The future is as fixed as the past. Grisha only got the founding titan because of future eren and for future eren to have it Grisha had to pass it on to him. It's a self consistent timeline
just my quick take on it but it can symbolize him going dark, since he still had that certain light in his eyes when he had some of his humanity intact...now that he has seen beyond mankind's fate and what he thinks he must do to achieve total freedom, he's lost that glimmer orrrrrrrrrr maybe it's just ymir controlling him. who knows tbh isayama is a genius and I can't wait to see how everything turns out in the end

Reiner was right to be so scared that Eren was the Coordinate. He knew the lengths Eren would eventually be willing to go to, better than Eren even knew at that point.
Nah, Reiner probably would have meant that Eren was his best friend and he did not want him to get eaten in future, if Marley are able to capture him. Rest all was secondary. This was the main reason- or you can say that I still think of it as the main reason.
But Reiner and the warriors wanted to give the founder to Marley and Marley with 7 titans enslaved all the world, now you can make a idea, what would've happened.
Actually no, At that time, Eren was a stubborn and bold child. And considering that coordinate is the most important thing because of some reasons we will see in the future, he was meaning that "This ignorant stupid angry kid got the coordinate, we are fucked". And also Eren doesnt have Royal Blood which is also a negative factor again. When you think about the timeline, its an example of perfect writing. Grisha going outside with his sister is the cause to all the things that happened lol. And when Grisha took the coordinate from the royal family, he doomed everyone without even knowing that.
As a manga reader, I can assure you _it's not over yet._ Eren Yaeger has come a long way. Writing a character like him had to have been no easy feat. Hajime Isayama should feel proud.

it’s not that eren is the villain it’s that his actions are that of a villains. obviously his cause is a subjectively “just” cause but for the majority of humanity to survive eren is a hindrance. obviously we see eren and The Wall Gang as the protagonists because we’ve seen this whole show through their perspective but imagine if it were from the eyes of somebody like Reiner? blinded by doctrine and propaganda, being taught that satan’s children lie on the other side of the wall and being tasked to kill them before they destroy the entire known world yet when you try to attack them one of them harnesses godlike power, breaks out, infiltrates your home country where you worked so hard to overcome the label your country has given you and be welcomed as a true citizen, and kills you, all of your friends, your family and random civilians in the name of “preservation of the human race” for his “evil” friends it’s all about perspective, which is one of the many reasons why i love this show so much

He is one of my favourite characters even though the fandom only tend to care about his looks(which is so annoying). Eren is a brilliant character and one of the best main characters ever created. Some people looked him as a crybaby in the first three seasons without understanding that he was a 15 year old kid who was forced to eat his father and be a titan shifter , be the reason for the death of survey corps, and carry the responsibility of humanity due to his power. He was a kid who was dreaming of being free without knowing anything about the other side of the walls. He was a kid when he witnessed his mother's and all these people's brutal death. He was a kid when he promised himself that he will exterminate all the titans. He was a kid when he was betrayed by his friends. He was a kid when he lost his comrades and found out that he has the founding titan. He never forgived himself nor forgot all about these even though HE WAS A KID. What he is doing now is not a revenge he just fights for people he love, and the island he was born into. Eren Jaeger is one of the most well-written and genious characters ever who actually keeps going.
I totally agree. I actually always liked Eren and yes he's cute, but also a very interesting character. I think he was a big crybaby in the beginning but that was actually kind of fun, because he was so young and also that was part of his personality. Whenever he had a decision to make I thought "oh, here we go, sweetie, be smart please" hahahha I mean, I don't understand some fans in general. They don't want a complete perfect character that has no flaws and is always badass and etc, but they also complain on characters that have not so heroic traits. Which makes them far more interesting. And like, people now hating him, calling him villain, I mean... Just don't get it. This was the very first time Mikasa questioned Erens morals. Yes she was against him joining the scouts, but she went along with him regardless. This time was different, you can see in Mikasas face that she was disgusted and horrified by what Eren did. She always idolized Eren, but at that moment she knew what he did was inhumane.
She still idolizes him, she knows what he's done is "wrong" (in heavy quotations that scream doubt) but she's still their, she loves him and it's unconditional

Thats why she cares so deeply for eren, and wants to be by his side no matter what. But in this season that "no matter what" is starting to be questioned. so she is starting to not idolize him due to inner conflict of who he is now and in the manga. Remember mikasa is still her own person, so she does have common sense

I think that perhaps one of the most beautiful aspects of attack on titan is how it shows the ugly and the beauty of humans. It shows their will to fight and their will to die, and it shows how you’re heroes are only your heroes because you’ve grown to love them. Eren will always have a special place in my heart, as he was the first to show me what it’s like to lose your humanity over time, and because of that the dirty reality of the world we live in. He taught me to fight, and he taught me to lose, but most importantly, he taught me what it means to be human.

