If I had a nickel for every time Jonathan Sims created an Universum in which a person is supernaturally manipulated into setting off the end of the world, I would have two nickels. Which isn't much, but it's weird that it happened twice.
If I had a nickel for every time he created a world in which someone attempted to prevent the end of the world with a copious quantity of high explosive but ultimately failed I would also have two nickels
for some reason, Thor's final battle with Jörmungandr during Ragnarok was always one of my favorite stories of the end, and every detail including Thor's nine paces has stuck with me for years. This song had me losing my mind with joy. (Right as he said "it's not a fight Thor can win" I screamed "nine paces" and was ecstatic when he took nine steps)
ever since i started singing this in the shower my family has been looking at me weird lol. but hey, best place to be unhinged and yell abt apotheosis and your final reign. good for the soul
@@lilaboxx The Poppy War trilogy by RF Kuang. Inspired by 19th-20th Chinese history (a very brutal time) but set in a Song dynasty-esque setting, but also with magic. You can see the author’s skill grow over the 3 book. The selling point of this book for me was the main character, who is. Batshit insane. Since her corruption arc is through her own perspective, it is quite satisfying. The capital R Rage and Anger. Vengeance, murder, all the good stuff. You can see how her door goes from ajar to unhinged. 10/10 if you love unhinged female MCs. No fanfic I’ve read (as of yet, which isn’t a lot) has been able to portray her sheer rage as it is in canon. Very very good series, sure to leave you with a gaping hole in your heart.

The guitar is so epic I like to imagine that the battle continues even after Odin and Thor get sucked out into space, their bodies tangling and trading blows until they can't anymore...losing consciousness and slowing down until everything fades to black...
@@monarchlaciel3057 In the original story of Ragnarok, Thor takes 9 steps after being bitten by Jormungandr and then dies. I don’t know why he takes 9 steps specifically though- maybe it does have something to do with the worlds? I know the number 9 appears in other Norse myths at least.
I'm here because my MAG watching meant the algorithm recommended me one video after another and suddenly I'm watching Johnny Sims in full steampunk regalia go batshit f*cking insane on stage with folk rock banjo playing behind and all the crowd chanting the words to Red Signal with him and I was wondering where the HELL had this been all my life and why am I only learning about the Mechanisms now?
Odin: Your eldritch abomination void looks GNC AF
Thor: You're insane

"Any window with a hammer is also an emergency exit" is the best one-liner in history, and I will not be taking suggestions.

You’re so right. I’m inspired

Odin and Jormungandr being one and the same is just *chef's kiss*
Thor in this a badass. And that line (Any hammer and a window is an emergency exit) is so cool!

The guitar in the beginning is very reminiscent of don't fear the reaper, idk if that's intentional or not but I just thought it was cool

Thor took 9 steps... 9... now that sounds familiar...
I felt such unbelievable delight at that part, it's brilliant
Why is 9 steps important? Number of worlds in Yggdrasil?

Yep! Honestly, MAG 160-200 is just the bifrost incident in detail.
Thors “I don’t care” was oddly reminiscent of Daisy’s “I don’t carreeeee!” In that one S3 Unknowing ep
