Touhou has a tendency to lean pretty heavily into the idea of Thematic > Practical, even in-lore. She's from a future Earth (or at least some iteration of Earth) where science and religion have supposedly unified, so... Considering the fact that she has the ability to manifest artificial magic, one can draw certain conclusions as to the role that faith plays in-universe. (A topic of much discussion among lore enthusiasts) Also I believe it's less a Star of David and moreso meant to be a magic circle.

I don't think she was explicitly confirmed to be a Catholic....but....In many endings of Touhou 3, (okay I'm trying my best to not spoiling the Ending cutscene completely)...she does expressing a view that Religion has a role in saving mankind and the world and also believe that Magic in Gensokyo is highly related to religion itself and additionally she also feels offended when someone insulting her for such view. While this one is likely not canon, she was *directly* asked if she a christian by Ellen in Vs mode when playing as Ellen and beating her. And the fact that she used a cross which is a religious symbol. So it's does have a strong possibility that's she might have Christianity as her personal religion even if not explicitly confirmed.
