Nice. It's impressive how well landscaped the station is even before any trains are on it too. The airport seems akin to the way Disney designs the parks it has to be perfect!
Amazing to see the almost-complete rail terminal! And quite unbelievable also that it is to be served by "high-speed" trains in just two years' time, when there are literally no tracks on the new line at all, and construction works have just started. You Guys work with more ambitious timelines than I am ever used to!
@qjtvaddict - Actually, it is two years. It’s slated to be complete in 2022. I was talking to an employee at the Brightline station in Miami while adjusting my ticket time when I rode the train last week, and she said it would be done by 2022. The Brightline employee also mentioned that Virgin Airlines proposes to expand the line to Tampa as well after Orlando by maybe 2027, but they weren’t sure yet.
Will whatever you are at if you are at Miami it will take you 6 hours to get to Orlando but if you are at palm beach it will take you 3 hours to get to Orlando even if you are at Fort Lauderdale it will take you 4 hours to get to Orlando. And as I can see its still kinda sad that these trains still cant be as fast as the China or even the Japanese high speed trains. The brightline trains are just going to go up to 125 mph when Orlando tracks are done but as you see that Texas will actually get the Chinese high speed tech trains and they are building it now the completion will be at 2025.
Fabulous!!!! We need more people doing updates on these airport projects. I live in Orlando and have been inside this building a couple of times. Ghost town but hopefully bustling one day!
I’m hoping Sunrail will also use this station. I like their commuter rail operation and think they have the coolest locomotives. And yes, hoping there will eventually be a train between MCO and Disney World, possibly operated by Disney themselves. Whatever it takes to get more cars off the road and to contain the burdens of sprawl. Plenty of room to grow in Orlando.
MCO is a great place to people watch, shop, and navigate. My girls and I park at C just to ride the train. They enjoy it, and you can see a lot from the ride. Enjoy the quiet while you can though, I understand once this new terminal opens it will service as many as 27 additional aircraft, drawing thousands more visitors daily...
@@Luke_Starkenburg Orlando has always had a nice airport (I remember MCO even from my first trip there in 1988, and lived there 1995-97), that's just part of the bait that officials use to keep tourists coming back to the city. I went to Florida at the end of 2018, and I actually waited for my flight out here. It was much nicer and quieter than the main terminal! I think I was the only person in there. And I got to go for a ride on the new APM! :) The other APM's are being refurbished and having their AdTranz/Westinghouse/Bombardier vehicles replaced with new Mitsubishi ones, but they're of a different (larger?) design to this one with much larger windows and (I think) a more attractive design.

I visit this “Ghost Terminal” quite often when I’m either flying out and I’ve arrived early, or even just waiting to pick up friends or family from MCO. It is so quiet and peaceful and is incredibly well kept and clean. I’m usually the only one relaxing at this terminal, there’s no one else. Great place to recharge. The restrooms are super clean and modern. The terminal has huge ceilings so you don’t feel cramped or rushed. They have plenty of ports to charge your devices (and wifi too) and already has plants to make the place feel green. Since it is not really being used as of yet, they are actually allowing people to rent the place for special events. I was there one time when someone rented the place for their wedding. They said it was only about $1000 to rent for the day. It was pretty cool because the huge windows at the front of the terminal allowed for a cool backdrop for the altar with airliners taking off from runway 35L. It’s always fun to visit this terminal and ride the APM. Kind of sad that it won’t be quiet one day, but I am excited to see what’s to come!
When I went out there, I saw some airport employees just relaxing there, charging their stuff. It is very quiet and relaxing, unlike the rest of MCO airport!
I’m guessing when it opens a different airside might be taken out of service and renovated. With the virus traffic may slow down, but there is lots of growing room.

Brightline's Orlando extension is already under construction with an expected 2022 completion, so it's already coming.
@@nightflyer3242 That's wonderful news. I had no idea of the progress. Around here, many ideas like this are only ideas with nice drawings. Or if actually being designed or even built, stopped by incompetent elected office holders.
Hopefully Sunrail is also included. Local commuter trains to the airport are a must if the infrastructure is in place.
Is that theMco airport?
Yes it is
i want the retired beacon its lonely , yall didnt love him
Why isn't the APM rail?
In Minneapolis, where it has more extreme weather and snow, the AMP has steel wheels and track on a cable car system.
I like intermodal facilities.
When will this be completed?
Brightline should be running to the airport by 2022.
Luke Starkenburg I hope it’s sooner because Brightline needs more passengers to keep it viable. We love it down here but it seems not many people are on the train compared with tri-rail. The sooner Orlando opens the better.
How does this vehicle stay on it's track?
Lukas Max there are little arms that stick out with guide wheels attached.
Awesome
Looking forward to being able to take the Brightline to Miami and Ft. Lauderdale instead of driving in my car.
WOW!
How fast does this go? Oh, my! :-)
125 mph
Is it me or does it seem slow?
Shady Tyrell it’s standard for people movers. 30-45mph. I’m not sure.
where does the bright line go from here
It travels to the east coast of Florida and then south to Miami.
I was just there TWO DAYS before this was Uploaded when I was going home
Hope they can get some international flight going out of OIA.
According to their website, you can fly nonstop to 59 international destinations from the Orlando International Airport.
That's MCO
@@alexdaley7616 You always have to connect in larger airport to fly internationally
@@guidodemaio7632 No you don't!!! So many non stop international flights out of OIA. Europe, South America, even non stop to Dubai.
@@cak4539 I don't think so
LAX will be better in someday!

I find it interesting that GOAA has the $$ to build a massive station for trains that don't even exist, as well as a new airport terminal, but they can't seem to do anything to improve the horrible TSA experience in the terminals we already have.
TSA is ran by the federal government
@@jeffc1347, but GOAA owns and runs the facility, and they have invested very little in physical improvements to the security area of the main terminal building.
Looks like singapore skytrain lol

Seems a bit of overkill. Such an elaborate solution and unnecessarily expensive.
Orlando Sunrail. Lmao.
Such incredibly slow and outdated technology - what a waste of investment money! Orlando should be building a hyperloop system instead.
Derek Diel I like what Orlando is doing but I would LOVE to see the hyperloop system implemented somewhere!! Anywhere!! I hope it goes to Las Vegas sometime!
1) Hyperloop hasn't been proven. This expansion has been in the works for many, many years...before hyperloop was anything but a concept. 2) It's only about 1.4 miles between stations. It would be ridiculous to use hyperloop on such a short distance.
Complete waste of money just look at Las Vegas terminal 3 ghost town
It won't be a waste of money in 2 years when Brightline's Orlando extension is complete.
@@nightflyer3242 Agree, I can't wait to ride the train because I hate driving 4 hours to Orlando. I take the Amtrak when I go to Orlando but would much rather take the Brightline(Virgin) train. I've taken the Brightline(Virgin) train in South Florida and it's secure, very clean and on time. I think this will be a very welcomed change for many going to Orlando.
@@nightflyer3242 won’t be a waste of money when Sunrail gets there either.
According to democrats it will be all under water in 11 years. So by the time its finished the world will be ending . ( Its nice They should do that between Boston and Logan - The city that still uses the same cars it had 50 years ago.
