As someone who left siege quite a while ago
i have no idea what is that, but back in 2016 shields were dumb fun. 2\2 recruit with 5.7 and a shied is hidden op
They removed shield from recruit a while ago.
Basically they are making shield not hip-fire but instead can knock people down (like push them down) and throw nades, reload, etc behind the shields cover.
They also all sprint like blitz but now when shot enough times they get a slowness debuff
I wish we still had recruit shields.
5 recruits knocking 1 oryx down as dock, Thunderbird and rook keep him alive would be hilarious

@@arcaderdude no worries. Yea patch notes can be annoying. I usually just put them on as background sound while I play stuff (or.. just not read them at all and get confused)

Old Montagne's hipfire accuracy is just another level
Really nice attention to detail with the 3D shield gliding down after the recruit flies through the wall. The more times I watch this, the more stuff I find.
When I used to play RB6 back in S1-3, I always felt that my dude was wider than the shield they were holding
In my experience it is the same, but only when I play as a shield guy.
Because shield is not protecting you from them. It protects them from you.
With this shield rework a shield operator vs oryx on a one on one will be something akin to mortal Kombat

I once had a Rainbow Six Siege game where I played as the massive shield guy (forgot his name) and distracted 2 enemies and a team mate flanked them. I blocked their only doorway and they got shot through a window.
They were shooting at me through two whole mags until it was a stand off.
I stayed at the doorway so I don't get flanked myself.

Funny i always thought oryx was really easy to counter when using shield. they are usually so devoted to charging you then you just side step them then melee. now i have to play ping pong with them for fun.
Didn't even need to sidestep. You can just reaction melee him as he touches you and it's all over for him.
i don't know how to explain it but your art style is really satisfying to look at
Meanwhile what ACTUALLY happened for shields then:
Oryx charges to push the shield, successfully knocks over the shield player, then proceeds to get downed anyway because the shield melee happened at the same time and doesn't get cancelled by charge

I am going to miss the oryx v montagne bull fights, just seeing if I can time my melee right to take out the charging goon.
I remember when I played seage back in the day, I once killed an enemy with their timmates C4, I was playing as moving wall(forgot the name of the op) and I went down the corridor saw an enemy and went back that enemy threw his C4 to kill me but ended up blowing a wall and killing his teammate.

I'm not gonna lie, as a blitz main the fact that they can shoot ur feet even though ur crouched makes no sense and is a absolute nerf. They wanted to make shield defensive but then they punish u for trying to be defensive
