Very glad I found this series, the Gloster Javelin is one of my favourite aircraft. Treated somewhat unfairly by history in my opinion, was excited to see a new release for it from Airfix. I'm still learning the ropes on some cheap 1:72 kits, but will be picking one of these up to have a good crack at once I feel more confident. The biggest challenge I think will be getting a good finish on the large surface area as I'm limited to brush painting!
It should be good as long as you do very think coats and use some gloss varnish to finish it, still on my first "real attempt" at painting a model though 😂
It's like they designed these cool sleek airframes, then remembered,Crap we need engines!!!! Oh damn ,radar, forgot that!!! Just funny as hell! I do love a Delta wing though, should be awesome! Never built an airfix kit. This one looks pretty dang crisply molded, minor if any ,flash. Might be worth checking one out! Well about the details that wind up hidden, the old saying" but I know it's there" applies to everything! I love detailing truck interiors! I've even got a stack of upholstery thickness leather squares and have covered semi seats with actual leather! Can't see shit, but" I know it's there"!!!!!! It's a madness isn't it?
That side to side differentiation that I so evident,I'm sure has to do with the angles of the tubes in regards of the mounting lugs! That's some impressive engineering!
Dan, looks like a nice kit. Never did many Air Fix kits, actually 0, so, I'm watching to see how much of Dan's Engineering needs to be done to make the kit good. Looking to the next installment.
Yes, you are going to have MAJOR problems with the assembly of this kit!!!! It just falls together, and fits, for the most part, very well. This is NEW Airfix. If you want a putty monster to build, grab that Buccaneer kit out of your stash!
This has been a problem (deliberate sadly) with Airfix kits for decades. They want you to be captive paint customers. There was a time when Humbrol (their paint brand) were second to none, but now I have found quality issues. The trick is to obtain the paint pamphlet that shows what all the numbers mean. (and don't misplace it)

Never did find this one as a kid in the 1970's!

Over thinking the detail on a model is pretty common. Oh well it keeps us off the streets!

Yes, some of the best engineering I've ever seen in their kits. Easily up there with traditional Japanese offerings.
Pretty good Dan. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for following!

No modifications so far! The next truck project however...
My dad used to work on Javelins and Vampires the last one he worked on before he passed away was XH902
Good deal Dan! 👍👍✌🏻
Thanks!
Dansmodelworx - yeah man YW!
Looking good Dan, I need to do a plane sometime also.
A bit less room for customizing but fun nevertheless.
@@dansmodelworx That's true...............
Enjoy your videos and work. For reasons known only to the netgods, your channel and a couple of others refuses to play on my smart TV...curious.

I stand warned about the Buccaneer. I understand the Lightning has some problems too!
Where the hell are the color call outs on airfix kits

@@dansmodelworx yes I finally figured it out. The number to part is associated with paint, humbrol paint.. lol
