or something like that. It was leaps and bounds better than most three quarters Overhead brawler type games. It let you decide how to build up your heroes. So, if you wanted Iceman to be a hulking melee beast ... you could do that. Or, if you wanted to make him a ranged damage dealer ... you could do that. Or, if you wanted to make him a support control type character you could do that.
Allowing each character to be built up in a variety of ways and ALSO having a large roster of team members was a really big deal and allowed for a TON of replayability. Because not only can you change which heroes you're using, you can also totally change how those heroes function and what attacks they have and what role they specialize in.
I'm currently playing through an older Switch Marvel 3 game (the Thanos thing from your list). It's really simplistic. It's just a button masher. It mindless and that makes it less fun. Genuinely, this is really boring and I hoped your list would point me at some games from the last 20 years that were as good as this older X-Men game.

Xmen origins wolverine is another.
Spiderman 2 deserves a mention
