I have a cat story for you. I adopted Stella, my black cat, in March 2020. I learned later that I was the third person to adopt here in 3 months. Her original owner had abused her as a kitten and then surrendered her to the shelter because she would not behave as they wanted. By the time I learned all of this, the pandemic was raging and I was committed to her. But she is a very strange cat, and if I don’t behave as she wants she shuns me. I went away for a week in April and I’m still being ignored- except when she wants feeding, etc. I have learned to be compliant. I live in Texas and it’s already very hot. Unfortunately the air conditioner stopped working this weekend, and because of the Memorial Day holiday I couldn’t get it fixed until yesterday. Stella became more and more angry as the heat continued and she continued to plot her revenge even as the house cooled down. Please remember that Stella is a very strange cat. She doesn’t attract or scratch- she’s much more subtle. She hid in a dark corner under my desk which is built into a wall. I spent the day calling out for her and crawling under every piece of furniture (except the desk), going through the darkest reaches of the closets while feeling more and more certain I would find the still corpse of my cat. I have a vivid imagination. I have one friend Stella is comfortable with and I asked her to drop by after work. I started at one end of the house and Brenda the other. As soon as Stella heard her voice, she called out. Twelve hours I searched the house and called for her without success while Brenda called her once. And then she expected me to feed her. She went back to ignoring me after dinner. I told her if she wasn’t nicer to me soon she could go and live with Brenda. What she doesn’t know is Brenda has dogs. Stella hates dogs. Maybe then she’d appreciate me and my dog free home. Greetings from Texas.

My cat Bambino would tear the kitchen dish washing sponge up into pieces or shred up a toilet roll into pieces if he felt upset when I left him alone for too long.😂
He was very very clever though.
I could travel with him in a car and he would sit on my lap or in the car calmly and not freak out.
I could take him on holiday and if he got scared and ran away, I would whistle and he would meow, and come to me.
When I say he ran away, it only happened once when a dog scared him. But if I whistled, he would come.
I spoke to him like a person.
He was very very loved.
I also had a beautiful dog who was super smart whom I also spoke to like a person. Zina. She was also very loved.
Sadly, both passed away.
I hope Stella comes round, she probably has abondonment issues.🐱

Some tips from a pro MA:
If you want to use pass on the makeup brushes, they can be washed in a clarifying shampoo or Dawn dish soap if it’s available in the UK. Then give them 1 part alcohol, 2 part water rinse to sanitize. Squeeze out excess water and lie flat to dry off the edge of a counter.
Spray your compacts with 99% isopropyl alcohol and toss the lipstick and any other cream or liquid in the bin.
The little half moon brush did not come with the MAC compact. The vented space is for the sponge that comes included.

Hi Mr C! Nice haul! So any liquid eye make up is a big No no. You could get a very nasty eye infection of it. Those eyeliners i would propably throw straight to a bin, they are a really good Petri dish for any bacteria. Oh and that crystal is an Amethyst, it is said to protect you from alcoholism😅😂.
I wouldn’t use used makeup from anyone I didn’t know. You just never know where it has been or who has used it.
Lol, I’ve had amethyst crystals in my home for years and I ended up developing an intolerance to alcohol 😂

Hi Mr. C! Another fun boot sale...yay! Love the giant tray basket bassinet thing & what a great price! As a medical professional I'd stay clear of any used or opened liquid, gel, or cream makeup that's not brand new in package. They can grow bacteria on them and you could end up with a nasty pink eye or some kind of skin infection. Actually I'd just stay clear of any used makeup in general. Even if they are slightly used or are testers because folks have put their fingers on them, run them in or on their eyes, &/or lips. Mr C if you’re gonna get into ya crystals keep one of the large makeup brushes to clean them with,I find soft makeup brushes are very good to dust crystals with !!!!! ❤

A blob of shower gel under a warm tap. Rub the make up brushes and rinse. All the 'historic' dirt and grime will come out and like new x

Tiny little tester farrow and ball paints perfect for crafting, do very well on outdoor pots after being varnished as well. Testers are so expensive.
My favourite Amethyst crystal & basket ( fill the basket with crystals as long as they don’t touch each other ) will look naturally stunning 👍

Love the basket. You could use with varius seasonal inside on the center of the table. You did well on all the other items. Careful with makeup, and wash brushes hot soapy water. You can never be to safe. Looking forward to your renovations, I am still painting my kitchen, endless changes. It is apx size of your kitchen.

