This sounds great. I own the SVP, the tube preamp section of the SVT. I ran mine with an 850 watt old school QST power amp that wont ever quit. The thing is I'm not so great at lugging heavy gear. I'm not the eager 15 year old playing my first bar gig in NYC. Hard to believe that was 45 years ago. Now I make do with a GK amp that weighs 6lbs.

I actually prefer the tone of solid state amps on bass guitar. Tube pre's are "okay." On guitar, though, tube is critical. Solid state guitar amps are insufferable.
