I had prostrate cancer and had it removed. The cancer was not encased completely witho the prostrate and the physician tat removed it, suggested that I start radiation immediately. After talking to the radiologist, I made a decision to get an optimum pet scan. Ther was no sign of cancer with that scan. After having my PSA checked the following year, my primary care doctor, set up an appointment for another scan. Again, the pet scan didn’t show any cancer. It’s been two years and I feel heathy and maintain an active life. It’s time for my annual check up with my doctor and I’ll have my PSA checked again. If it’s shot up to a high level I’d like to get another opinion on what my next move should be
Hi Ray I hope you see this. I’m a Gleason 9. I had a PSMA Pet scan.nothing showing in bone Posably some spread in lymph nodes. Just outside the prostate. Wondering how your surgery went? And how your doing? I’m wondering if maybe just doing Immune therapy. But I hope your doing well.
My husband has Stage 4 prostrate AND Mantel B cell Lymphoma. It is a real shame that be cannot be a canidate for the latest and greatest trials because he has TWO cancers.
We are sorry to hear about your husband. We are wishing you both the best! If you would like to learn more about clinical trials, you can visit our website: www.cancerresearch.org/en-us/patients/clinical-trials
Dr. Aparico, In reference to Prostate cancer, Is anyone working with the Tumor Suppressor gene to identify where the mutation is that turns the TSG off? If we can identify where the mutation is in a patients genomic sequence, can't we CRISPER it out and replace it with the correct section thereby suppressing/stopping tumor growth? I just lost my big brother to prostate cancer and isn't there some way to use the TSG?
I would love to know the names of the immunotherapy drugs that she says have curative or durable effects. To my knowledge they have had very underwhelming responses such as the case for Provenge. Thank you
