Indian constitution says we have freedom of speech BUT there are restrictions. And some of those restrictions are intentionally vague as to give the government ultimate power to control what we can and can't say. Our constitution is definitely an enlightened piece of document. This aspect doesn't seek very enlightened. The Americans had free speech figured out in 1791. It is a bit disappointing to see Indian constitution made in 1950 being more regressive than US' first amendment

I have never felt this right. Neither the right to appreciate nor the right to criticize. Very less given a chance I just say truth nothing else. Existence of freedom of speech definitely under doubt in upcoming years. I would like to add very simple aspect It is not freedom to speech but a complimentary right wrt duties Right to speech but correct, appropriate matter in context, appropriate way of expression, appropriate time of expressing, appropriate volume of speech and avoiding inappropriate behavior. Well I believe whenever a right is violated it has a link with a forgotten duty. But yes violation of right of one when other person forgets duty. It's not always the same person.

Until article 19 stays suppressed no one can dream and think of article 21.
