Honestly really want to, but the whole cartel situation kinda scares me. Like from what ive heard its not uncommon for tourists to have run ins with that sorta stuff.

I once saw a pack of wraps and it had an AUS serving size and a US serving size and the US serving size was double
The reason is because in Mexico recently they have put laws in which companies now have to put those labels on everything that’s considered unhealthy. They have also eliminated food mascots because they say that they encourage children to eat un healthy foods. Obesity rates are bad in Mexico so the government is trying to combat that.

I visited Mexico a lot as a kid and yes ...the snacks/food/drinks are better there
Pretty much the same thing everywhere outside the US.
But boy does it cost more. Even as a kid I thought the prices were outragous

no? I got a medium bag of chips and a pineapple soda for 55pesos which is like 2$, and supposedly I got told they charged me way too much, but a bag of chips (M) and a 16ounce soda in usa as of 2023 would be about 4 or 5$ in total like 100 pesos

Did you noticed the Mexican Cheetos don't show Chester? Recently a law was passed where junk/unhealthy food can't show a mascot because it's marketing directed at children.
PS: the zucaritas box they had was from before this law was approved.

I really like that the Mexican one says "exceso de calorías" as in excess in calories. Kinda makes you watch how much you eat haha.
Here in Chile we do the same, we have stickers for excess of sugar, excess of sodium, excess of calories and excess of saturated fats
A lot of countries do this, I know Canada has a system that tells you how healthy something is.
it was recently implemented in Mexico that the labeling of unhealthy products must be displayed to the consumer as a reminder. Mexico is trying to combat obesity.

I have a corn allergy and I live here. I can't eat around 90% of all prepackaged foods. I have to make everything homemade, or order from other countries.

The thing with the drinks is that with corn syrup you have to use more carbonation to fight the syrup vs cane sugar so cane sugar sodas taste smoother. (I work at a soda shop lol)
