This looks like the Miyoo Mini but bigger, and thus more comfortable. I've gone and ordered it while it was still on sale. I'm hoping the community will come through with custom firmware with it. I don't need anything beyond PS1, but I do want scaling options. The screen is 5:6 which works for game consoles that were 4:3, but a 5:6 screen does NOT work well for the 10:9 Gameboy/Gameboy Color or the 3:2 GameBoy Advance. For there to be no option for those but to stretch to 4:3 is not good for me. Custom firmware, please come and make this product better.
Also this handheld is greatly supplemented. It comes with an oem USB-C charger,a 64/128 gb mSD card and a screen protector. That stuff would add at least an extra 10-20 bucks in the final price.
I have an Anbernic handheld which I bought for my kids. It shipped with a clunky menu so I had to flash it, compile pictures for roms, etc. Took me all day! And my kids mess things up from time to time. This one is perfect for that! Ordered today. Thanks for the video.

Battery charges way faster than my other Anbernic device. Very good device for its price. You won't regret buying it.
I remember making a friend a NES Classic with a Raspberry Pi 5 years ago, which cost around $125 dollars and I only loaded it with about 1000 games. Was fun to make but took a few days (mostly due to inexperience and scanning for box art), and always said I would make another one for myself for the living room TV. But man, if the USB-C on this model supports video out, then that's a steal for $50. Classic gaming console without all the work of building one - I don't have as much time these days for projects so my time is worth the money now.

THIS Is what i'm getting. The more expensive new anbernic/retroids etc seem almost there for PS2 emulation, i'll wait a bit longer before spending 150 on one of those, but THIS one, this does it for me, take my £50

Not bad for 50ish device bigger screen than the miyo mini, which the biggest draw to me. What I don't like is the software, the miyo mini was very flexible and the community had a lot of fix for that chip. Unfortunately, it sounds like this device will not get the same support, so what was an actual option is now a negative. ...

It finally moved to the courier’s a week ago and said out for delivery last Friday, then it changed to driver has a short delay but it’s still coming, and hasn’t changed since! Every time I contacted them they said it would be here by Thursday (yesterday), but it never arrived. I’m guessing the driver fancied it for themselves and I’m never going to see it :(
yeah I kinda feel like swapping my fancier one for this one...after I bought all the crap for it and tried to follow the directions, I ttly just had to give up and go back to default with it and just settled with editing/adding some roms. and yeah the menus are way too complicated.
I have a Mini and I'd suggest getting this. I've discovered that the Mini is just *too* small for some games, and I could fit something a little bigger in my pocket anyways. I find myself mostly playing handheld tites on my Mini because they're already designed for very small screens.
I would get this if I didn't already have the Miyoo Mini v2. But I know how hard that is to get these days so I guess I got lucky in getting it earlier.
I don't know where you saw it selling for $50? On AliExpress where it's usually cheaper, prices vary between $67 and $82. Which make the miyoo mini a better choice (great onion os cfw, lots of added emus...), even with a smaller screen.
From Anbernics actual website it was $50 for the 64gb version, which I posted that link in multiple places here. Its now showing $55, but when I recorded this video the price was $50.

This is more powerful than the Miyoo mini and can plug in a controller to play 2 players and has tv out. the default firmware is not that good. retro game corps says it's a closed source firmware but I hope someone can build a custom firmware for this one to unleash it's full potential.

Seems like a good system for the price, but I'd want some custom firmware first to take care of the issues like wrong resolution on GBA

According to the Retro Handhelds team Anbernic 'may' Open Source the kernel to this Handheld also Anbernic's coming out with a Firmware Update too.
