Great video. Interesting to hear your thoughts on the stem- on my Banshee Paradox (65deg HTA) I run a 60mm stem and it feels just about perfect to me. Through experimentation, I found I don’t really like the handling of stems shorter than about 50mm for some reason, and I wanted a tiny bit more room in the cockpit. That said, I can totally relate to the sketchy feeling you are talking about- I’ve experienced the same thing on a few other bikes!
Hard to pinpoint the exact why/etc on these things sometimes, just because there are so many variables that can play into it (geo, bars and other components, riding style, terrain, etc).
Looking forward to the next one to see how the Poseidon does with upgraded parts!

Its a nice frame that is being let down by that fork. Original launch price was like $1300 so I am glad it has come down.

Wow! It's not even worth $999 with the parts that are specified on it. I have no idea how they would ever think a bicycle with square taper cranks and a 7.5 pound spring fork would go for $1300.

It's on sale for 699, makes it close to the Giordano Intrepid normal price of 649(sale is 527)
      Both are similar
At the sale prices, better to go Norton
..regular prices, better to go Intrepid.
If ones is definitely going to build up, best to go Norton frame only at 299

@@MichaelRobibaro Yeah I saw the $699 price and have been strongly considering it.

Thanks for your review! How would you rate the Frame Compliance compared to, lets say, a Nukeproof Scout or Ragely mmmbop or Big Al? Thanks!

The answer to that is in the next few videos after this one...😉

What size would you recommend for a 195 5'6 guy ?

I'll echo an earlier commenter that it would be interesting how the bike feels with a better fork.

It's currently in the works. I ordered better tires, put my 140mm DVO Sapphire D1 fork on it, a 40mm Profile Helm stem, and I am adding a dropper to it.
Once I get it all rebuilt I will do another test run. Just changing the fork shaved off 3 pounds from the front end.

@@ShadLife excellent. It does seem like a big selling point of this bike compared to other entry-level bikes is the upgradability due to having all modern standards.

    • @ShadLife
      @ShadLife  Год назад

@@politan83 True, but all they really need to do it put a 35 or 40mm stem on it and it would be a major improvement!

    Just built mine: ruclips.net/video/WXFCWdqBcwE/видео.html
I chose the frame only option... I already had most the parts... great frame!

Seems like the trifecta of poor handling between the long stem, crappy tires, and garbage fork.

Does it ship with compressionless brake housing?

🤣 It doesn't feel like it, but I do know where there is a bunch of compressionless housing now...😉