You can very easily swipe away the top layer of the powder to sanitize it. Even if it’s your own powder, you’re can scrape away the top layer if you haven’t used it for awhile. I have had MAC studio fix powder and cream foundation compacts that I’ve had used for two,or three seasons with no problems. So,as you Brits say, “crack on” lol”!
I love ❤️ the crystal you brought and the makeup case, which was an absolute bargain! 👍 I don’t wear makeup, but I would use a case like that for my art bits and pieces; ideal for paints and brushes etc. You found some good bargains at your boot sale visit! I seldom see boot sales around where I live, as they usually seem to be in the big cities. Maybe I’ll come across one somewhere on my travels and be as lucky as you in finding some useful bargains! I really enjoy watching you browsing and look forward to seeing what you’ve bought. 🙂

You are a great shopper, Love the soap and glory too. Totally agree on the makeup, use by dates are nonsense. Antibac wipe and a spritz of vodka on the bronzer will be fine. Too faced is pretty good stuff. Loved the basket and the little candle. I think the makeup case is very useful, that was a bargain. That was so much fun to watch😁❤️

Pop the powders into the freezer for a couple of hours...job done. You could also spritz with alcohol for good measure if it would give you further peace of mind. Really like the large basket/tray, I wonder how long it will be before the kitties take ownership of it😅

I love it when you don’t have a budget. You did great with the powder makeup. Just sanitize it and scrape the top after because alcohol will dry it out.

Watch out putting crystals on window sills. They can cause fires, especially clear quartz. Also, amethyst will fade and lose its purple colour in sunlight.

I shuddered when you mentioned putting makeup brushes in the washing machine, I could never do that with mine. I use a proper makeup brush cleaner too because I know it won't irritate my eyes like shower gel would.
I agree with what you say about face powder, it sounds like a gimmick from MAC to get you to buy more products. It reminds me of the story that you should buy a new mattress every 7 years - that was spread by Dreams so they could sell more mattresses.
I think I would have picked up some costume jewellery at the bootsale and maybe some old tins.
Hi Mr. C You can use a uv light to sanitizer the makeup and the brushes if have one
I had a very similar makeup box to the one you picked up, Mum now uses it as a tool box and it works very well.
you can use the eyeshadows for crafts etc like acrylic etc. nice find i also use larger brushes for dusting like keyboards, dainty ornaments etc

Great car boot finds/ I never throw eye shadow pallets away when they say and have never had any problems. I thought the security camera was good. We have a problem in my flats lots of people have had their chairs stolen from the walkway s o the camera would be ideal. Love the soap and glory. The basket is great and has multiple uses as it is so big. P&M gorgeous as usual.

You can soak those brushes in a diluted Milton solution, I do it with toothbrushes once per month, you will be amazed at the stuff left behind in the bowl 🙀 but it does the job well 🤗

Hi Mr Carrington. Loved your video as always. Mittens lying sleeping on the cat couch is so cute 🥰 love seeing pumpkin & Mittens they are so adorable 🥰. You got some great bargains at the boot sale. I think the make up case is great snd they are so expensive to buy. I use baby shampoo and a little sanitiser to clean my make up brushes in a make up brush cleaner that dries them too and they are fine. I have some lipsticks I’ve had for over 5 years and still use and I’ve never had a problem 😂. The one thing I wouldn’t use longer than shelf like is eye products or liquid foundation but other than them I don’t go by shelf life 😂 but that’s probably wrong. Hi Iwan, the eye shadows are really great if you make beads from Air Dry Clay, brush is on, either all over or do a pattern, then use a matt or gloss sealant, or use water or alcohol and mix and you can paint with them, I am sure there are lots of other things you can use them for. Love all the items .. put your crystals on a window ledge or outside on a full moon overnight and they will be cleansed and charged .. i think the lights where the best item for me if i needed lights 🙂

If you have any plain wipes(no chemicals) you can pour alcohol into them and clean stuff off with them. Started doing that during covid. My Dr. Started doing the same thing.

