    I purchased the Silverado RST in June of this year with a 3 L Duramax. I did my first oil change, so far no oil usage after 4000 miles averaging 31 best I’ve gotten has been 35. Great review… get the all weather mats.

    Tow mirrors do not cause the blind spot in a heavy duty. In the 1500’s they were an after thought. I have the max trailering pkg on my 1500 and I agree, dangerous blind spot turning either way at intersections.

      @@MB-vp7xr That sounds like an expensive model. I didn't notice those luxury models marked down much from new, if you could find the fully loaded model used. From what I read, there are a number of beneficial upgrades with the newest engine, the LZ0. Good luck!

    The new trucks, even base models come well appointed with creature comforts: some very useful and some a marketing ploy. For me personally, I like the thought of the diesel but since I don’t tow often enough I could never justify the initial cost differential. The MPG is great but it would take a long time to recoup that cost especially with the increased cost per gallon. I have to admit a bit of the “wants” came up trying to move into the “needs” category but our old girls are servicing us just fine. I can’t 24:53 imagine trying to work on those new trucks!
    One thing I will say about the sacred oil change intervals…get an oil analysis now to tell you when to change them…our CRV’s both have over 250k miles and we can go about 7500 miles easily and the oils according to labs…look good. Newer engines have got to run better than 20+ year old ones.
    Good video

    • @Academy_Farm
      @Academy_Farm  Месяц назад

      Good insight! The Duramax option adds $2,390 to the sticker. Between fuel saving (there is some for now in my area) fewer trips to the pump, and the longer standard warranty, seems a decent ROI if the longevity is there. I've always erred on the side of too frequent of oil changes to help me sleep better at night.
