Hi Chris, I really like the new direction of your channel. Graveyard stories like this are very interesting. Congrats on how fast your channel is growing. You are obviously doing everything right! 😊👍
Great job! The photos story and cemetary scenes. It is insane your right , I guess there always we're and always will be strange people, that do strange things! Thanks for sharing this Chris! Bob
My Mom and I visited Shakespeare's grave in the church in Stratford-Upon-Avon in England back in 1988. We had to pay 40 pence (not sure how U.S. money that is) to be able to go up to the altar where he and his wife are buried. The story about his skull is quite interesting. I hadn't heard about that before.
Very interesting!!! Chris, details I have never heard before from Shakespeare. I just saw bellow "Visiting gravesites with Steve" writing you a comment.. Steve is a great guy, and I follow him too. You all do a great job and different styles!!!! 👍🏻👏😇🥰
I have never heard that his skull was missing and I find it extremely sad that it is. To me, graves are sacred and nothing should be removed from them. I know at this time it is highly unlikely but I sure would hope that someday it will be returned to his grave.
I have heard of this because I visited Stratford last year and amongst other things visited the church and other places connected with him. It’s a lovely little church with very friend people around to explain anything you want to know.
WOW!! Didn't know about his skull being stolen in a grave robbery. More likely will never be found anywhere after this length of time. We studied his writings in High School in the 1970's. This was very fascinating always learn something new from each of your videos. Have a great Super Bowl Sunday!!
@@Whittdocs Most Welcome!! I very much enjoy all your videos. So, glad I subscribed awhile back. I know it sounds odd but, there is alot to be learnt in a cemetery tour, your videos are fascinating and enjoyable. Happy Valentine's Day!!
No that is not a lie it is true and is disgusting. I was in a museum in London and that was back in the 90s and I was told this by the curator and he said that did happen and that more than likely the skull will never be found this is sickening and the fact he was not in a coffin would make the theft even easier
@@Whittdocs I appreciate you and your channel, I can get info on the cemeteries that I can't get to,i always watch soon as I get the notices, I get to quite a few of them when I have money to travel, this was a very informative video
I haven’t heard that story, but sadly in the past couple of weeks two skulls were taken from metropolitan graves in Melbourne Victoria. Hope for the families they are found soon. I’m enjoying your stories. Being an Aussie most of the sportspersons I have never heard of but entertainers, infamous persons a lot I have. Have you done any on Lizzie Borden or the Salem witches. I have family from Leadville if you are in the area that would be great.
DNA would be the only way to determine if a skull was Shakespeare's, and if there are any living descendants. About five years ago, someone found some Shakespeare manuscripts in England. Was valued around $15 million pounds,I think! Thanks again.
Hello good buddy 🙂👋👋👋 Chris........ I heard that his skull was missing but I heard after a hundred years the stuff in the bones breaks down and the bones fall apart and go to little pieces and then eventually dust so I just wonder if that's not what happened here...it sure is cold ❄️🥶 outside today here with a few snow flurries.. you all take care and God bless my friend 🙏
Awesome video but your videos have to be much longer and I have been with this channel since it started and I don't want to leave but the videos are way too short . And videos that I love like this one Need to be way longer
No you did not didn't dissipoint I loved the video and your such a great story teller that I guess I can get caught up in the videos and never be sorry your videos are so good I guess I wish they could last forever lol and the people and topics lately have been a amazing
Hi ! A very interesting story ! Why would anyone want a skull .? I quess people just do it for kicks . Thanks for all your great vlogs! Take care ! Deborah Manitoba Canada
As they are not allowed to open the grave, ground penetrating radar was used in recent times, which showed that while the lower half of the grave was undisturbed, there were voids at the top end where the head should be, so conclusion is that grave Robbers stole it sometime in the past. I think Shakespeare may have the last laugh on them though, reading his Epitaph on his grave which reads “ Good Friends, for Jesus sake forebear, to dig the dust enclosed here. Blessed be the man that spares these stones, and Cursed be he that moves my Bones!” So let’s hope whoever did steal his scull has been suitably cursed by now! Lol. Best wishes from U.K. 🙋♀️👍🦋
They could exumate his remains, get his DNA, do a social media search. Anyone have any skulls lying around? It might be worth a shot. Stranger things have happened. 😁
HEY, Well I guess William Shakespeare Had Alot more in Death Then he had when he was alive OK Take care stay safe and will see you on the next video project

I read someplace where they found a singing skull in London. It was singing I Have Nobody.
Haha. Thank you for that!!
"in good health" in Elizabethan times meant in good mental health.
Oh okay. Thanks for sharing that.
No I have not heard of this story but I know of his plays and poems. 1616 was along time ago. Thanks for sharing.
I appreciate you watching!
That is unusual. I have never heard that story about his skull. Thank u for this tour. I enjoy them.

Whoa. I taught Shakespeare, but I've never heard this story. His death date was also his birth date.
Oh wow. Thanks for teaching me that!
I never heard this story before today.
It was a new one for me too.
I heard of it but didn't know the whole story. Thank you
Thanks so much for watching.
Never heard the story, Thanks for history lesson 👍👍👍
I appreciate you watching.
I had an amazing history teacher in school that I vaguely remember her mentioning this but as always interesting story
I just hope Ned enjoyed it.

How sad that they took the skull that held the brain that wrote all those brilliant works!
I guess the only way to make sure is to open the grave and not worry about the ‘curse.’

I have not done those, but I would love to.
Yes I've heard of this and it's definitely ironic. My guess is some rich dude probably has it on a yacht.
I visited England & went to his house & grave in Stratford Upon the Avon in the 90's. There was no mention that his head had been stolen!!!!!
I’m thinking, and I may be wrong, that the scan of the grave happened after that.
Good story but very tragic amd sad and on his birthday.
Thanks for watching. I appreciate it.

Never heard the story before became worried as im a big lover of shakespear. Who took the skull and why? Question will never come to answer.
Here is a documentary detailing the whole story:

No never heard that. It is so disturbing that someone would steal his head.
I agree.
Fascinating
Very interesting and they talk about heads that roll
Very true!
Wow that's creppy thank you my friend see you soon

Yorick's revenge. He's got it.
Sad how people disturb the dead.
Never heard that before but heard charlie Chaplin's grave was robbed
I plan to do a video on that too.

Some things just don’t make sense. Thanks for watching.
It serves William Shakespeare right for his sins like rewriting history and lying about the real Macbeth King of Scotland and also King Richard III.
Yes, I knew this story.
Thanks so much for sharing!
I've never heard of this I thought he was buried in Westminster Abby
I wasn’t quite sure myself.

It is believed he died of influenza
Oh okay. Thank you.
I know they made a death mask of him after death but had not heard about this one. Maybe some medical man wanted to study his brain.
Very interesting.
❤️
He was buried like a Muslim......