Good vlog enjoyed , contact lens cleaner is good as it's alcohol, the air hasnt got to shelve life items so lasts but once open air and bacteria gets in , alot looks like super drug , your house is lovely, good colours in the palette with mirror , I need some new make up , good for crafts brushes again to clean brushes contact lenses cleaner , case brill , love that basket , X good for fruit and veg on work top , you need your roof top pool , oh bet that candles nice , the bubble bath put in spray bottle water down and wipe your furniture down with it , XX 😘👊👍🍀

Powdered makeup products are perfectly fine to use, don't wipe them with anything inside as they will form a hard seal over, but spray liberally with isopropyl alcohol/rubbing alcohol and leave to dry. They are ready to use once dry 😊
Also don't washing machine the brushes cus water in the ferrule (handle) will make the brush fall apart x

Quite a make-up haul you had there! Wasn't Zoella a make-up artist that was big on YT a few years back? My tips for the make up brushes if you don't want to use them on the face, is to use them for cleaning intricate things like decorations, ornaments, and fabric items like lampshades. They will really get into nooks and crannys! And although you can "cleanse" crystals in the sun, don't leave them in the sun for too long or they will fade! Thanks, Iwan!
What a great haul! You got a bargain with the make up, case and light. Loved the large basket tray too, I’d have bought that. I don’t know how you could pass on that book with all the fabulous cat pictures in it, I’d have cut them all out and used them as wallpaper 😆 In fact, I’m going to rewatch to see if I can catch the name of it 😂
Just how beautiful are Pumpkin & Mittens, little Miss was definitely comfy on her chaise and nodding off with the smell of cat nip, Pumpkin was stretched out on the sofa nice and long. He looks so big. Your finds were fabulous, I love the wicker/rattan tray that was my favourite. The crystal is Amethyst , Quartz on Matrix I have a large piece of this that weighs 3.2kg, I’m a huge Crystal collector and have many that I have forgotten the name of that actually cost a fortune. If you wish to get into crystals I can send you in the correct direction, we charge our crystals in moonlight and especially outside for full moons & new moons but windowsills work well but I also cleanse the ones that aren’t on windows with some palo santo or some incense. Hi Mr C, your large basket looks like the baskets parents are using these days for baby changing. They have a little mattress type cushion inside when used with babies, my daughter has one for my grandson, so I spotted it straight away

We have woken up to glorious rain today in Adelaide after our driest February-April period in a century! Can I ask where the car boot sale is, as 4 of my son’s closest friends (2 couples) have moved from Adelaide to London (1 as a paramedic) and I’ve been sharing some of your videos with them for budget options for getting their homes set up with all of the bits and pieces they need. Our cats prefer their catit track set up in a circle. We have a large basket tray on our coffee table and our cats often lay in it - they get annoyed at the decor items that we keep in there which get in their way (I hoped that having a plant, candle, little vase and the remotes would stop them sleeping in there - nope 😂).

Things that caught my eye included the brooches (6:07); the tshirt (7:12); the LV bag (7:32); and La Cuisine (7:51). Hmmmm? ?? I also like the cushion (needlepoint?) situated to your right, . . . a lovely pop of color! I The tray (25:34), yes!!! Artificially scented anything (candles included) worrry me, frankly. Do take care!
Just watching in bed , sore feet after walking around Leeds City Centre today for 5 hours !!!! Went into the huge Poundland in there and sooo many lovely things that I can not get in my local poundland 😂
