Just amazingly gorgeous skies and scenery. I must live vicariously thru y'all with my body, but I love getting out for shorter routes💜happy trailz you guys... love your vids!
Nice video. I've never been to this area, but have seen it on maps. Was there a big holiday crowd? It didn't look like there were many other people out there.
For a holiday weekend, it was very quiet. Per the White Mountain Ranger Station, all of the permit quotas were filled for every trail from Bishop to Mammoth. We had a couple neighbors each night at the lake, but there were no crowds.
Couple questions. 1. how would you rate the hike level? Medium, Strenuous? 2. What camera are you using (that zoom control sounds familiar) and are you applying a filter in post? - great color
Thanks for the questions! 1. It's hard to say, and I say this because it depends on your fitness level and the hiking you are used to. To me this was just below medium. Not too much climbing until we arrived to the junction between 2nd and 3rd lake. 2. Believe it or not, all of the pictures in this video were taken with my iPhone 6. I used a free editing app on my phone to edit the photos then uploaded to Flickr. The majority of the video is filmed with my Canon T4i (650D). Thanks again for your comment. Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll be happy to respond.
I have the T4i! Yeah, I need to get into shape. I just hiked Nevada Falls at Yosemite this weekend. Probably not the smartest inaugural hike because the vertical climb (about 1800' vert @ 3+ miles) is a bit of a beast for a guy 35lbs over. But that's who I am. Hilton Lakes does not look any harder. Looks awesome! And fish to boot!
Excellent! If you just hiked up to Nevada Falls, then this backpacking trip will will be easier. Nevada Falls in my opinion is a more challenging hike than Hilton Creek Lakes, however, Hilton Creek is further in total mileage. I think you will be just fine....one way to find out!! Have a great hike if you decide to head up to Hilton Creek!
Absolutely one of my favorite canyons!!! Been going there my whole life, same for my dad and his dad. Great video!

Flipping beautiful!
Wow, that's a lot of beauty to take in - in only a few days. Thanks for the great video. Looks like that hike/ area will be added to the "list"
thanks for sharing! what did you use for bait?
Red fish egg Power Bait :D
Which trip did like better.....this one Hilton lakes or Minarets loop?? Trying to get 1 last trip in before summer ends...
Minarets for sure!!
Great video! I'm going to check out Davis Lake and the surrounding lakes in a few weeks. I'm wondering, where you parked your car for those days?
There is a dedicated backpacking parking lot right at the beginning of the trail-head - very convenient!
Fantastic!

+The Delta Dons Quartet No problem! I'm actually backpacking overnight tomorrow out of Lake Sabrina...another adventure!!
Awesome video. I'm wondering if you recall about how long it took you to hike to the lakes? Thanks!
Thanks! The hike to 2nd lake is about 2 - 3 hours depending on rests. 3rd is about 3, and the others about 3.5.
Did you have many mosquitoes that time of year? Going in a month..
