- Come agate hunting with me to two different lakes! I found so many good finds including amethyst with feldspar, agate, Mary Ellen and oolitic banded jasper, and so much more! Finding the amethyst has been one of my dreams and was such a cool find!! Rockhounding is such a fun hobby and I hope you enjoy this adventure!

For your subscribers a little tip for identification. Use a pocket knife to try to cut into a rock material. If you can't then it is likely a quartz which there are many varieties. The knife is hardness 5 the quartz is 6-6.5 in hardness the knife can't scratch it a d that is how you identify it as quartz. Jasper, agate, druzy and crystal points are all varieties of quartz.

I take a squirt bottle with me! It helps if there isnt water close by or if it is dried up!💚

lots and lots of them where I live. I shake my head,locals have no clue, think it's all just gravel for their drive ways. I'll sneak around and pick driveways clean. They think I'm nuts....I think...yeh for me!! lol 😊

That's probably adularescence in the pink and purple one. Potassium pink and maybe a moonstone.

the 1st rocks you showed were not chalcedony. that rock you can see through if you show it in the sun
I do think those ended up being more milky quartz like than chalcedony!Chalcedony you can see light through and you also could see light through on these as well 😊
My friend has a crystal business and we go rock hunting in our local area all the time I just wanted to know what was your profession are you a geologist?

I lost it 😭 I’m actually not sure how! I put it somewhere special since it was so unique and then forgot where that someplace special was! 🤦♀️
