RV Moochdocking ( How do we get electricity?)

  • ☞ 👀 We visited our friends in #SaltLakeCity and did #Moochdocking in their driveway. Since it was a little hot we needed to try to get more electricity to run 2 air conditioners. #RVLife always has challenges that need to be solved. We share how we used our splitter to be able to get 30 amps or 45 amps as we moochdock. Boondocking sometimes has similar challenges if electrical is available at Harvest Host or Boondockers Welcome stay. Hopefully, this video may give you some ideas on how to make your stay more enjoyable.

And here I thought that Salt Lake was just for sitting land speed records and the Mormon Church.
Fun fact...they get lots of snow...got barried more than once there and the last time there my coffee cup staring dancing on the table because there was a quake over in California, that will get your attention and jump start your ticker....I just like the rawness and reality of your Videos...keep up the good work.

Doing all the things. Our daughter and son-in-law got married in Dec. They decided instead of spending money on rent they would buy an RV and moochdock in our driveway until their house is built. It has worked out very well and when they're done they will still have the RV to enjoy.

Spent Jr high and high school there. I worked construction doing upgrades at Kennecott in the early 90s. Before they built up a long the west side of the valley, I hunted rabbits. Took a nose dive on a tube up Bingham canyon. That same canyon has a bigfoot sighting from the late 70s early 80s. Also, that put can be seen in the movie "the postman" and in the original miniseries "the stand". The stand and the movie "bats" were filmed 8n Manga, my home town. Also the filmed the series touched y an angel all around there. I could go on, but.............

I was born in SLC and lived there a couple of year before the family moved to San Diego and then to St George. I still have most of my extended family in that area. I knew all about the KFC. Every time we went to visit my Grandparents on 7th East and 9th South, we would get KFC. They had the best fresh real dinner rolls, not the yucky biscuits they have now. Back then, a bucket of chicken had 30 pieces in it. Oh the memories you brought back.

We are on day 2 of our retirement road trip. My husband just retired from a Rio Tinto mine in Canada. He worked in emergency services (fire and medical) and did 12-hour shifts (6 am to 6 pm or 6 pm to 6 am night shifts).
On numerous occasions he had to respond to a fire call when one of those massive tires caught on fire and then it engulfed the whole truck. Hard fire to fight.

Todd, tell Mike to put in a 100amp Pedistal. And run it from his panel. I installed one it has a 50, 30 and 20 amp feed. The nice thing is I claimed it on my federal and state taxes as a ev charging station. Got to love it when uncle same gives me a tax right off for my home improvement and RV hook-up at the house. I also took our clean out for the sewer and made it to a sewer dump station. And for the water I put a dedicated water supply set at 35psi. Now when my brother shows up he hooks up to the power Pedistal at 50amps and I move my coach to the 30amp since we only have it on to keep the batteries charged and have the furnace set to fan just to move air around.

That was a kick! I'm descended from 5 generations of native Utahns and have lived here for more than 1/2 my life now, but I've never visited the mine so far. Did they tell you the last viewing platform went down in a massive landslide on one side of the mine?! Some flights out of SLC fly over it so I have seen it from the air. Loved your comment on the low humidity. One of the biggest advantages living here, very few bugs and your shower towels never mildew! I hope you have fun boondocking.
