John Bradshaw, I appreciate your comments on alcohol. It is something every Christian needs to evaluate seriously, whether they are complicit. Glory to God!

Sabbath will be harder during tribulation anyway. We won't be able to go jump in the car and take off. We won't be able to buy gas or groceries or any other necessities. Thanks and God bless IIW for taking time to answer these questions.

Once I saw a sign designed by the government, and it reads: It is best not to consume any alcohol, if you do, do it moderately.😂

on Jephthah’s daughter’s story, from Clarkes’ Bible commentary, it says like this:
To lament the daughter of Jephthah] I am satisfied that this is not a correct translation of the original lethannoth lebath yiphtach. Houbigant translates the whole verse thus: Sed iste mos apud Israel invaluit, ut virgines Israel, temporibus diversis, irent ad filiam Jepthe-ut eam quotannis dies quatuor consolarentur; "But this custom prevailed in Israel that the virgins of Israel went at different times, four days in the year, to the daughter of Jephthah, that they might comfort her." This verse also gives evidence that the daughter of Jephthah was not sacrificed: nor does it appear that the custom or statute referred to here lasted after the death of Jephthah's daughter.

Hi pastors, i understand alcohol is discouraged in the Bible and i dont drink but how do you explain the NT verse where, in selecting elders, Paul says he "should'nt be given to much wine." He couldnt possibly mean plain grape juice right? Thanks!