Amen to that. Too many hypocritical douchbags seem to think that him killing innocents is murder and makes him the bad guy. The reality is, innocents are going to die in war, period and as you said they were going to go after the coordinate no matter the cost to civilians anyway. In war you can't win if you restrict yourself to some bs high ideal. Its why as an example the US is hated by a lot of nations, many of them allies because the US refuses to adopt bs rules that make fighting much harder and killing the enemy more difficult. If civilians occupy a military target then it sucks for them. If the enemy is using human shields then you kill both. The result is the enemy learns to adjust their tactics and thus oddly enough more innocents are save. In Eren's case he is left with no choice in the matter. Marley struck first, creating the very devil they've been preaching for decades. Here is how I see the difference between Villians, Hero's, and anti hero. Villians are murderers who kill for pleasure, Hero's are just cops with powers, Anti heros are soldiers who kill the evil ones because the system has failed. In this case neither Marley nor Paradis are villians, they are simply two nations at war and Eren is doing everything in his power to ensure his people survive, even if he has to become a monster to do it. This brought a tear to my eye. Being in the shoes of Eren since season one, having seen the world he was born into and his desire to live freely, all of it was robbed from him with no chance of being returned. Having himself and everyone he still loves be called irredeemable devils that need to be exterminated and have war be declared on his home without him even having done anything to them yet. Of all the truths told by Willy he left out the fact Marley has been sending the pure titans to Paradis and those pure titans are the reason the Devils of Paradis were truly born. I can't completely agree with the sentiment, but one way to erase the knowledge of who cast the first stone would be to erase everyone who could possibly remember. Destroying the world. The only two people living from his childhood to current anime are Armin and Mikasa. Armin being the Colossal Titan has his years numbered already, and the anime is getting close to revealing the secrets behind Mikasa's heritage. When everything you love is taken away by the cruel strings of fate that bind us all, would you as the puppeteer choose to cut the mess of strings in the hopes of something new being able to take hold? Who's to say? Only those who keep moving forward will know the answer.. (tried to not spoil anything, I've only read up to chapter 128 of the manga where I chose to stop reading to see the anime conclusion)

He is one of my favourite characters even though the fandom only tend to care about his looks(which is so annoying). Eren is a brilliant character and one of the best main characters ever created. Some people looked him as a crybaby in the first three seasons without understanding that he was a 15 year old kid who was forced to eat his father and be a titan shifter , be the reason for the death of survey corps, and carry the responsibility of humanity due to his power. He was a kid who was dreaming of being free without knowing anything about the other side of the walls. He was a kid when he witnessed his mother's and all these people's brutal death. He was a kid when he promised himself that he will exterminate all the titans. He was a kid when he was betrayed by his friends. He was a kid when he lost his comrades and found out that he has the founding titan. He never forgived himself nor forgot all about these even though HE WAS A KID. What he is doing now is not a revenge he just fights for people he love, and the island he was born into. Eren Jaeger is one of the most well-written and genious characters ever who actually keeps going.

This was the very first time Mikasa questioned Erens morals. Yes she was against him joining the scouts, but she went along with him regardless. This time was different, you can see in Mikasas face that she was disgusted and horrified by what Eren did. She always idolized Eren, but at that moment she knew what he did was inhumane.

I think that perhaps one of the most beautiful aspects of attack on titan is how it shows the ugly and the beauty of humans. It shows their will to fight and their will to die, and it shows how you’re heroes are only your heroes because you’ve grown to love them. Eren will always have a special place in my heart, as he was the first to show me what it’s like to lose your humanity over time, and because of that the dirty reality of the world we live in. He taught me to fight, and he taught me to lose, but most importantly, he taught me what it means to be human.

Amen to that. Too many hypocritical douchbags seem to think that him killing innocents is murder and makes him the bad guy. The reality is, innocents are going to die in war, period and as you said they were going to go after the coordinate no matter the cost to civilians anyway.
In war you can't win if you restrict yourself to some bs high ideal. Its why as an example the US is hated by a lot of nations, many of them allies because the US refuses to adopt bs rules that make fighting much harder and killing the enemy more difficult. If civilians occupy a military target then it sucks for them. If the enemy is using human shields then you kill both.
The result is the enemy learns to adjust their tactics and thus oddly enough more innocents are save.
In Eren's case he is left with no choice in the matter. Marley struck first, creating the very devil they've been preaching for decades. Here is how I see the difference between Villians, Hero's, and anti hero. Villians are murderers who kill for pleasure, Hero's are just cops with powers, Anti heros are soldiers who kill the evil ones because the system has failed.
In this case neither Marley nor Paradis are villians, they are simply two nations at war and Eren is doing everything in his power to ensure his people survive, even if he has to become a monster to do it.

This brought a tear to my eye. Being in the shoes of Eren since season one, having seen the world he was born into and his desire to live freely, all of it was robbed from him with no chance of being returned. Having himself and everyone he still loves be called irredeemable devils that need to be exterminated and have war be declared on his home without him even having done anything to them yet. Of all the truths told by Willy he left out the fact Marley has been sending the pure titans to Paradis and those pure titans are the reason the Devils of Paradis were truly born. I can't completely agree with the sentiment, but one way to erase the knowledge of who cast the first stone would be to erase everyone who could possibly remember. Destroying the world.
The only two people living from his childhood to current anime are Armin and Mikasa. Armin being the Colossal Titan has his years numbered already, and the anime is getting close to revealing the secrets behind Mikasa's heritage. When everything you love is taken away by the cruel strings of fate that bind us all, would you as the puppeteer choose to cut the mess of strings in the hopes of something new being able to take hold? Who's to say? Only those who keep moving forward will know the answer..
