    Piccolina shouldn't be bannd imo, that was real ''clever use of game mechanics'' and not an exploit. She was using the mobs and her class, not glitching out of the map or editing the game files, it was blizzards fault for not fixing it before it went to live.

    • @LeiRaion
      @LeiRaion 7 лет назад +6

      1 day bann for clever use of game mechanics is really not that bad... It's pretty obvious it's a bug if they release a RAID instance and you can solo it. IF you exploit that unintentional game mechanic and clear multiple bosses solo... you are going to have some sort of punishment..

    • @MoonPoxX
      @MoonPoxX 7 лет назад +81

      How was it a bug?
      All spells worked as intended, blizzard just didn't think of that possibility.
      The player should've been rewarded, or atleast don't face any punishment for something blizzard did wrong.

    • @LeiRaion
      @LeiRaion 7 лет назад +1

      Sataniq, if you discover a mechanic that appears to give you literal invincibility... you should report it. Not exploit that game mechanic for personal gain (Which Piccolina did...). If you utilize something like that it falls under "clever use of game mechanics" which is Blizzard's nice way of saying "Dude you know what you did...". It wasn't reported, that character, if I recall correctly, used that method of clearing for 2 lockouts before posting that video... That's fundamentally cheating...

      I dont think you know what the definition of a fucking bug is. You are just as stupid as the people that banned the player.

      "Software Bug: A software bug is an error, flaw, failure or fault in a computer program or system that causes it to produce an incorrect or unexpected result, or to behave in unintended ways."

    Pretty lame of Blizz calling the bone armor / incanter's ward combo an "exploit." Its a very clear and fair use of game mechanics. It isn't up to the player to have to make guesses at what Blizzard considers a morally Ok play style.

      There's a very simple outline here. What is obvious is that current raid content is not meant to be soloable. So, the exploit part comes in when she goes away with all the loot. She was supposed to report this unintended feature, not reap its benefits. By the way, it was only a 24-hour ban.

    "Does it make us look bad?"

    "Not only should we fix the exploit, and take the stuff back, ALSO BAN THE PERSON."

      Funnily enough during BC, Nihilum exploited a bug on Lady Vashj and then told Blizz about it. Blizz let them keep the world first honor, so Blizz isn't 100% consistent.

    • @Tekshipie
      @Tekshipie 7 лет назад +22

      Reminds me of League of Legends. In a gimmick gamemode, a group of five players won two matches by circumventing the mechanics in an entirely legal way, by never killing the enemy (so they couldn't go back to their base and buy items) They stalled the game out until the other team surrendered.
      Banned all the players for 2 weeks. went on to lessen the ban but still made em serve about a week for it.

    That bone armor "exploit" is bullshit. That's not an exploit. If the spell is stealable, and there are talents in a mages tree that allowed that to happen, then it was 100% legit. It's not the mages fault that Blizzard allowed that to happen.

    For me, exploits like Piccolina's are just clever uses of game mechanics! Sure, any sort of game mechanic that can be used to such a degree needs to be patched, but so long as she reports it to Blizzard shouldn't she be recognized as a hero of sorts? I mean, figuring out how to defeat a raid by yourself when normally it requires multiple people, that's gotta be something to be proud of.

Cabana (shadow priest), Nition (rogue), and a warrior I can't remember the name of. Cabana even had a song written about her (or him?) from some warrior on the server...something about wanting to "hear her RL psychic scream". I forget his name, but back when weapon skills were in game, there was a max-level (60) dwarf hunter who had a bow and crossbow skill of 1 and a gun skill of 6 (because dwarfs got +5 skill to guns). He played on an RP server and his character was incapable of shooting a ranged weapon due to an injury sustained during the Third War. He melee'd only as a hunter and got to 60. Quite impressive.

      I ran into that one a few months back. Yeah, that vid is something else. Too bad he lost his old hard drive with most of his footage on it. He does cover his story well, and the comments are incredible if you have the time to read them all considering how much of an impact he made. Ten years later and people from out of the blue are stopping by to say, "Hey, you're that guy!" There's probably more than a few of these now under-the-radar pvp players out there, just glad he found a few clips for his portfolio. As some of the 4500+ comments indicate, it was a big part of people's lives back then and something worthwhile to remember.

    But I feel that your judgement has made this series great so far. Suggesting people like Lore or MikeBakaFony would be odd as there's not much to say than "oh they made a bunch of videos". Perhaps "Darnell" the undead might be appropriate?

    I played Vanilla on Tichondrius, alliance, and we had a certain personality that everyone on the server knew by the name of Steelballa. He was a paladin, though he didn't spend a lot of time raiding or pvping when he was on. His favorite thing to do was talk to people, and shout his own name. Love him or hate him, there was no middle ground. Many people thought he was desperate for attention, though many loved his carefree attitude and witty comebacks. No matter how much people shit on him, it never really seemed to bother him. He was who he was and wasn't going to let internet griefing get him down. I was in his guild, and he never would volunteer to come to raids, mainly because he had an unpredictable schedule. When we tried to get to know him a bit better, he was hesitant to tell us not only his real name, but where he lived or what he did for a living. He also would never come on vent and talk to us, citing unstable internet as the reasoning behind it. Around that time, Dave Chapelle let it slip that he was playing more WoW than he was comfortable admitting, and that led us to believe that he was Dave Chapelle. It all fit. I think years later it finally was debunked when he finally caved for good internet, but that was long after I had left the game and he was trying to rebuild the old guild in what I think was Cataclysm. He was well known on both sides though, and Im sure many old schoolers will remember him as well if they heard his name.

Like how they recently banned ALOT of ppl for using a exploit where you split a stack of xp boosting potions to make them stack, so if you had 10x +30% xp you coud split them and gain +300% xp.
