- Screen readers are great, but what if you need to read a physical document? Not to worry! if you are a JAWS user (Job Access With Speech) you already have an optical character recognition (OCR) solution built right in. In this video we take a look at the JAWS Convenient OCR feature, which allows us to use a document scanner to scan in a document and have it read aloud to us.
We also take a quick look at the PEARL camera from Freedom Scientific, a foldable document scanning camera that connects to your computer via USB, and is able to capture a 8.5x11 document no problem. The design makes it easy to align your document, while providing a handy portable solution.

Can you guys make a video on Jaws like how do use the software since I am not it I never used the Internet with jaws can you make a video for that Luke
Can we use any document camera or do we have to buy this from freedom scientific directly or is this different than the Jaws OC convert to OCR option?
You can use any document camera or scanner!
Have you used the Pearl camera in multipage (automatic) mode? I have tried but Jaws never seem to recognize that there are no more pages to process. So I never get a "finished" notification or a "Open in Word" prompt. No docs on Freedom Scientific website I could find. Any help would be much appreciated!
sorry, I have not tested automatic mode but will do so and reply back with my findings. Are you using Open Book or JAWS for your OCR software?
