  • Third-year Environmental Studies Major and Indigenous Studies Minor Katie Miller is an Intern for the Capps Center at UC Santa Barbara, a Center that focuses on the connection between environment, society, and ethics. This internship allows her to participate in a 20-week internship where she works at the SB Botanic Garden to catalog and preserve plants native to California. She is eager to promote environmental conservation and awareness of indigenous lands. Katie explores biodiversity through flora mapping, restoring habitats destroyed in the Thomas and Whitter fires, protecting rare plants, and serving as a plant activist to her UCSB community.
