Same. I went in with little expectation and have not watched the trailer, the moment the scene where Emi hatched with Ultramen looking so mesmerised, I was hooked.

It was an amazing film, big fan of Ultraman and loving the Bond between Sato and Emi as it reminds me of my own. Can’t wait for a sequel, definitely worth the watch and I give it a solid 9.5/10

    2:55 No he's not.
Prof. Sato is a new character that's introduced in this movie. Both him & his version of Ultraman are new to the Ultraman franchise. So to say that his version of Ultraman has been highly regarded in the franchise is premature at best & misleading at worst.
1:25 Guys, please learn how to pronounce *Tsuburaya* correctly. Google is right there, it's not that hard. Also, the way you pronounce *Sato* is also peculiar. The movie already did it for you, just follow its example.
Also, this review is pretty barebones when it comes to Ultraman references. Here, let me copy-paste my comment about references from other video about Ultraman Rising:
This movie is like a great amalgamation of many elements & references from various Ultraman titles.
Just from the top of my head:
    - The MC is the son of Ultraman who has to inherit the legacy just like in the *Ultraman manga* (which was also adapted by Netflix)
    - This Ultraman seems to transform without using an obvious tool like *Ultraman Jack*
    - The defense force (KDF) doesn’t necessarily side with Ultraman just like TLT/Night Raider in *Ultraman Nexus*
    - The KDF uniform is a fusion between SSSP & Ultra Guard uniforms from *OG Ultraman* & *Ultraseven*
    - Prof. Sato (the dad) got his leg broken, using a crutch that’s similar to Dan Moroboshi (Ultraseven) who is also the mentor for the current Ultraman just like in *Ultraman Leo* show
    - The overall sentiment that humanity need to live in harmony with kaiju was a big theme in *Ultraman Cosmos*
    - Dr. Onda (the antagonist) being the defence organization’s head honcho who hates all kaiju after losing his family member(s) is mirroring Yoichiro Matsunaga, the director of TLT, from *Ultraman Nexus*
    - The Ultraman being boisterous & tend to speak to people freely is just like *Ultraman Zero*
    - The MC’s mother went missing in a mysterious way is very much a major plot in *Ultraman R-B*
    - The kids TV program that Emi watched in the movie is a real thing.
    - Gigantron got modified into Mecha Gigantron is referencing the same thing that happened to Pandon -> Mecha Pandon in *Ultraseven*
    - Gigantron is an original kaiju but you also see classic Ultraman kaiju in this movie like Bemular, Neronga and even Gomora also got mentioned. All of them from *OG Ultraman* in 1966.
    - And many more references not only to other Ultra titles but also a couple Godzilla movies.
