    What do you think, any better race spec bikes at this price point out there?

    Holy smokes.
    You’re serious.
    I want a 6061 just to cruise downtown and back.

      Hahah yeah I recently upgraded actually. Highly recommend the Black Label though for ripping around town and exactly what you’re saying, roll downtown and back

    I don't think it's just for beginners. I would love this frame and probably don't need anything more.

    What pedal technology is that? Noob here looking for clip pedals.

      I run the Favero Assioma power pedals. Can swap em between all my bikes and calibration is super simple. It’s a Look KEO cleat (not my favorite but does the job)

    You must be very tall

      Actually only 6’. The main thing with track bikes is getting enough reach without going beyond UCI limit so always size up on the track 🤘🏼

    I’ve got to round up a disc one of these days and see what all the fuss is about.

      Dude, I’m telling you it’s a game changer. My bike feels naked without it on race day. It’s so weird when you get used to it training wheels feel slow.

    How were you able to change the disc hub from a free hub to the track hub? Been looking everywhere and haven’t found any info on this :\

    • @WaltDoesBikes
      @WaltDoesBikes  Год назад +1

      The track hub came with the disc so all I had to do was break it loose with cone wrenches slide the old axle out and new in

    thinking of buying a stock black label soon but wondering if its better to just put more money into a custom,, any thoughts?

    • @WaltDoesBikes
      @WaltDoesBikes  2 года назад

      What’s your goal? You gonna race it on the track? Fixie crits? Or just rip around town? Looking back if you’ve got some spare change I’d probably chase down a used carbon frameset and go the custom route. I’m likely to upgrade soon. Biggest problem right now is supply chain, though. Tough to find anything.

      @@WaltDoesBikes mostly for city cruising but i would like to eventually enter some races, and yea there seems to be 0 supply anywhere :/ thanks for the help :)

      @@tannerkp6252 no problem! For a city whip I’d say it’s great as is bone stock. Might not gain you style points but depends on whether or not you really care, Hahha. Some fixie crits I’d say it’s likely a good call as well since it’s aluminum and less likely than carbon to be totally destroyed if you crash. Thanks for stoppin’ by! Glad to help 🤘🏼

    what bike for the street, that will be a great sprint red light to red-light fixed gear bike is a good start?" any tips what to look into? no crap stuff... something serious, but not expensive.

    • @WaltDoesBikes
      @WaltDoesBikes  Год назад +2

      I think the Black Label actually is a great starting point for that. Affinity has a few dope options also. Surly is a classic. Depends on the goal. Just street ripping if you customize any of these they’d be dope

    Just bought such frame for street fixed rides. Wanna buy high end custom fixed hubs(lazarus bycicle) and true h plus son hydra/archetype wheels to substitute stock ones. What do you think about this idea? Thank you

    • @WaltDoesBikes
      @WaltDoesBikes  Год назад +1

      I think this frameset is great for fixie street riding/commuting. I personally raced it on the track but it rips, otherwise. Lacing up a pair of hoops to some sick hubs sounds like a ton of fun. Enjoy!

      I have that set up with a similar frame. It was the best upgrade I have ever had. 10/10

    Black label sucks, had one, garbage. Geometry would be a little better in the top bar incline instead of declined. Bike's a good looking piece of trash.
