Awesome video! I noticed that when you were punching, your hooksets were just gentle sweeps to the side. Is that on purpose for a reason or is that just a personal habit? Curious if there was a reason behind that because most people try and jack the fish.
Newly learned technique for me, so I’ll need to refine. Straight up would be correct, so I’m wrong. I don’t think you need to smash the hookset. I thought I was just lifting up on them lol.
@@RLFFishing Ahh, I see. You definitely don't need to jack em, you landed plenty of fish like that for sure. I wonder if that gentle sweep is actually better because the hook might not create a big hole in their mouth
Went out again yesterday and can confirm that even in 4-5’ of milfoil, you don’t have to lay the wood to em with 12 feet of line out and an 8’ rod 😂 landed every fish. Punching is pretty awesome, it turns out that id you know how to pitch, you know how to punch lol.
