    So disappointed I wasn’t able to finish the balut after I managed the whole thing 5 years ago 😢 I finished my mouthful but I hope to redeem myself soon 🐣

      I feel you with the balut one Ate Zoe. I never finished balut even once. The texture, the chick wiggling, and the soup's smell is too much for me😆

    @Zoe&Czar....Whenever you want to try balut next time, do it the right way to enjoy its pure goodness. What you did was actually wrong. The right way to eat balut and enjoy it, do it this way: peel off the shell at the blunt end of the egg (usually marked with X). Make a hole, small enough to prevent the soup from spilling. Don't spoil the natural soup yet. Don't add salt or vinegar yet to the soup. Sip the soup straightaway and savor its natural chicken broth taste. Consume all the soup of the egg before dealing with the solid content. As soon as you consumed the soup, peel off the remaining shell until halfway down the egg to reveal half the size of the solid content. Then sprinkle just a pinch of salt (not a teaspoon as it's too salty) and a drizzle of vinegar (not douse it) to the content. Putting too much salt and too much vinegar will spoil your experience. Eating balut is very similar to eating any kind of food. You do it the right way to enjoy it. Put just a very tiny amount of salt and a hint of vinegar to your balut and savor it. Don't swallow it all at once. There's nothing unusual to balut except the image of a fertilized chick. The chick has not eaten solid food yet (while inside the egg) so its intestine is empty. Eating balut can be a nice experience if you eat it the right way.

    🇵🇭❤️ Nice! Good to know you're trying out all the street foods in Cebu. Btw, have you tasted the fresh Danggit fish? It is deep fried, salty, crispy and goes well with rice and tomatoes. A bowl of sinigang na maya-maya would make it a super combo. You might like them. 👍🤟

      @@ZoeCzar Danggit is rabbitfish or locally known as samaral. It is marinated in salt, vinegar and garlic then deep fried. I prefer eating the larger fresh fried danggit because it's fleshy than the already dried and smaller ones. It is plentiful in the Taboan Public Market in Cebu along with the sweet dried small squid or pusit and other dried fish. It is usually bought as take-home or pasalubong.

    Sa-ang is spider conch. Spider conch is the second largest conch species. The one you ate from the skewer is not sa-ang but still a conch, a smaller species of conch. Spider conch is more expensive, maybe P20 per piece because it has bigger meat. The meat of conches is very similar to squid in consistency and taste.

    That's chicken skin indeed. It's not crunchy because it's not fried. It's barbecued or grilled. Slow down on chicken skin as its very high in unsaturated fat.

    • @ZoeCzar
      @ZoeCzar  Год назад +1

      yay thank you! you will love it! Our main advice is don't spend too long in Boracay unless you just want to chill, you really only need 2 nights max 3 because the beach is super beautiful but there's not tons to do like other islands and its very expensive, have fun and let us know if you have any questions 🙏🏽
