I'm very new to zzz and decided to pull for Yanagi to have a strong character to carry me through the game until I'm at the point where I can think more about how to build my account. I did already do some research on anomaly, so this guide is helpful to understand what Yanagi specifically does. Since I don't have many characters yet I currently use Yanagi with Seth (who was a random pull) and a flex slot just to get through the early game stuff. So thanks for the guide, I will save it for later when I actually reach the point of the game where I need to consider all of this. :)
@vanessab6125 anytime. I've been using anby and nicole (both under leveled) with yanagi for Shinryu and have cleared it with some effort. Once there leveled I didn't see them struggling in the least when played right. Thankfully I have them both at m6s5 and pretty much have them as ex special swap bots. Keep in mind nicole in immune to dmg while charging her e special (l2 do the trick shot for extended duration) and it builds a ton of ether anomaly when charged on top of enemies+the on field duration. She can pretty much cause corruption in one full charge cycle, so if you quick tap her ex before she has enough to orb, you should proc it pretty consistently early fight. When she's at her higher investments you only need to open with that before you just ex special for rest of fight. Also nicole gets free orbs anytime she's involved in a chain, so try not break with her and abuse whenever possible, more free ether build up/grouping/Def shred
May i interest you in er yanagi with rainforest gourmet? (I'm running mono electric so this requires her to be on field for a bit) Basically instead of an atk for her 6th disc, replace it with er, she could gain a full ex bar easily Basically you stun the enemy, use rina ex then yanagi assist n3, ex x3 , if you're in her orange hair state at the last ex you should have enough energy for a 4th ex Basically you end up with a full stack gourmet ex at the end This also works with weeping ,but since weeping takes time, gourmet is better for quick burst of damage (especially useful for time limited challenges like shiyu and you can play her like a normal atk unit) A couple of questions left,is there an ap softcap for yanagi? Also why not upgrade her dodge,it scales higher than her block normal ex and gives energy which overall means more damage in the end
From my tests, a single EX SA wasn't enough to justify running ER and losing Shock/Disorder DMG. Also, since Polarity Disorder uses the current anomaly as base for the damage, you still need to trigger a new shock using all the Gourmet/Weeping Stacks to benefit from them. Could work for M2+ since you need some extra energy to maximize your Polarity Disorder DMG, but it's quite difficult to simulate and find how many casts it can actually increase. For dodge, the damage contribution is minimal and leveling up does not increase shock damage or energy generation, but I agree that it's better than blocking with SA and might be a better investment than Assist.
If against an enemy weak to Physical but is neutral to Electric, would you use Piper or Yanagi in a Burnice / Lucy Team? What if the enemy resist Electric? Which Bangboo would you use in a Yanagi / Burnice / Lucy team?
If the enemy is weak to Phys: Piper or Yanagi. If the enemy is resistant to Electric: Piper Resistances have a huge impact on Anomaly DPS because it reduces both the damage and the buildup For bangboos: Rocketboo if you want extra fire buildup, Moccus if you want some utility, Booresure/Butler for extra energy and more EX SA casts
Both are fine, but Weeping Gemini is slightly better (around 3%) Even with Rina, as long as you're playing with a 2nd Anomaly Unit (Yanagi, Rina, Burnice, for example), Weeping Gemini gives a lot of AP, and that's the main stat you want to stack on Yanagi. It's slower than Fusion, sure, but Fusion Compiler (Phase 1) can only give a max of 75AP (and you'll probably only keep it around 50), while Gemini (Phase 5) gives up to 192 AP.
That's a great point that I didn't consider, but I don't like it that much, because you'll lose a lot of ATK and reduce the effectiveness from Thunder Metal 4pc. Also, even with the faster stacking, once you hit 4 stacks you won't benefit from AM anymore. At the end of the day, it's more about kill time and personal taste. How fast you kill something changes the evaluation of different sets and playstyles.
@okMuzzy reject 4p thunder metal, reform to 2p hormone/2p thunder/2p freedom. Hormone can be flexed out for chaos etc. Way more consistency for slight dmg trade off which can be made up in most cases via good disks.
If I have both Burnice and Yanagi Wengine and both are at 300+ AP, who should I give the relics with more AP to? Yanagi wants to do disorder off of burn so I’d say Burnice?
Well, you'll also trigger disorder using Burn on top of Shock, and Burnice benefits from the 250% for Yanagi's core (but not from Yanagi's Sig Multiplier) Since Polarity Disorder doubles down on AP, and Yanagi can trigger a lot of them through the fight, Yanagi is the one you should focus your AP on. Unless you're already hitting high AP numbers (by high I mean above 600 while in combat), where stacking it would give diminishing returns. In this case, you can balance a bit of AP to Burnice.
Honestly, I think that anyone who is thinking about getting Miyabi (which is pretty much everyone) needs to have either Yanagi or Burnice. Ideally, you would want both (I strongly believe that Burnice/Yanagi/Miyabi will be a thing), but that's unrealistic for most f2p/low spend accounts, unless you get very lucky. If all you care about is having good support for Miyabi, and don't care too much about flexibility, Yanagi>Burnice, since she is almost guaranteed to work with Miyabi, regardless of how creative Hoyo decide to get with her activation requirements (which, if Yanagi is anything to go by, could be really weird). However, if you already have Burnice, the smart move is to skip Yanagi if you're running low on pulls regardless of how appealing she might be.
I was always planning to run miyabi in a mono ice team with lycaon and soukaku. Getting burnice was more to round out my fire damage+chase m6 on lucy and nico.
I accidently got her to M2R1, last 3 banner was always late pity, her banner just took me 8k poly plus the the free pulls from patch. Burnice skipped me, but yanagi chose me. Ill take this as a sign to save the rest of whats comming for Miyabi. Ill have to use her as electro hyper until then :(
Nah your 100% losing out. Disorders occur way more frequently in with atleast one different applier. Burnice when played properly with yanagi allows for two simultaneously disorders to occur with 1 happening in between every 1-3 sec. It's no contest.
Now I can't imagine how OP pre-nerf Nagi was.
Take her current strength and times it by 2 or 3 plus slap on e2 ex multi slash in base kit.
That's how strong she was.

Use nicole or piper for flex.
Nicole is under rated, especially when she has her mindscapes/engine.
Getting seth in a random pull is a W, hes pretty good
@@Kspice9000 Thank you for the tips, I'll keep that in mind! I did get a few Nicoles randomly while pulling for Yanagi so I could definitely use her.

if you're going to run burnice you have to use Lucy
@@revo5124 Not really, depends on what he's going for

isn't rainforest gourmet better on mono eletric
Sadly, it's not. Thunder Metal already provides 28% Combat ATK, so the 16% Combat ATK per EX SA cast (at Phase 5) feels underwhelming.
