You can see her suffering throughout the entire song, omg, what a performance, what a hard song to sign, what a hard thing to do. I admire her, I'm glad she's happy now, but just WOW, I cried at work watching this, lol
@@cindymcnary6439 I'm glad you went to the Taylor Swift concert, I was watching the live stream but at least she played one of my favorite songs from the tortured poets Department. And Taylor is really saying so long London cuz she's not in London anymore 😢
I think this is how she wrote it, but they changed it for the album.. it's supposed to be a crying song imo 😅 and well... piano just always does that for me 😊😢❤
I wonder what occurred to her at "a moment of one sun." She smiles. Just a little. But it made me think of the smile she'd sometimes have when she'd sing "Call It What You Want."
Maybe she remembered that not everything was bad. But the line "Gray and blue and fights and tunnels, handcuffed to the spell I was under for just one hour of sunshine" or "My friends tried, but I wouldn't hear it, watch me daily disappearing for just one glimpse of his smile" in Fresh Out The Slammer makes me think bad times were so much more than good times
@@KarenDanielaGonzálezElizondo FOTS has a lot of bitterness and like a determination in there that I think exaggerates the negativity. She writes things that she feels as she feels them. Not every song is going to be factually correct even if they're all honest.
@@RoseETempest Yeah, I know that, that's why I think she felt nostalgia when she smiled, or maybe she was just thinking about something else, who knows? And I know what you mean, but I think at the point of the breakup, she saw a lot of bad things in that relationship, as usual, and those lines matches with So Long, London, that's all I was talking about
Same here. It's been years since I had that relationship and still I cry my eyes out listening to this song sometimes. I can't imagine how difficult was for her singing this live, I admire her
i got tickets for london n8 just so that i could see & hear this live (I mean that was to be expected for the last night in london), but i gotta say... It kinda cricketed... i was not good, the higher notes, the missing piano from Dessner (I was secretly hoping he would show up just like Antonoff was earlier).... But anyways... that night was legendary anyways, so glad I was there 🤩
I think she made all that errors because it was such a hard song for her to sing, it is full with meaning and pain, I understand if she didn't make it perfect, but just because of the way she performed with all the raw emotion just about to flood the stage, that's why I liked this soooo much even with the things you mention it
You sacrificed us to the gods of your career and own interests... Always second place. I left all I knew you left me in a house by the heath. I'm pissed you let me give you all my youth for free....
This had to be such a hard song to sing. Even though she has found happiness with Travis, she is still saying goodbye to a life she thought she had. 😍
Especially to a life and person she loved (for so long) and wanted to have forever...
Right? You're losing me is brutally honest
Yes.
I mean yes, she dives right after
She REALLY felt "I am just getting color back into my face, I am mad as hell cause I LOVED this place for so long, London"🥹
Thought the same on “I’ll find someone” 😉
My favourite line of this song
That’s the part I feel the most. Man, she’s absolutely genius! ♥️
"I'm pissed off you let me give you all that youth for free" hits like me like a mack truck every time.

The little smile during "I'll find someone" is just sooo ❤
I love the way she says ‘and you said I abandon the ship..’
Great now I'm crying... AGAIN
As soon as Taylor started playing the song I literally started crying, because I wanted her to do it so badly ever since she first came to London.
I soooooo feel you on this. I went to this specific concert from California just to hear this song. You Were far from alone crying during song.

Why do I like the acoustic version better than the original version? I think that the lyrics for a good cry fit better to a piano.

been waiting for this since album came out !!
Yep and I did knew that the last London show would be the one to perform it in acoustic version 🥲
@@ssectorlap Same! It just had to be done then.

How magical

Wow what a night
Thank you for posting this so fast ❤
Thank you for this 💕
I hate how I relate to every word of this song. Except for the words "london" and "heath" lol

Thank you❤ you have the fans what they wanted, hopefully not at your mental expense.
What Octave is she singing this in? It's different than the audio recording.
It's 3 semitones higher I believe.
